Baller VermontSkier Posted August 29, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 29, 2020 Would be curious to see if anyone had made ski racks for their gunnels. I have a Malibu sportster and would like to keep my buddies skis off the floor when we are skiing the course so we have more room to walk around/change ropes etc.
Baller HMan66 Posted August 29, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 29, 2020 One ski right side up on the top, and one upside down on the bottom. Works pretty good. Got the track and racks from Walmart. Stole this idea from a post here a few years ago form someone that did it in their Malibu.
Baller oldjeep Posted August 29, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 29, 2020 Google for a picture of the old skitree racks. They hold 2 skis at an angle. Would be pretty easy to copy and they don't stick out very far.

Baller PurdueSkier Posted August 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2020 @HMan66 that might have been mine. I posted a similar build for my 94 echelon. Sold the boat a few years ago but loved the racks. Worked great yours look really good. @VermontSkier search ski rack for txi. That is where I posted mine. Baller VermontSkier Posted August 30, 2020 Author Baller Share Posted August 30, 2020 Thanks all! Ive seen an example of someone using starboard with a net between, but cant really figure out where is safe to mount (upper part of the gunnel?”
Baller DavidN Posted August 30, 2020 Baller Share Posted August 30, 2020 Admire the craftsmanship but they look like a real shin catcher.
