  1. I bought my Malibu here in California. 550 hours and a fair price. Put it in a salt water lagoon 15 minutes away in February. This year so far has been one of the most fun in my life. Waterskiing so close 3-4 days per week. I rinse and power wash boat and trailer with salt away. Installing a closed system this winter, which will protect the engine but not the risers or headers. Lots of good information on Malibu crew.com. Being able to ski regularly and close is priceless. Non galvanized trailer will be toast in 5 years because it is tubing. c channel trailers fair better and galvanized c channel is the way to go. My ski buddies boat is a 20 year old mastercraft with mostly salt usage. He has replaced the risers and trailer parts but still runs well. So what is it worth? I wouldn't trade this year waterskiing for the price of the boat.
  2. Nice pups. Looks like my wife's Cavachon. What breed is the small one? 65 air temp at Carlsbad Lagoon and 72 water. Tomorrow 7 am ready to go. I am just a beginner at 55 years. Went from bad back with the Big Daddy and the Ezi up handle and rope on the tower a year ago. Now I am skiing 3-4 days per week on the Carbon V and loving every second. Even doing Yoga. There by the grace of skiing go I. I am going to Acapulco next month. Thanks for Ball of Spray!
  3. Carlsbad Lagoon water temp 70 air temp at 7 am 65. One other boat. Nice
  4. Sport Tube. The ski gets sideways on the conveyor and then gets stuck and T-boned by baggage.
  5. I am lucky to live close to Carlsbad Lagoon. It only gets better because the wakeboarders and wakesurfers are gone after September. Getting ready for Acapulco in November. Watersking 3-5 times per week and beginning yoga for the back. Hardest thing I have ever done. Never Give UP!
  6. @Bill22‌ . Sorry haven't read my PMs. I am starting to like the Carbon V a lot. The Coefficient XL is a great ski and is easier to turn for me. The Carbon V is forcing me to work on my form and getting the weight on my front foot into the turn. I am going to keep it.
  7. These are a little pricey at $ 329. Almost 3x the cost of 4 VP jugs. Overtons Fuel Daddy. http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Overtons-Fuel-Daddy&i=98279
  8. Mine never dumps fuel. Put the hose in the orifice(couldn't pass this one up). Put the can on its side vent up and then open the vent slowly. I never have had gas come out the vent.
  9. I like these racing fuel jugs from VP. They are listed as 5 gallon but I get 6 gallons in them. They dump fuel fast. You can make a ply wood rack and haul 4 on a dolly. Amazon.Com. VP racing. Can find them for as low as 27 each
  10. Sampson and Delilah...I would not risk the super human strength! 17 So he told her everything. “No razor has ever been used on my head,” he said, “because I have been a Nazirite dedicated to God from my mother’s womb. If my head were shaved, my strength would leave me, and I would become as weak as any other man.”
  11. @Bill22‌ true about the RTP. I had to go to the RTP. Next step for me is to try to transition to the double boot. Carbon V I bought for 479 to try. Used 3 runs. Sell for 389 plus shipping 25.
  12. I have been on a Triumph 69" and have been transitioning to a 69" hO Coefficient SL. The deep starts have been difficult because the ski is 1 inch narrower, but the turns are amazing. The main thing I have found with deep starts is get the ski as flat to the water as possible. Tuck that rear foot up and pressure on the forward foot. I found for me, I need a progressive start or my arms are ripped off or I fly over the top of the ski. I use the power grip. Say in gear, get that ski flat to the water as the boat pulls me and hit it. I tell the driver to advance the throttle smoothly, one one thousand, two one thousand full. With the CoX I even put it up on the wake board tower at first(Wimpy I know) to get the feel for the ski. Any performance ski is going to be narrower and harder to get up on except for a Carbon V or a Wide ride. I have a Carbon V for sale. Easier to get up on for sure. It is a 34 MPH ski.
  13. I am using the HO Attacks. Since I have been having trouble with deep starts I tried out a Carbon V because it is wider and found it less forgiving and harder for me to turn. So it really made me appreciate the Coex SL. I love the ski and Horton's review and Steve from Pacific Slalom like this ski. Ditto. I think I found the ski the rest is up to me. I used the Triumph to work me up to the Coex.
  14. If that happened to a bag. That would have been your ski in two pieces.
  15. Thanks! How are you liking your CoeX, I had some trouble getting up on my CoX SL. Because of the narrowness. Now that I have it figured out I am loving the speed and how wide it gets.
  16. Does anyone have the settings for a 2012 Coefficient SL 69"
  17. The problem with bags and soft cases are when your ski gets sideways on the conveyor it can get jammed. Then it can get T-boned by luggage and snapped in half.
  18. I use the sport tube 3 because I can fit 2 to 3 skis. The 2 will only fit 2 jammed in tight. Wayfair sent me a 2 by mistake. I used it kept the box and stickers and sent it back and got the 3. They paid for return shipping and wrote off the shipping. Great company. I bought a beast duffle roll around luggage for Europe. By the time I got around paying for it the price drop and they gave me the discount even though it was in my cart for the higher price.
  19. @wetskier I see there are other companies selling the chord lord but what is their minimum order?
  20. Fluid motion sells an easy pull chord lock. Sometimes it is hard to get your finger on that wheel lock and pull up to loosen. This should do the trick. http://www.jagersport.com/product_info.php?cPath=88&products_id=347 $ 9.95 for two
  21. I have been struggling with this since I returned to skiing last summer along with related back issues. I am LFF, both feet in, and RTP, 54 years old. Recently I have been doing better due to getting more weight on the front foot and the ski tucked up and more flat to the water. A recent suggestion to switch to the power grip really helped also. I say "in gear to take up slack" then " hit it" to go. Progressive power helps. Before I was OTF or getting the handle ripped out of my hands. Sucks!
  22. Sorry to hear that. Your video is an inspiration to me! Lost 12 lbs so far 20 more to go! Thanks!
  23. Ordered mine today. Pulled a calf muscle on an OTF. With RTP and Attack that did not come out. Limping around all weekend and not skiing. If is was my Achillies tendon it would have cost me 10 k plus in lost work. I would have paid the $ 400 just to go out and ski three days! 10% discount before May 31st was nice! Thanks @mmosley899‌
  24. Paper route Oakland Tribune 10 years old. Collected payments door to door in The hills of Oakland, California after dark. Yikes!
