On another note... skiing is way too fast and complex to "think" your way through any improvements. You must be able to visualize how the new skill is going to look and feel in your mind before ever attempting it on the water. As you go through the movements in the course your job is to be able to visualize yourself doing the new moves as you go through them.
When trying new skills this is THE number 1 thing. ^ Whatever it takes to put a picture in your head; Practice on land, practice in front of the mirror, take video of yourself to see the movements you want to accomplish. If you can see what you're trying to do then you can start to put that picture in your mind to go out and execute it. This is one of the most underrated, unutilized skill when trying to learn new movements

Stoked to hear you're loving it @alex38 @Chris Rossi would be stoked to see that photo of the hat signed by him!

@Skiphreak You can't go wrong with either honestly, but that being said you're on the senate which would be the ski I would recommend for those speeds the most.
@lw_moskier I Agree with @Horton I would measure the Edge boot the same as reflex.

@Horton yes that is correct!👌🏽
-
@alex38 its only an 1/8 difference, but no that only applies to the difference between reflex and the new style Vapor boot.

@C5Quest you have to use smaller screws near the release so you can move the plate where you need to. I just messaged @aupatkingthe same thing.
It maybe be thicker but it doesn’t inhibit the flex of the ski. If it's any validation It’s used by some of our pro team. Also I want to say @Hortonused it as well.

I encourage everyone to go give this episode a listen. It really talks about how to work with the boat and can open some eyes on how to approach your skiing maybe in a different way. Great job by Rini, @TFIN & @Chris Rossi

Forgive me if I misunderstand, but having one single reference line on a ski doesn't change the fact that your ankle bone sits in a different place when it comes to different boots. That's why this thread was created. That's why the vapor boot is run in a different spot than the reflex.

The lakes are getting dialed in very nicely a lot of work going on!

@C5QuestThat is correct!

If you have been running a reflex and switched to a vapor boot, we found we were running the vapor boot an 1/8 forward from where the reflex was. That was the change I made when I switched.
29 1/2 on a vapor boot equals 29 3/8 on a reflex.

Yeah a bit more free exactly, I usually run my boots back a hair, I just like a bit more tail slide. The only thing I did on those settings was move my fin back from .758 and I liked it better so I stayed at .752

@C5Quest Yeah I have ridden the ski with a lot of different settings, both long/shallow and short/deep it works really good in a lot of places which is really cool. I ended up landing at for 66”

@Fjeff All of our fin numbers for DFT are using non slot calipers. What are the numbers you're using right now? Feel free to post some video or you can PM me as well and we'll get you dialed in.

@Waternut there really isn’t a wrong answer, just depends on your budget/route you want to go. Vapor is definitely still a great choice. Up until 2017 the lithium basically was our high end ski until we came out with the pro build, so it is extremely capable.
The senate would be awesome too. Having the extra width would make it feel more stable if that’s what you’re craving. It’s a toned down version compared to what you’re used to but still a very capable ski. Might be worth trying to see if you can demo one to see if you want to go that route. Hope this helps.

@MI3EventerI know this isn't exactly what you were asking for, but figured I'd post it here since its a great video on how to learn to change your fin. He breaks it down really well. How to set up a fin with Chris Rossi

@MattPI know there will be practice at the end of each day at Ski west. As far as other lakes doing practice/demos it is early on, but some lakes might do it! Hopefully we can make something work at my lake for demos. Let’s call it in the works we’ll see. Nothing set in stone.

That is a 2021 Vapor pro.
For 65” I would start at either stock deep/short or I ran these numbers and had a lot of success.

@vtmecheng Its used just like @skialex is using it; its to keep the bungee in place so it doesn't fly around and so it stays tight and doesn't loosen.
