  1. How does the Freeride compare to the Triumph? Can you go slower with the Freeride than the Triumph? My Triumph feels like it is sinking slower than 30 mph. Just thinking of a ski to learn the course at slower speeds. Plus it sounds fun! Not sure it is worth the $ 369. Thoughts?
  2. Seaspecs.com. Never used them for waterskiing but after losing my Ray Bans on a high speed jetski wipeout, I switched to their jet specs. Never lost them.
  3. I couldn't find any information on Parker Staver at Newberry Springs. Any contact information? Thanks
  4. Yeah. I am so pleased with the diamond hull. Skied behind all of the boats at California Watersports. The Malibu was always my favorite. The wake is perfect. Price was good for a boat that was going in salt. Just upgraded the perfect pass. Skied hard today to build up endurance. Hopefully, ready to ski the course soon.
  5. Hello, Craig Huenergardt from Vista, Ca. I am a dentist in Oceanside, CA and work three days per week. I am 54 years old and ski a 69" Triumph with Attack Bindings and a 69"HO Coefficient XL with Attacks. I never skied regularly as a child. I used to beg my dad to take me. He had a friend with a boat at Clear Lake, CA. In college I had an inflatable Zodiac with a 40 hp out board that would pull me up on a single ski at 212 lbs. Interesting to have your ski boat in your apartment closet. Lake Perris and Lake Silverwood while I was in dental school at Loma Linda. At Lake Perris you would cut and see a wall of green algae. Many trips to Ensenada, Baja and skiing behind the Zodiac and with the dolphins. We would ski right outside the breakers early morning. Last spring 2013 I started buying tows at California Watersports for $78 per tow with a 12 half hour card. More like 5 minutes at first. Back problems slowed me down and I bought Fluid Motions harness which helps take the pressure off my back. I got addicted to it and had a patient with a boat at the lagoon who took me for tows. I could see that $78 a few times a week was going to get expensive quick. So I bought a 1999 Malibu Response LX. Skied three times today! Loving it. Never skied the course. Always looking for people to drive the boat and to ski with.
  6. I am loving my Malibu Response LX. Wake is great!
  7. Just got solar for my home in North County San Diego. The ROI for my investment is 4.5 years to pay for the cost to install. After that my electric bill is essentially free. I will be saving $ 550 per month or $ 6,600 per year. Plus Socal rates are expected to go up another 25%. My panels are Axitech made in Germany. Expected output at 25 years at 85% and around 80% at 40 years. Each panel is monitored and optimized for peak output. It would be great to put in a system for the pump and all 6 homes.
  8. Still available. Installing Perfect Pass Upgrade and Z Box this weekend. Skied the Lagoon Friday. Fair conditions. Also, a skier/ driver for gas $$$ would work. I have Fridays thru Mondays off and Tues-Thursday evenings after 5 available. PM me if interested.
  9. Another option is Carlsbad Lagoon. I keep my Malibu stored there. For me it's 10 minutes away. Weekdays very few users. Weekends have to be out of the water by 8:30 am during spring and summer. 45 minute to 1 hour drive from Irvine.
  10. Boat US does both of my boats. Fishing and waterski boats.
  11. Just bought this one for the Carlbad Lagoon. 1999 Malibu Response LX. 15,500.
  12. Put on that wetsuit and review that ski! Can't wait for your review.
  13. I read the review and waiting for more info. How does it compare to the 2012-13 model?
  14. Got up on the Coex SL several times this last year. It does go crazy wide without any effort. Hurt my back so back to the Triumph until I get my strength back. Almost ready!
  15. Just got the boat today. Very clean and well maintained. Interior looks great. Having the boat serviced, tuned up and closed cooling installed before it goes in salt. It is doable on my own, but having a partner to share costs has always been beneficial. I have a fishing boat with three partners. Need to make sure each partner is a clean freak and has the $$. I live 10 min away and nice to ski often. Looking to up my skill level and fitness level. Carlsbad Lagoon is the best game in town. Also has a course, but not ready for it yet.
  16. I am 54 years old and early intermediate skier looking to ski in Carlsbad Lagoon several times per week. Boat partnership available. See ad below. http://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/boa/4316730593.html
  17. I really liked the new Triumph. I could feel the ski getting squirrely when I tried to stand up out of the ball position. Couldn't lean back quick enough before I went over the top. So getting close. I went from a big daddy this spring with an easy up handle to a Triumph 71" then bought a triumph 69" double boot attack bindings. My wife likes the Triumph also so I thought I would move up. So maybe moving up too quickly and changing from the easy up handle to a reg handle and also to a new ski is too much all at once. I might try the CoXL with the easy up and a rear toe plate and throw the Triumph in the boat for back up. Frustrating when I was getting up consistently on the Triumph.
  18. I picked up a Blem CoXL off eBay for best offer of $ 375. He may go lower. 10 available Trying to step up from the Triumph 69 to CoXL. First time out today deep starts harder due to less surface area. Any hints?
