  2. @jcwaterskiparadise we have been working on this at Jolly Ski for 2 years in an effort to divide our lake. There are several options out there and, admittedly, none specific to water skiing. I have been submerging in the strange and variegated world of "wave attenuators" for a while now. The three main points I gathered which might be helpful: Mass of the attenuator is the most important aspect to consider to avoid lake1->lake2 waves Shape of the attenuator is crucial to avoid lake1->lake1 waves Anchoring is going to be essential. Weight/complexity of the anchors will increase with higher weight of the attenuator Not to be confused with its mass Our first tests last year were with concrete floating pontoons by Ingemar. These were modified by attaching adjustable bolted shores using fiberglass. In short, the more we were improving shape, the better (i.e., more expensive) anchoring required. We abandoned the project in the testing phase as the price of anchoring made the whole divider 3x more expensive. We are currently evaluating the Wahoo Wave by Wahoo Docks. Judging by the video you see on the page, it looks super super promising. I am in constant communication with them and hoping the estimate I receive is good enough to make a trip somewhere to test it :) I don't know much about your project but it all comes down to how good of water conditions you need.

  10. As a former Chili Cookoff champion, I would be very interested to know who the 2022 champ was :)
  11. @03RLXi in my estimation, the most important coaching there is to grow the sport. The experiences you provide can create passion and new skiers
  12. @03RLXi welcome to the revolution! We have had so much success in introducing people to the sport with the HoverCraft. More importantly, we have retained skiers, and taught them the proper technique and slalom course on HoverCraft before moving on to Freeride or Omni. I personally ride it when I just want to take a break and do some fun turns (course or free) and not having to worry about buoy count or tournaments. That said, it is remarkable how the feelings I have on it at 34kmh are strikingly similar to short like at 58kmh. Enjoy!
  13. Ballers, We are getting the office clean and ready for new material to test. This means cheap demo skis in good conditions for a good price. We are currently selling two 67" Omega Mark II ($800 each), a 68" Omega Mark II ($900, barely used), and a 67" Omega Mark I ($600, 2020 graphics).Feel free to write here or DM for more info

Sit back and enjoy this interview as Matteo asks Chelsea about her beginnings and days in tennis, and how the experiences in that sport helped her shape her current waterski career. Chelsea shared key moments in her athletic journey, some negative and some positive, leading up to the raise in pro skiing she has had in the last comple of years. Some of the highlights include her first Pro Tour win at the 2021 San Gervasio Pro Am and a tremendous score of 1 buoy at 10.25m (41off) at the Mc Skis Fall tournament. The two friends also about John Worden's journey into Technical Control, how Zack learned from dad, and the continuation of this work by Zack and Jon Travers (see EP80) after John's passing. 21. Also Natalie Hamrick in 2006 in Recetto
  22. Thank you all for the interest and clarifications in the thread. @BraceMaker by Waterski Pro Tour Framework, stars are attributed to disciplines (e.g., Men's Jump, Women Tricks, etc) that have at least $12k. For every $3k increment, another star is attributed. Although it is not mandatory to have both Women and Men, we have an incentive system for stars. That is, if the stop has both Women and Men at the event, the disciplines receive an extra star (e.g, San Gervasio Pro Am had $12k for M and $12k for W, so each discipline is 2 stars). Additionally, disciplines within an event cannot be of more than one star difference (i.e., $3k). That being said, we conceded two exception this year where the gap was bigger. Each case was examined individually and it was deemed appropriate to not punish the organizer or risk the removal of a discipline as a result. @Than_Bogan It was very interesting to see how 1) the star incentive to have both W and M seemed enough to have all events with W and with higher money than before. Also, 2) curious to see how organizers are "fighting" for star recognition ;)

  25. @Horton you basically stumbled upon the process I try to go through when I am coaching someone. Firstly, by thinking about one movement/feeling that lends to take care of other aspects you might have worked on. Importantly, you kept an external locus of attention ;)
