  1. I've been fortunate to have a front row seat to Freddie's return this year. Right before Christmas he tried his first 39' with me after his injury and ran it. He and I were both smiling ear to ear. For him, I think it was a weight off of his shoulders that he was going to be able to return to where he was, and for me it was just special to be a part of the process. Over the course of this year, he's irritated that ankle numerous times. I'd say each time more frustrating than the last, but Freddie is such a strong competitor, and easily his most harsh critic. And, put his mind toward one goal, winning the Worlds. He didn't ski for most of June to let his ankle rest, but then came back more focused. Training on and off the water harder than ever, but also very calculated and smart. A week or so before the World's he told me that he thought he was on track to do really well. Well, he was right, and is skiing the best he has all year. He gets back here to The Boarding School on Tuesday. Can't wait to get back to skiing with him and see what happens over the next few years. One thing I know for sure after this year is that he is unstoppable!
  2. The Mavic is awesome! My first drone. It's pretty easy to fly, has some dummy proofing built in, and you can get insurance through dji for the first year for $99.
  3. Finally got you in something proper! Congrats.
  4. No one saw this coming more than 24 hours before people fly from all over the world to get there? It's ok. Pro skiers make tons of money and get huge travel budgets from all of their sponsors, so they shouldn't be effected much.
  5. We actually turn ours off day one. I honestly don't see the need for it, other than to annoy you.
  6. Look under the dash and see if you can locate it. It may have just slipped behind something or become partially disconnected.
  7. Skied with a guy years ago, Branson Blair, that would do a 2 ski roll, both directions, then kick a ski off, and do the same on a single. Really impressive.
  8. I've used nothing but Radar handles, personally and for the camp for the past 5 years. The hold up really well.
  9. I am really new too, and have a Mavic as well. Just starting to use it in sports mode. What I have noticed is that at the faster speeds the drone angles down a lot more, and because of that will lose some altitude, so you have to adjust a little bit to keep it constant.
  10. So funny! I'd be 100% in for him to announce an event, or at least add color commentary. Could definitely see him upsetting some purists though, which actually makes me want to announce more now that I think of it.
  11. It's the right thing to do. We all need to embrace each other, it's stupid not to. The us versus them mentality gets everyone nowhere. Today I had 3 guys slalom, 5 people wakeboard, 1 wakesurf, 1 wakeskate, and 1 barefoot. And they all were pumped on what each other were doing. It's the only way! Instead of scrapping for a little piece of pie, let's make a bigger pie.
  12. Oh snap! Congrats. You're going to love that boat!
  13. I've heard that The Boarding School is incredible! Two courses, one East/West, one North/South, the most protected lakes in Florida, great house onsite, a new ProStar, full line or Radar to demo, and Freddie Winter coaching. I'd say it's hard to pass up, but that's just me.
  14. The Chinese fingers work great, but if you pull them all the down they are a pain to loosen. I use a screw driver at the base of the loop and just pull like hell until you get them a little loosened. The plastic chain is a great idea for a quick little adjustment. I've never heard of that.
  15. The new ProStar at slower speeds is amazing. We get people all the time that will automatically adjust their body position in their first pass to a taller position, instead of bracing for impact. We had a married couple last year, that the wife started smiling half way through her first pass, and when we stopped at the end, said that it was the first time she wasn't scared of the wake. Definitely really beginner friendly.
  16. @skibackwards Devil's advocate here, I trick skied for years, and did all those flips, but 20 years later I have no idea what they're really called now, and unless you're a tournament skier you wouldn't either. But more people know those other terms. Let's no exclude the rest of the world to prove a point. The more people can relate to it, the more they'll be involved.
  17. I'll give you ski rights to my place for $180K and we have 3 lakes. That's only $60k per lake. Basically free.
  18. Congrats! Beautiful boat. Welcome to the MasterCraft family.
  19. It was really one of the most fun days I've had on the water in a long time, and definitely one of the best events I've ever been a part of. It's something that we've talked about for years, and we finally made it happen. We were all so happy with how the first one came off, and are definitely brainstorming how to keep it going and make each one more fun. Thanks to everyone that came out!
  20. I love that he did that! And, yes, just one more reason he is the greatest. Super serious when he needs to be, but also focused on having fun. @WaterSkier12 Great having you guys!
  21. @colo_skier we are a little less than an hour from Daytona, but a really easy drive. 2 courses, a new ProStar, and Freddie Winter coaching. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
