  1. Matt's is definitely the closest. But, we are a really easy drive from Kissimmee. We can do just ski rides as well as coaching.
  2. @Rose33 feel free to message me directly with any questions, especially if you demo the XT20. I've spent a lot of time in that boat. Happy to help however I can.
  3. That XT is actually a good surf boat. And, has the most adjustability of any of the waves, not to mention if you want to ski behind it you still can. A Malibu with no service tech. I think you have your answer on that one.
  4. CP is alive and well! He's been skiing with us quite a bit at The Boarding School. Definitely a fun dude to have around.
  5. I just love the fact that wakeskating is getting talked about this much on here.
  6. I have a few guys that are storing them at The Boarding School, and making a few trips to visit them over the winter. Seems like the best way.
  7. @WaterSkier12 we have a power and water hookup under a shady oak tree 75 from the dock.
  8. @mylemsky This week. He's been trying lots of things, just having fun and messing around with lots of skis, boots, different techniques, etc. It's the off season, time to have some fun.
  9. @WaterSkier12 MasterCraft put a ton up on Instagram, and has story, saved. A lot of people there put up pics and videos. I'm trying to compile them now. I end up hustling around all day and end up not documenting as much as I should.
  10. We had a great day! The weather was absolutely perfect, and we had about 35 skiers. Ranging from guys that had never skied in front of people, to Lucky Lowe, Chris Parrish, and Freddie Winter. Such a cool, eclectic, mix of people. We ended up having an absolutely amazing sunset, everyone stayed for a sit down dinner and a few drinks. It really is my favorite day on the water. Lots more of these to come.
  11. @riplash that’s the plan. It’s part of the bonding experience. Kinda like Navy Seal training, but with delicious BBQ and cold beer at the end.
  12. @Orlando76 and @Wish Sorry, it filled up on word of mouth before we had a chance to even say anything. We are capping it at 30 so as to not run all day. It's one of the things that makes BBB for fun than a regular event, it doesn't drag on for 9 hours. But, you boys are welcome to come hang out and watch some great skiing. We'll be doing another one in the spring, and I promise to open it up to the public. Going to be doing several really cool ski events at TBS next year!
  13. I just wanted to give any local Florida ballers a heads up that we will be having another Buoys, BBQ, & Beer at The Boarding School on Saturday. Unfortunately all of our spots for skiers are filled up, but if anyone would like to come out and watch some great skiing and shenanigans on the water, you are more than welcome. We really only have enough beer and food for those skiing, but if you would like to bring a cooler along to enjoy some adult libations while you're here, feel free. It's always a good time! We will be starting around noon and more than likely run until dark. Our address is: 19454 East Colonial Drive Orlando, 32820
  14. @swc5150 It really just depends. For the most part just a month or two out, but we do already have several weeks in April and May that are already full. You can email me travis@theboardingschool.com if you have any other specific questions or dates in mind. Thanks, T
  15. Jay, Great having y'all. And, looking forward to seeing you and your son in April! Hopefully the Vermont winter will take it easy on you. Thanks, T
  16. From my perspective things are growing. We are seeing more skiers come through The Boarding School each year. There are definitely a lot of "lifers" that come through, but we are also seeing a ton of guys that are converting to skiing from wakeboarding. I would say a lot of them are guys in the early 40's and beyond, that grew up skiing a bit, started wakeboarding, and are tired of getting their heads bashed in, and are converting back to skiing. But, we are also seeing guys that have only wakeboarded, and start skiing, because they want to do something more exciting than surfing. I think that, with some of the new skis that make it easier and more fun for guys to start skiing pretty much immediately, are making it more attractive to people. We are definitely seeing a bit of the collegiate surge as well, so all in all, I think it's on the up.
  17. I watched Freddie run 41’ on a 2 year old Senate with a drop in fin this week, so I’m gonna vote no.
  18. Definitely a huge loss to the community. Mark always had a smile on his face, and instantly made you feel like a friend. He came out to TBS to ski with Jerry right after we received our first ProStar in 2014. He ask me how it drove, and I asked him if he wanted to drive it. He honestly had an ear to ear smile the entire time. He was like a kid on Christmas. It's honestly something I'll never forget. He really loved the sport and all of the people in it. When we held that event for him in December, he was so thankful and so humbled. It really meant so much to him for everyone to come together on his behalf. But, it's guys like Mark that have built this sport, and it was just a fraction of the support he has given other people. So sorry to lose him.
  19. I have a 66" Strada. Let me know if you would like to see it.
  20. When converting riders to skiers I try to have them emulate a wakeboard start as much as possible. So I will have them keep their knees really bent and exaggerate how much they point the ski to the side. So for a right food forward skier, really have them point the tip right towards the shore instead of the boat, and have them stay squatted long, no pressure on the arms. Make it seem like something they know, instead of something completely new. In general I have really good luck. Just have them go easy once they are up. If someone knows how to edge on a wakeboard and tries to do the same on a ski, they’ll get smoked. Start with super easy wake crossings or even just holding a lean on the side of the boat. Good luck!
  21. She came and skied with us the day before the Malibu Open and ran it pretty easily. She is a straight badass!
