Baller keithh2oskier Posted August 31, 2019 Baller Share Posted August 31, 2019 Pretty awesome. Guess we don’t need 80k + boats after all. Can Fredy should back it up with one of those classic MasterCraft waterskis behind a new pro star?
Baller skimtb Posted August 31, 2019 Baller Share Posted August 31, 2019 Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Was that a black flake boat?
Baller vtmecheng Posted August 31, 2019 Baller Share Posted August 31, 2019 Just saw a 1978 Correct Craft Ski Tique with a guy free skiing. Talked to him briefly, brand new interior and engine. Beautiful boat and the wake didn't look too bad. Lots of spray though.

Baller_ Wish Posted August 31, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted August 31, 2019 PP? Had to close his eyes..he had to... Great driving. Especially if having to hand throttles
Baller skihart Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 Amazing! Was that hand bombed or was there some sort of speed control?
Baller CBR51 Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 Ha. Awesome. I used to own a 79 Mastercraft. Great Boat
Baller jimski Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 Great driving Having owned a 77 s&s I know how hard that is
Baller Justin_C Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 I wish I could recover like he does at 2 ball... Or any ball for that matter
Baller_ Rednucleus Posted September 1, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted September 1, 2019 A bit off topic but similar age - drive by a boat for sale every week. Stopped and looked today - '84 Ski Nautique, 596 original hours, pretty boat still. Bet it's lived indoors most of it's life. Has a tower :(
Baller FishFreq Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 Awesome pass, and from the glance at that dash I'll bet it was hand throttled. There were only twin Aquameter speedos, no PP or ZO speed control. Those ol' comp boats had carburetors, no efi back then, so they were sometimes, well, often finicky. Nice to get past that age, one that has at least efi, much smoother hand throttling, starting around 1999, or better yet around 2007+ when they got throttle by wire so you can put ZeroOff on em.... Baller Stevie Boy Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 Just the Rev Counter and Stop Watch, I remember getting it to with in a tenth of a second and straight, I wonder how many drivers out there, could deliver, without speed control. Baller MillerTime38 Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 Learned to ski behind ‘78 Mastercraft that the old man bought to keep me out of trouble, had 700 hours when we bought it and over 2000 when he got rid of it. Mission accomplished
Baller_ Jody_Seal Posted September 1, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted September 1, 2019 Yea but watch him bow up on the chine spray! The guy is a beast! 10.75 had to be a fire hose! Some one asked about hand bombing the pass. Reminder that those boats were designed to hand drive. pretty easy if you have a good timing system! Baller Jaypro Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 I can't imagine how hard it was to drive with Freddie back there! Driving my buddies 91 prostar with a 32' off skier is work!!

Baller MDB1056 Posted September 1, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 1, 2019 Speedos are dual Airguides. Standards of the day. Interestingly if you stop the video near the end neither of them appear to be reading. Must have dialed in earlier via GPS and tach. Great video. But agree- must have titanium eyeballs to handle the spray

Baller MichaelGoodman Posted September 2, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2019 I bet it would be a lot harder to run on a 1979 ski then a 79 boat.
Baller jhughes Posted September 2, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2019 That boat is insanely tough to drive in the course and very soft and easy to ski since you can do whatever you want with it as the skier. I remember smoking -32 behind a hand driven 83 a few years ago. Still have not run it on a modern boat.
Baller jeromezz430 Posted September 2, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2019 Funny to see that 39off is possible beheind such an old hull .... So i have a lot of margin behind my savoie marine (old french copy of ski tique).
Baller BraceMaker Posted September 2, 2019 Baller Share Posted September 2, 2019 79 the record was still Bob Lapoint 4 on 11.25 Which is a pass and 2 balls of of this I'd bet for a modern slalom skier the boat being soft is easier to 32 and not there at 35 on up.
