Baller_ lpskier Posted September 23, 2020 Baller_ Share Posted September 23, 2020 Anyone riding a 68” Vapor Pro Into -38 or better that wants to share fin numbers and binding placement? PS Yes, I know the factory settings and the alternative long/shallow vs short/deep. I’d like to know what people are riding. Lpskier
Baller Mateo_Vargas Posted September 23, 2020 Baller Share Posted September 23, 2020 I've ridden a lot of 68" Vapors into 38 and always liked short/deep settings. The 2017 was the best but haven't tried any 68's since 2018. Last year rode the 67" Senate Pro with TFin's short/deep settings. Lost weight so riding the 67" Vapor this year. Baller bigtex2011 Posted September 23, 2020 Baller Share Posted September 23, 2020 Im riding a 67. I'm a tailslider so I always have to set up my ski to counter blowing my offside turn. Currently 2.457, 6.960 . 753 which is back a bit from stock. bindings 29 3/4 hope it helps.
Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted September 23, 2020 Baller Share Posted September 23, 2020 @lpskier What year Vapor? Id be happy to share some of my numbers. If 2020 68" Id try: 30 3/8 6.832 2.511 .760 Radar Skis Follow Instagram
Baller_ lpskier Posted September 24, 2020 Author Baller_ Share Posted September 24, 2020 @ColeGiacopuzzi Yes. It’s a 2020. Thanks for the numbers. I’ll give them a try. Lpskier

Baller Bdecker Posted September 24, 2020 Baller Share Posted September 24, 2020 @lpskier - I got some numbers from Corey that are working great on my 2020 67”. Very similar to @bigtex2011 . I’d assume you change dft slightly and obviously the boot position.
Baller_ lpskier Posted October 9, 2020 Author Baller_ Share Posted October 9, 2020 I tried the recommended long/shallow setting. Didn’t work for me. Moved my bindings back. Better but no go. Tried the settings from my existing ski. Didn’t work for me but still a step forward. Today I tried 6.870 2.510 .730 9* Front binder at 30, 12 1/4 inch spread Much better! But the ski still feels like it has a lot of drag. I’m going 8* next set. Lpskier
Baller C5Quest Posted October 9, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 9, 2020 @lpskier what size ski? I’m on a 66 and ended up 1/8 forward of stock on front binding. Was running the whisper fin for a while but switched back to stock fin at long/short. It works but needs some tweaking.
Baller_ lpskier Posted October 10, 2020 Author Baller_ Share Posted October 10, 2020 @C5Quest 68. Lpskier
Baller ballsohard Posted October 10, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 10, 2020 My experience is that Vapors at long and shallow like boots forward and an 8-degree wing. I also preferred making the fin a touch shallower.
Baller C5Quest Posted October 11, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2020 I’ll have to try that. Never got my 17, 18, or 19 to work L/S. Only S/D. Opposite for the 2020. How far forward on the boots ?
Baller_ lpskier Posted October 11, 2020 Author Baller_ Share Posted October 11, 2020 8 degrees feels like the ticket. Lpskier
Baller schafer Posted October 11, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2020 @C5Quest I'm on a 66" '21 and really similar to what @lpskier posted, I'm skiing 36 mph 2.512 6.840 .750 9* boot at 29-3/8"
Baller C5Quest Posted October 11, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2020 Thanks. Your running short/deep? I need to change something. On a 66 at L/S but 29 5/8.
Baller ballsohard Posted October 11, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2020 @C5Quest on a 66" I liked the boot at 29 5/
Baller C5Quest Posted October 11, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 11, 2020 I tried stock at 29 1/2 today on 1st set and my off side came back. On the second set I tried wing at 8deg and felt smoother and free of the boat. Water temp was about 63 and basically end of season here in CT unless I head to Florida. I try to only make one change at a time and will need to try those changes at warmer temps but wishing i made the move earlier in season. May try 29 5/8s again with the 8 deg wing but going to wait until I get more time at current set up
Baller santangelo Posted October 12, 2020 Baller Share Posted October 12, 2020 The updated version of finDB has the ability to search for different skis to view the settings others are riding. The Radar Pro Build is the most popular ski in the system. This just went into production over the weekend, so not many have opted into this 'finShare' feature yet, but there are a few Pro Build settings being shared. Go to 'finShare' in the menu after logging in. finDB for IOS finDB for Android
Baller_ lpskier Posted October 14, 2020 Author Baller_ Share Posted October 14, 2020 For whatever reason, I have never ridden a Radar before now. I really like the Vapor Pro and I’m going to stick with it for a while. I guess that means I’ll have to pay for it... Lpskier

Baller_ lpskier Posted October 24, 2020 Author Baller_ Share Posted October 24, 2020 @ColeGiacopuzzi I have two sets on your numbers. What wing angle do you run? I’m at 8 with an S wing, which I preferred on my prior set up as opposed to a flat wing at the same angle. Nine degrees with a flat wing felt way too draggy. With your numbers -28 and -32 feel great but I can’t get past two at 35. Suggestions? Lpskier
