  1. I had a super convenient deal worked out on a GT40 take out because the guy was upgrading to a 6.0 ZO. Carb'd HO ok. Long story short looks like it fell through on the sellers end. A first born baby has me on a dead line. @Jody Seal, do you have anything coming up since I last spoke to you? Thought I'd put a feeler out.
  2. I'm a noob on the course, this is my first summer on it, please forgive me for stupid question.... Is the boat lane always 7'6" wide? Is wider permitted? I'm putting together a 2nd course. We're currently skiing an older, existing course that I keep forgetting to measure but the lane seems wider than 7'6" as we drive the TSC1 through it.
  3. @ Stevie Boy, several techno guys have played with and built several successful "homemade" systems for almost peanuts. Since you already have a '99, one of the hands down best tugs ever, and space is a concern, why not buy a $10k used pontoon? I doubt you're taking the whole fam damily and toys and gear out while you are skiing the course.... That weight will ruin the wake!
  4. Good luck getting the typical seller to allow you to pull plugs. That's about rule #1 for me and this last go around I walked away from several Nautiques bc sellers wouldn't let me check numbers. I caved in on one.... And it bit me in the arse.
  5. I don't ski tournaments because: 1) I'm a lousy skier 2) I've never felt the need to compete and beat the next guy I always try to beat my PB. I do go to every tournament as a spectator within 1.5 hours of my house when I find out about them but unless I see it posted here or receive an email from Performance S & S advertising it, I don't know about it.
  6. In my friends 2000 tsc w gt40 I ski 32mph, 200lb, acme 422 prop and it sits at 3440 rpms.
  7. If a carb'd small block doesn't fire up within the first nano second of a bump on the key, you're not tuned right. It should be every bit as quick as an efi with less to fail ya.
  8. Sine you response was spot on he was Probably scrolling through on a Mobile device and swiped the flag/off topic bar on accident with his finger swipe. I've done it and not even realized it, something's too sensitive, only have the problem on this forum.
  9. Any of these still around?
  10. Oh boy, don't I feel like a cheap turd. I specifically ran my credit card this go around to see if it gave a tip option on the receipt.
  11. Is it customary to tip your coach when you go to a ski school? I've been 3 or 4 times and never thought of doing so until today.
  12. I hear ya..... I hate where my partner put ours bc wind easily affects it and would love a second course but I don't want the attention. If the water is clear enough (4'+) I'd put sub buoys in where the old 6 course is then just attach the surface buoys when you ski.
  13. try a different speed, either slower or faster, and or bump up to 22 off which will probably put you in front of the rooster. In my experience working a shorter line was easier than working a rooster.
  14. unfortunately I can't offer much advice here but I will say you aren't the only person to not get a response from Boatmate, myself included.
  15. I think giving him an opportunity to ski through the course is pretty awesome of you. Two years ago when I moved into my house across the street from a private ski lake there was a few old timers who were 38' skiers. They saw me and my Ski Nautique and came by to chit chat. Long story short I told them I was a long time skier but never been on the course and def had the desire but no access to one. They took me out once but when they realized I had truely never been in a course they wouldn't give me the time of day. So I'm familiar with being the same guy skiing into the middle of the lake with an old ski, it kinda sucks. Give him a pull, he may be willing to cover his share of fuel and then some.... And can drive. Without newbies, skiing doesn't have a future.
  16. But that 20% is hard throttle.
  17. I just bought a 93 Ski Nautique. 485 hours and it seems true. Upholstery looks like the day it left the factory, not a nick in the rub rail. Engine so clean you could eat off it. Vibrates like a jack rabbit on steroids. Bad cylinder heads and bad rings on #6. Ideally I wanted a 93 with 800 or so. It's all in how you use it/frequency of use/maintenance.... And in that order imo. I was always told 100 hours could equal 12,000 miles.
  18. I'd be curious to hear from a new course skier (such as myself) as to what they thought of the flex tail? Would their responses be along the same lines as some of you 38 offers? No difference? Or would they be too green and on a sensory overload anyways to tell?
  19. Is the banging going on at speeds above idle? Dampers are usually just a low speed issue. If the transmission is spinning when in neutral that's signs of a rebuild in your future, dirty neutrals typically get worse. I'd contact Fantastic Finish Marine.
  20. Travers too but that'll be about :50 west from heart of Orlando. Keep in mind I believe you can rent their boats by the hour without a coach.
  21. Going to Danville, VA next week to be with the inlaws and dragging the boat to SML. I'm told there's a course in the Lil Bull Run area, does anybody know if thats a current course? Does anybody know of any courses in the Greensboro area (public)? Thanks for any info.
  22. Lol, I saw that a few days ago and had a chuckle. My English teacher wife was proud.
  23. I think 7-11. I'm a size 13/14 and obviously use the 10-14 and I actually have room to spare.
