Baller skifan Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 Has anyone created a Seadek template for a 2011 200 Closed Bow that they wouldn't mind sharing? Or has anyone removed the carpet and replaced with Seadek that could provide some tips or advice to do so? Boat is almost 10 years old and the carpet has seen better days. I would like to replace it with seadek. Thanks for the help.
Baller thager Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 For flooring I would look for a MC "Decadence" like product. Has to be cheaper and not hot on the feet. Easy to remove and clean.
Baller Andre Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 @skifan You're buying real Sea Dek brand or Amazon's look alike? My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller skifan Posted August 12, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 @Andre real Seadek.
Baller oldjeep Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 Unless you have snap out carpet you are in for a ton of work
Baller Andre Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 Don't Seadek already have the patterns? My ski finish in 16.95 but my ass is out of tolerance!
Baller skifan Posted August 12, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 @Andre not that I can find on their website @oldjeep I get that the old carpet won't fall out, might be ready for a project. I think the upgrade will be worth it, I've always disliked carpet in boats. I took @thager recommendation and am also looking at the Deckadance marine carpet. That may be easier because it doesn't need to be glued down.
Baller oldjeep Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 @skifan the issue is that boats with glue in carpet don't typically have gel coated floors. They are rough glass.
Baller skier2788 Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 @skifan. I believe what @oldjeep is meaning is that at best the subfloor under the carpet is raw fiberglass. It isn't the nice gel coat finish like the newer boats. Have heard but cannot confirm that some boats the carpet is glued right to the closed cell foam they filled the void between the stringer and hull side with. You might be in for a lot of finishing work to make it look right and be somewhat level
Baller oldjeep Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 Take a look here to see what you are in for http://www.wakeworld.com/forum/showthread.php?t=801723
Baller Orlando76 Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 Carpet right on top of foam! Oh god that nauseated me almost as much as sea dek. What a water logged nightmare! Yes the glass underneath the carpet will need much much prep work to make sea dek look like you imagine it will. I can’t imagine sea dek dealers do t have the patterns for a 200. Surely <$1400 will cover cost of new carpet installed.
Baller Nando Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 Nautiqueparts.com has full kits for a bit over $400. I believe it's the genuine article. From what I've heard, you have a bit of a removal job in front of you, but the installation is not as bad.
Baller skifan Posted August 12, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 Thank you all for the input. Looking at it as a winter project so might give it a shot. If I do I'll let you know what I find and share the results.
Baller lakeo Posted August 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 12, 2020 If it helps I purchased an overlay carpet that I can pull out easily if it gets damp. Give Fogarty Marine a call and I'm sure they could help.
Baller RAWSki Posted August 18, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 18, 2020 Have you checked GatorStep? They had a lot of templates on line and the material is identical to SeaDek.
Baller_ The_MS Posted August 18, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted August 18, 2020 I know that dekadance is available in rolls and is not that expensive.
