No Video Review at Moomba - is this a good thing or a bad thing?

Thinking about what happened last year I think this is a bad thing. Some calls are just hard. Video review can be a judge's best friend if they are not sure. With elite points on the line and thousands of dollars in prize money I am not sure why video review is not mandatory.

It's a good thing. Moomba is a show for the "hundreds of thousands" on the banks. It's not a R/L for ranking scores.

@Horton Of the two lists (Elite and IWWF Ranking), the Elite list should be the let's-put-pro-skiing-in-front-of-the-masses-and-pay-skiers-some-money-even-if-conditions-aren't-perfect list of the two. Cash purses and crowd sizes are (or should be in theory) inextricably linked.

As long as there are two judges watching each gate, and of course the BJ, then that’s enough. Don’t suck the fun out of competitive waterskiing. Judges doing their best is all we can ask.

I like it - a big show and who is best on that given day. Don’t dislike cameras but if they ain’t using them you gotta trust the officials.

you guys have a point and I'm inclined to agree but does everybody remember Moomba last year?

Baseball doesnt have video review for balls and strikes and they still cant avoid a cheating scandal. There has been numerous tests that show the umpires are horrible, so what, when i go to the game and watch it, do I really care?

 

Lets just get on with the skiing.
