Baller skispray Posted August 19, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2022 Just starting this thread to say the Joel Poland edition of the Radar Graviton is awesome, and it’s nice to see because I’m a little bored with the relatively vanilla ski graphics that are so common these days across the board. I also think it’s cool that they’ve done an edition associated with one of their athletes. Just doesn’t seem to happen in this sport but I dig this. Baller Cooper_Trelawney Posted August 19, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2022 I just showed this photo to my 10 yr old and she said it's the coolest looking ski ever. I think Radar is on to something here.
Baller nautique1228 Posted August 19, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2022 Love it! Didn’t get down to nationals until Thursday and they were all gone, really wanted to see one in person.
Supporting Member Than_Bogan Posted August 19, 2022 Supporting Member Share Posted August 19, 2022 I'm guessing if it looks dumb to a guy in his 50s, Joel nailed it! :) But seriously, that looks dumb... ;)
Baller BKistler Posted August 19, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 19, 2022 I actually liked the other new design better, but I’m an old fart. I think they call it steel blue. Sort of buttoned- down conservative but classic good looks.
Baller DaveD Posted August 20, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2022 @Than_Bogan @BKistler I don't think old slalom skiers (and pole vaulters) is the target market for this ski. I think 12 year old rippers think it's cool.
Baller jhughes Posted August 20, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 20, 2022 The key is going to be to convince the 50-something backyard slalom group that trick will improve their slalom! Then they will fly out the door. Notice that many slalom pros can casually trick a few thousand points from doing it as kids. I bet many stance and core movement dynamic issues really show up on trick.
Baller BigRed Posted August 21, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 21, 2022 Tricking is incredibly hard to learn when you are older, heavier and have less mobility. Trust me ? Maybe to get the 50 something’s involved, radar could make a bigger version. Something around 48-50”, and keep the price in line with their current ski. A Joel-edition 50” trick would be something I’d be in line for.
Baller BKistler Posted August 27, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2022 Here’s the other new design. Love it.
Baller BigRed Posted August 27, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2022 Nice and clean looking for sure. But at 6’4” and 260lb, it’s never going to happen for me. My son has a D3 44” hard edge and it’s too sketchy, lol. The big (maybe too big??) Goode ski is cool, but I just can’t fork over the asking price, especially with no guarantee I would ski well enough on it to justify the purchase. Baller hemlock Posted August 27, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2022 What does Radar recommend for bindings for the graviton? I was thinking a pulse boot and the trick RTP. Does the pulse boot also need a plate to mount? Can the RTP be rotated for different front feet?
Baller BigRed Posted August 27, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2022 Not sure on the pulse boot but I know the trick rtp can be mounted in either direction
Baller BKistler Posted August 27, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 27, 2022 Skier’s choice. Most skiers these days use a hard shell boot such as Reflex or a Wiley Trick Wrap. RTP can be rotated either direction. The Graviton has a forward mounting position for hands and a rear mounting position for toes or hands and toes. Baller unksskis Posted August 29, 2022 Baller Share Posted August 29, 2022 I prefer the T Factor over the Wiley's trick wrap on mine.

Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted September 5, 2022 Baller_ Share Posted September 5, 2022 We need an "Agent K" 48" to keep the aliens in check. C'mon @brooks! If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
Baller BigRed Posted September 5, 2022 Baller Share Posted September 5, 2022 Radar would be THE company to make a ski like that exist!
Baller Fatroll Posted September 5, 2022 Baller Share Posted September 5, 2022 @DaveD, my 12 year old asked for this ski for Christmas. Hard to not spend the money when he tries to ski every day. He's on a heavily repaired Connelly from the early 90s right now.
Baller BKistler Posted September 5, 2022 Baller Share Posted September 5, 2022 I demoed the one I posted above and I like it a lot. I’m probably going to buy it.
Baller chrislandy Posted September 6, 2022 Baller Share Posted September 6, 2022 I'd say they nailed the graphics, my 11yr old took one look at it and wants it
Baller Hallpass Posted September 7, 2022 Baller Share Posted September 7, 2022 Smart marketing. If you want to get kids into it young, give them graphics that catch their attention. Put their hero's on skis and boards that they would want to buy.
