Reposted from @usawwf We're heartbroken to hear about the passing of one of our great water ski champions and 1982 Water Ski Hall of Fame Inductee Liz Allan Reid.

 

From the time she won two event victories in her first national championships at the age of 11 in 1962, Liz had amassed an incredible competitive record. In 13 seasons, she won 42 national titles and never failed to win at least two in any year. Three times Liz make a clean sweep of all three events in the Nationals, once a Junior Girl, once in the Women's Division competition, and a third time after the creation of the Open Divisions.

I knew she was a legend in the sport, but had no idea how many titles she won.

Great photo and write-up. Must have been incredible to know her, both back in her competitive days and during that time master-gardening. Peace to her family.

I had the chance to get to know her. Bruce used to train at our lake here in Canada. They came up and stayed a couple years ago, she was such a great person.

Oh my when you say amazing the name Liz Allen Reid should go to the top of the list.

I’ve only asked for a few autographs in my lifetime but hers was one I really wanted. It hangs on my wall today. My prayers go out to the family. She was an amazing lady and she will be greatly missed but always remembered.
