If you mounted modern bindings to an old wood ski, how many buoys would you lose off your average?

Wood ski would be biggest factor. Bindings could only help! I did my experiment a few years ago when @Horton was thinking of setting up a wood ski competition thing. Could barely run 4@-22 @ 34 with a @Horton carbon fin.

I ran 35 off @ 30mph on a wood ski with current bindings a few years back. it was hairball.

Some of the wood ski worked fairly well, both LaPoint's had some great scores. The biggest challenge was if you 10 identical ski, they would all behave differently. If you didn't have Bob's & Kris whittling talents you were screwed. I think their experience with Wood skis is why they are so good with working with the "new" skis.

My answer assumes I get a couple of weeks to figure it out. In the short term, my answer is infinity. I'd expect at least a day to be able to run any pass.
