Caldwell has shown to be one of the leading minds in the sport in his own right, but it’s a true testament to the validity of his ideas that he has been able to get his skiing to this point. He really didn’t start taking course skiing seriously until he reached his 20s, and has continued to improve at a rapid rate into his late 30s. Every time that guy skis he’s trying something new, whether it’s with his equipment or his technique. It’s been incredible for me to see how he’s progressed, and there have been many times that we’ve argued over an idea of his and he’s proven me wrong.
