A lot of people (myself included) have made them from 4" PVC pipe. Cut a notch up one side for the rope, put a cap on the end and mount a standard phone holder from Amazon or somewhere on top. If you search through the previous threads there are lots of pictures!

I have loved my Wakeye but the machined plastic clamp broke on one side after a few years. “No big deal, I’ve gotten years of use out of it” I was happy to buy a replacement. The problem is, the replacement parts come from New Zealand. Shipping takes a long time and is expensive. So, my clamp piece comes in the mail and THE VERY FIRST TIME I clamp it on the pylon…. The other half of the clamp breaks.

I love my Wakeye, and have 4-5 years use out of it, but for ease, of use, replacement parts, and US availability, I'd buy a SkiDoc Orbit next time

@UWSkier @MichaelWiebe Favorite Android APP for Video Recording controlled by GPS speed

I was skiing with some guys . . an iPhone was on the pylon that was set to start recording video at 32 mph and above . . and pause below 32 mph. I need for Android. They turned it on at the beginning of 6 skier practice sessions and turned it off when done.

Does the wind from boat movement keep the phones from shutting down from over-heating on a hot sunny day ?
