  1. @Orlando76 is right. Something Bill Gates setup, right after conspiring with the Nazis and Planned Parenthood. That’s what I heard on MySpace anyway.
  2. @Cooper_Trelawney Yep. That's Pete Bonifay. Lots of talent in that family.
  3. @mbabiash maybe 26, they did one the year before or after that was lightening bolt. Brooks can honestly ride anything. He's a freak.
  4. The best! Brooks went first and K.C. thought he was off the hook since Brooks ran the course on it. Brooks pretty much made him ski on it, and the tick tock was the ultimate peer pressure. Brooks and I both harassed him until he tried it. Remind you that the bindings were two rear toe plates.
  5. Despite the fact @Horton gives me crap about every boat I get (because they have towers), they're great. Really good for teaching beginner skiers, a huge difference it teaching people to get up on a slalom ski, great for kids and beginner wakeboarders, a necessity if you wan to do easy around the boats, much easier if you want to do 3 or 4 man slalom crossovers, the list goes on!
  6. @FWinter and I have discussed the fact that if there were some weird ass decathlon of slalom events, that Brooks would be the undisputed world champ every year. He’s a freak.
  7. Thanks. @Horton made fun of me, but this all stemmed from watching Ellen’s giveaway show one night. I looked at my wife and said, I just wanna be Ellen. So it got me thinking of what I could do, and this is what I came up with. I can’t picture what my life would look like without the generosity of my coaches Linda Giddens, Shay Langley, Ferraro, & Chet (just to name a few). They not only changed my life, they defined it. And if we can even give a glimmer of that here, I think it’s pretty special. It was impossible to narrow it down to one. Even three was tough. There were so many stories that resonated with me. It was so hard to say any one was more deserving than the next. But I had to make the cut somewhere. That being said, this is something I plan on doing every year from here on out. And I’m going to work with my partners to make it grow. Thanks for all the submissions and the support!
  8. We're incredibly excited about it. We have received a lot of great nominations already. It's going to make it pretty hard to pick a winner.
  9. Further proof that the fin doesn't matter that much. Just go ride your ski and quick screwing with it.
  10. Trust me. It’s real. Real upsetting. I’m finding it harder & harder to be his friend. Brought the new ProStar home, he ran 41’ first try. Day two, he did this. He took today off because there was nothing left to do.
  11. Maybe other beers work, but I wouldn’t mess with the process.
  12. For it to work best, get a big ass file and run that bitch down the bevel from your front foot back about 4 good times. If that doesn’t work, cut off the tail with a Swiss Army knife to make it a square tail while drinking a Coors Light. At least that’s what a Lucky used to do.
  13. @LLUSA took less than two weeks if I remember correctly. The land a 12-15’ drop from one end to the other, so they took from one side and built a damn on the other. And a e had a creek to pull water from to fill. So a diesel pump ran 24 hours a day until it was full.
  14. I'll be honest, I haven't read 99% of this thread, as I do with most threads on here(simply due to the amount of activity). But, I don't think this is new at all. Or all that elite. I would say that I started thinking of skiing like this in the 90's. To me, being super tall and stiff is so antiquated. If things are too stiff and too aligned you can no longer gain angle. You have to allow your body to accept the pull of the boat and the push of the water. If you do this you can continually gain angle. Fred is the best at it. There are times his ass is almost on the ski after the 2nd wake. But, you do have to be balanced over the ski. I remember going to training camps in the 90's and everyone was preaching the "proud look", and I was wondering what I was doing there. I've also had a few glassed of wine, so who knows.
  15. I know I'm biased, but with Brooks in charge, it has to be good! I can't imagine any other brand even comes close.
  16. Such a fun event. The format really changes things up. I’ve sat in the boat for a lot of cool things and this is as cool as it gets. It’s interesting to see how guys play it. All 6 guys chose to do some different. It’s like a mad dash for 45 minutes.
  17. I just got back from Radar and picked up a new 66". I was on a 2019 66" and definitely can say that I would not want anything bigger. I haven't skied much this summer since my boy @fwinter has been gone, but with just 2 sets on it I can say that I really like it. Really excited to have it back home and get to work. I can give a real evaluation on it later this week after using at TBS and feeling a little fresher than I do after standing around that camp fire until 2am every night. And, if gold is an option, I always pick it!
  18. I use the Babe's Seat Soap. If you need to, use a little scrub brush, it will come right out. I had a kid with new red shorts turn my white seat a nice shade of pink last month.
  19. I think of how functional it is. How much easier it teaches people to get up. Especially people on slalom skis. How I can do around the boats if I like. How it’s perfect to teach kids and beginners to wakeboard. Of how no one will put the rope in my back when they pull out to shorten. And how much joy I get for upsetting purists like @Horton
  20. @Jaypro that's half of the reason we were freaking out. Less worried about a loose hose clamp, then the world finding out which engine we had. And, yes, @markchilcutt the jumpers are loving it. Freddy had our boat for a week and said he had his biggest jump of the year at the time behind it. The best boat just got even better.
