Baller A_B Posted July 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 24, 2021 Found a new Straightline Ultra Vest online a couple years ago still in plastic package but it was a Small. I found that the only difference with my XL was the neoprene side and over the shoulder panels were much shorter. Long story short, I bought some neoprene and finally found a tailor that would sew in larger panels with edging, and boom, brand new XL Ultra Vest!!! This vest picks up no weight has belts to adjust fit exactly what I like. Planning to get my old a tattered XL refitted with new side and top panels in winter. Baller LeonL Posted July 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 24, 2021 I loved those things. I had about 3 of them. Lasted almost forever. Wish I could still get one.
Baller Dirt Posted July 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 24, 2021 I think I have an XL that I don’t use in the garage. I will look when I get home
Baller_ Wish Posted July 24, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted July 24, 2021 I want one. Some company needs to reproduce them.

Baller Fehlindra Posted July 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2021 Looks like a powervest from goode
Moved2ski
I stumbled onto 4 pair of streightline gloves on eBay. Bought all 4. Age has caused the stitching on the sides of the fingers to fail early. I keep stitching them up.
Baller VONMAN Posted July 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 25, 2021 Way before powervest. I bought 5 Vests about 19 years ago and still have one new one waiting. Ernie Schlager
Baller A_B Posted July 25, 2021 Author Baller Share Posted July 25, 2021 I still have a warm and fuzzy style dry suit top that is brand new. I bought four or five. I think it’s a little small right now. Think it’s a Ronny possibly. Red velour like liner.
Baller skiinxs Posted July 26, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2021 Best vest ever! No weight, doesn't puck up any water weight, and has STRAPS that buckle instead of zippers that open up when you need it the most! I would gladly pay double for a new one over the current "top of the line" vests!
Baller bko Posted July 26, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 26, 2021 Lasts forever. But makes my torso too stiff...
Baller skibrain Posted July 27, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2021 Happy to own two! They do last. I think I’ve had mine for 12+ years. Like everything else, keep them out of the sun.
Baller buoyboy1 Posted July 27, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2021 I had an ONeill Boost vest that was very similar. Wore it for nearly 15 years and also wish a company still made that style. If anyone has a Large collecting dust that is still in decent shape let me know.
Baller adkh2oskier Posted July 27, 2021 Baller Share Posted July 27, 2021 I resurrected my old one recently. Not pretty but totally usable. Stitched some nylon glove straps to replace shoulder panels.
Baller A_B Posted July 28, 2021 Author Baller Share Posted July 28, 2021 @VONMAN I stand corrected. There were two new unused Ultra Vests in existence when I posted. You now have the only one. Mine has been wet several times now and working like a champ!
Baller_ MISkier Posted July 28, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted July 28, 2021 @A_B, in addition to using the vest (and thereby spoiling the pristine collector condition of it), I believe replacing the original "numbers matching" side and shoulder panels has reduced its market value. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller A_B Posted July 28, 2021 Author Baller Share Posted July 28, 2021 @MISkier I consider it customized! If you were my size it’s priceless!
Baller Sethro Posted August 23, 2021 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2021 I have a brand new one of these as well. I think I’ll try to find someone to make bigger panels, as this one doesn’t come close to fitting.
Baller BS74 Posted August 23, 2021 Baller Share Posted August 23, 2021 Best vest ever, is there anything out there that is similar?
Baller A_B Posted August 24, 2021 Author Baller Share Posted August 24, 2021 @Sethro I made my shoulder straps a little longer than the original XL. My neck to waist seems to have gotten longer over time....
