davethewave
Does anyone know if HO bindings off an HO Extreme will fit on the new Syndicate? Also, when buying A blank ski is there A fin? Or does that have to be purchased also?
Conor
@davethewave Skis come with a Finn. I doubt your old bindings will fit a current setup.
Administrators Horton Posted October 20, 2019 Administrators Share Posted October 20, 2019 @davethewave no. bindings from a 25+ yr old ski will not fit in a modern ski. Yeah "blank" is with fin. Baller_ lpskier Posted October 20, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted October 20, 2019 I think @Horton meant to say that no 25 year old binding will fit a modern ski. I believe he inadvertently typoed a double negative. And I took the noun “typo”and turned it into a verb. Lpskier

Baller jayski Posted October 20, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 20, 2019 @Horton why wouldn't 25 year old bindings fit a modern ski? Yes they will probably not match the inserts in the ski but they could get screwed in just like they did 25 years ago, probably best to use epoxy in the screw holes but none the less totally feasible. In reality it was way less than 25 years ago when one could screw bindings onto Goode skis as they didn't have inserts.
Administrators Horton Posted October 20, 2019 Administrators Share Posted October 20, 2019 @SkiJay modern skis do not have structure to hold screws. Old skis were built with the intention that they would be screwed in to. I strongly discourage screwing into a modern ski. Baller skialex Posted October 20, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 20, 2019 If you really must use the Extremes, a plate from a newer HO binding like the Animal is a direct fit. Just swap the plates and you can use your boots on any modern ski. Picture is an example of a HO Extreme boot with an Animal plate on a fairy new radar ski
Baller_ lpskier Posted October 20, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted October 20, 2019 My first panda! And just for correcting a grammar error: a double negative. Sorry. English major, not an engineer. A panda seems excessive. Lpskier
Baller DP70 Posted October 20, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 20, 2019 Panda is fully deserved, especially for an English major. If there wasn't a period after 'no' you would have a point, but there is and you don't.
Baller Buck Posted October 20, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 20, 2019 I love the HO 95 bindings on my old Extreme. I just upgraded to a ‘19 Senate Lithium this month and was looking forward to slapping those bindings on my new ski. No such luck. I caved and bought a set of Wiley’s high wraps, which do fit the newer skis. Not looking forward to breaking them in though.
davethewave
lol..I understood what he was sayin'...but the Panda did crack me up! Yes,the Sanger in my Avitar is my ski boat! So, you won't see me at the course. But skiing really hard behind a 600 HP flattie is my recreational fix. I'm looking to buy A new ski to improve upon.I'm trying to keep it under $500 because the boat is kinda tough on skiis, mainly due to the heat off the pipes. Thanks for your help. Might go to Orwood today!
Baller_ lpskier Posted October 21, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted October 21, 2019 @DP70 Ah, right you are! I’d better wear my glasses next time! But in that case, John should have capitalized the B in Binding. A capital letter I could have seen. Sorry, @Horton. My bad. Lpskier
Baller BlueSki Posted October 21, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 21, 2019 Horton’s post is edited. @lpskier, I bet he gave you the panda and then added the period. The good news is that you now have a badge of honor.

Baller_ lpskier Posted October 23, 2019 Baller_ Share Posted October 23, 2019 @BlueSki Well, if it’s edited to add a period, I think I’m entitled to a retracted panda. Lpskier

Baller jimbrake Posted October 23, 2019 Baller Share Posted October 23, 2019 @lpskier - I prefer your turning a noun into a verb over turning a verb into a noun and then having to add an unnecessary verb to make the sentence work. All day I read things like "performed an excavation" and then I edit to "excavated". This is so awesome - our first writing thread. Great. Now I've turned BOS into the same thing as my work. F'ing fantastic.
