Baller Stevie Boy Posted February 20, 2023 Baller Share Posted February 20, 2023 Hello, Good People, I hope your preparations for the new season are going well. I would like to ask if the 2023 Vapor Pro is a better choice than the 2022 Vapor Pro, following amendments made to the ski, or is there little difference, has anybody skied on both or can give a measured response. I have heard different things, but Hortons review, of the 2023 Vapor Pro, seems to be positive, some people, not all people may I add, that I spoke to, were not too sure about the 2022 Vapor Many Thanks
Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted February 21, 2023 Baller Share Posted February 21, 2023 @Stevie Boy the 2023 vapor is a refined version of the 2022, so I would recommend going with the 23. It’s the 2nd year of that shape, so it’s a smaller change, but To answer your question I would say it’s the better ski. it’s the same ski/shape the only thing we did was we did a softer layup especially through the tip, that allows it to move through the backside of the turn more automatic. I think you’ll find you would like that more so. Radar Skis Follow Instagram
Baller MichaelWiebe Posted February 21, 2023 Baller Share Posted February 21, 2023 I have the 22 and 23. The 23 turns even faster. Very nice.
Baller Ali Posted February 21, 2023 Baller Share Posted February 21, 2023 agreed on 23 being better than 22 and I really liked the 22. Feels very similar just a little smoother and tip down on the offside for me.
Baller Stevie Boy Posted February 22, 2023 Author Baller Share Posted February 22, 2023 Because there is no Demo available in my location, based on Hortons review and the comments above, I have taken a leap of faith and spent a considerable amount of my hard earned cash, very pretty ski, blue/white. My only disappointment was that there were no Radar Socks in the Box !

Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted February 22, 2023 Baller Share Posted February 22, 2023 @Stevie Boy I would go Short/Deep to start. Radar Skis Follow Instagram
Baller Stevie Boy Posted March 29, 2023 Author Baller Share Posted March 29, 2023 @ColeGiacopuzzi Hi the water temp here is about 8 degrees at the moment, 2023 Vapor Pro 67, little reluctant to turn, any suggestions regarding fin settings. Thanks
Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted March 29, 2023 Baller Share Posted March 29, 2023 @Stevie Boyobviously cold water affects how the ski turns along with a number of things. A couple of things you can do: Fin back would be one of the first things I would do. Fin deeper Move bindings back a 1/16 or an 1/8. This keeps more ski out of the water in the preturn to help add some space. Any of those will help. I'm not a huge fan of tuning my ski for colder water, if I do; I usually only do the first one which is move the fin back. Baller ETskier Posted March 29, 2023 Baller Share Posted March 29, 2023 8 degrees!!!! Is that Cenitgrade or Fahrenheit? I'm thinking take the fin out. Might slide over the ice and snow easier. Ha. 1
Baller coach3 Posted March 30, 2023 Baller Share Posted March 30, 2023 @Stevie Boywhere is the water breaking in the preturn? and what is Bf?
Baller Stevie Boy Posted March 31, 2023 Author Baller Share Posted March 31, 2023 @coach3 I will have a look next time I ski, the weather here has been awful, apart from being chilly, the last 10 days or so have been windy with rain. Front Tfactor with RTP running stock numbers short and deep
Baller coach3 Posted April 1, 2023 Baller Share Posted April 1, 2023 If the water break is too far back in the preturn, then LS will help that a bit and you can run bindings a little forward and still get tail smear.
Baller Chris Rossi Posted April 3, 2023 Baller Share Posted April 3, 2023 @Stevie Boyi would suggest try the long/shallow set up before making changes to the short deep. See which base setting feels like a better starting point. Then reach back out. What is your current water temp?
Baller Stevie Boy Posted May 4, 2023 Author Baller Share Posted May 4, 2023 @ColeGiacopuzzi Hi there, after claiming the 2023 was not turning for me , I rechecked the fin which was incorrect, the ski now turns, may be a little too much, not the smoothest of hook up, (sometimes but not consistent) I would like to back it off just a little, are we looking at a fin adjustment or binding movement ? still on stock Short and Deep Many Thanks Stevie
Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted May 4, 2023 Baller Share Posted May 4, 2023 @Stevie Boy I would move the fin back a touch, 5 thousandths, that will lock the tail a bit so it doesn’t slide as much, should take away that overturn feeling. Let me know how it goes. Radar Skis Follow Instagram
Baller gmut Posted July 17, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 17, 2023 @ColeGiacopuzzi can you give me short and deep fin settings for a 69" 2022 Senate Pro and binding location. Currently skiing at 34 mph.
Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted July 17, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 17, 2023 @gmut I would definitely recommend running long/shallow. L/S numbers are magic on that ski. 31.25 6.940 2.460 .765 9 Radar Skis Follow Instagram
Baller gmut Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 @ColeGiacopuzzi You were spot with those fin settings for the Senate Pro. What a difference moving from deeper 2.485 shorter 6.865 to the shallower longer. it really freed the ski up. I have one more question. I use a T factor front boot and the heel is very similar to the Radar front boot heel. Should I measure the binding placement from the heel(plastic) of the front boot to the tail of the ski or the heel rubber? I think that if you are using Radar boots it is the heel(plasticc) of the front boot.
Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 (edited) @gmut Nice!!! yeah we’ve found that those numbers work much better when setting up senate pros! I’m pretty confident on T factors you measure from the heel rubber not the plastic trim. Edit: I just checked their website to be sure and that is correct it is heel rubber. Baller MDB1056 Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 (edited) Interesting- I was told by D3 on tfactors to measure from the plastic trim Edited July 18, 2023 by MDB1056
Baller skibrain Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 D3 binding position.
Baller MDB1056 Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 Yes D3 now just did confirm for me after inquiring that the correct measurement for tfactors is as @skibrain shows to the heel rubber, not the trim. Very glad this thread is here and this was shown, as again I had set mine based on trim per the staffer instructions. That's a huge difference! Guess I can blame a portion of my problems on binding out of placement - At least til next time I ski
Baller skibrain Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 @MDB1056 it’s only a 1/2” binding move. 😳 well, 15/32” if you use micro just.
Baller MDB1056 Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 @skibrain- yes I do use Microjust. Great product. That is a big change though
Baller gmut Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 @ColeGiacopuzzi Well Cole you are on a roll! My friend has a 2023 68" Vapor Pro. RFF skier. Where should he start with his fin and binding location? 34 mph skier with Reflex front binding.
Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted July 18, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 18, 2023 @gmut I would start at Deep/short stock I have had a lot of luck starting people there. 30.25 6.860 2.485 .760 9 Radar Skis Follow Instagram

Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted July 19, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 19, 2023 @gmut for sure. Any senate pro I would start at L/S. For 67: 30.25 6.940 2.460 .765 9 Radar Skis Follow Instagram
Baller Windsurfnut Posted July 20, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 20, 2023 What about LFF at 32 MPH on a '22 Vapor Pro?
Baller ColeGiacopuzzi Posted July 20, 2023 Baller Share Posted July 20, 2023 @Windsurfnut Idk what size you're on, but I would start with stock short/deep on vapor and then make adjustments from there if need be.
