I would love to find a fresh 67 Sixam 1.0. Is one of the all-time great skis.

Interesting - My regular ski buddy still is skiing his 67.5 Sixam 1.0  - it still rips.  I keep thinking he should upgrade but he doesn't like change

  2. I'm a 15-22 off skier.  I didn't read the other comments yet but I will give my thoughts.  What are you looking for different in the newer boat - is it Zero Off?  Have you tried Z Box?   I have Z Box on my 2003 Sunsetter LXi and my ski partner has it in his 2005 Response LXI.   PP 9.3 and Z Box works well.  I think both of these boats are great at 15 off and typical at 22 off.   After skiing most boats that exist I think your response is 90% as good as any of them at those lengths.

At our ski lake we have most of the boats you mentioned.   I feel like the 1st Gen 200 is my favorite boat to ski behind but it is a close toss up to the 2014-2020 hull Mastercraft's that are also there.   We have a newer Prostar and I don't feel that it skis as well as the 14-20 hull but we might just have a 1 off there.

i would rate them in this order

    1-Nautique 200 2010-2018,  Nautique 196 TSC2/TSC3 with zero off

    2-Prostar 2014-2020

    3-Prostar 2021+

have not skied Nautique 200 2019+ hull,  have not skied the new TXi

  3. that price is too high.  That boat would be worth 10k to me as it is - old Perfect Pass and obsolete gauges.    If it has the diamond hull then it will ski good - the 2001 Sunsetter VLX has that hull and this might as well.

But a 99-04 Sunsetter LXI direct drive like I have will be many times better of a boat unless you have to have a V-Drive.

  4. i would say 16-18k - you will need to upgrade the PP to Stargazer which would require a new display - that is going to be close to $1000 and all that stuff that does with it is pretty useless.   Wake might be slightly impacted with heavier engine - pretty sure that would have been a engine a barefooter would want.     For reference a friend bought a 196 with 5.8 of same era for 10k a few years ago.     Pretty boat!

So.... I have the opportunity to purchase the 69" Union ski. And whilst I was set on getting the Senate I think I will start with the union and then progress onto a Senate or something similar.

My next question..... just stick the prime package or go with the vector boa?

So which one did you end up getting?

  6. I have a Theory, which is a similar ski, and it is happier at 28-30 mph.  26 is about a low and I can ski it without feeling like I'm dragging.  Give the ski some time I think you will really like it and make sure you are putting enough weight on your front foot by putting your knee over your front toe.

I also have a Session in my arsenal

  7. If none of the normal things fix it look at getting the fuel injectors cleaned ultrasonically.   I had to do this to my 03 Malibu that had a weird hesitation but ran great at all other times.

In my case I did my filter, fuel lines, pickup and screen at the bottom of the fuel pump first.  Ruled out the fuel pump by hooking a gauge while i was boating to watch the pressure.

I just told my neighbor about this ski.   His daughter is 8 and just learned slalom this summer on a really wide ski 52" ski.  Is this ski pretty stable for that age?   I would guess she is 70 lbs
