Baller chrislandy Posted March 21 Baller Share Posted March 21 Is this throttle wear normal? 1600hrs on a 2015 prostar. The lock doesn't work pushing forwards. Is the groove from wear or was it designed with a groove and its worn more?
Baller Mastercrafter Posted March 21 Baller Share Posted March 21 She gone, it's worn out. I replaced one at 1800 hours, same thing. Tried to find you a link to lever only, but all I'm seeing is the complete throttle/shift assembly.
Baller chrislandy Posted March 22 Author Baller Share Posted March 22 I thought it might be, I couldn't find the ring and latch separately either. I'm going to try braising some filler material onto the latch and filling the ring groove with metal epoxy putty to hopefully see it though until I can find a replacement
Baller jpwhit Posted March 22 Baller Share Posted March 22 Are those parts aluminum? If they are Aluminum, then Tig welding would be the best way to go. That latch piece looks pretty simple to make. If you don't have the equipment needed to make one, send me a drawing with dimensions and I'll make you one on my CNC machine.
Baller BraceMaker Posted March 22 Baller Share Posted March 22 The older ones are some sort of cast aluminum. On our old MC morse control I filed it flat and glued a flat scrap of hobby store brass to it. then drilled it and counter sunk and peened a rivet to keep that from coming loose. slightly beveled the edges flattened the rivet with the file and then cleaned up the pocket with a small dremel burr to square it up a bit. I picked brass thinking it could be sacrificial but havent gone in to inspect for wear and that was many years ago.
