Dryfarmer
That certainly is a Tug boat.
Baller RAWSki Posted November 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 24, 2021 Don't be mean @Keith_Menard it looks better than a SN at least in CG form! But cover it with SeaDeck and who knows!?? ;-)
Baller_ MISkier Posted November 24, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted November 24, 2021 I think it needs more freeboard. There is only 4 or 5 feet of it now. The worst slalom equipment I own is between my ears.
Baller Dacon62 Posted November 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 24, 2021 Some initial responses, Lots of room with no middle box! Must have a lot of vertical room between the hull and the floor to fit the drive to the prop? Weird that it’s not an open bow. Did anyone that has boating connections even consult on this project? Like the run time between charges. ?? This thing is gunna be expensive…$300k+?? Doubt it will be light enough to cater to the slalom crowd. Baller Nater Posted November 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 24, 2021 No pylon! Put Parrish behind it and try to drive a straight line….. ???
Baller Cooper_Trelawney Posted November 24, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 24, 2021 A pylon can be added I bet. That makes me curious about the weight of all those batteries, displacement and wake characteristics. It would be a trip to see someone ripping through the course without the usual roar of the engine.
Baller igkya Posted November 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 25, 2021 it's ridiculous looking for sure, but what's the battery recharge rate? I recently heard of a car battery charger that can recharge a battery in ~ 5min, about the same time it takes to fill a tank of gas. If true, that may be an option in the future of electric boats, depending on several factors, i.e. cost for one.

Baller Broussard Posted November 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 25, 2021 The final production product almost never looks exactly like the concept drawings .
Baller_ DW Posted November 25, 2021 Baller_ Share Posted November 25, 2021 Not so sure I am thrilled they made the hull from a conductor (aluminum) instead of an insulator (fiberglass). Just sayin’
Baller B_S Posted November 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 25, 2021 Hey, at least it doesn't have those MC Hefer Hips!
Baller DavidN Posted November 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 25, 2021 If you could buy the drivetrain separately, it would make for a nice project fitting that into a real ski boat hull. But wait, then there is the Zero off hurdle. Nevermind, scratch that idea then. ?
Baller B_S Posted November 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 25, 2021 @DavidN as I understand it, which I admit may be wrong, Zero Off should be much easier to implement in an electric drive train.
Baller DavidN Posted November 25, 2021 Baller Share Posted November 25, 2021 @B_S That’s most likely true. Still someone has to program it and that won’t be happening unless 3 event boats go electric at some point.
