  1. Glad to welcome the 2022 Malibu Open to Tuscaloosa, Alabama at LLUSA September 30-October 1, 2022
  2. Covid doesn't chose sides. So sad
  3. We will sanction 4-5 tournaments in 2022 including Southern Regionals
  4. Can’t believe @Horton spent $3000 at regionals. You could have flown to southern regionals for $250 each (ATL) then rental car hotel was 100 a night so your out of there for less than a $1000. As for someone who has put on six regionals I think it’s important we have them for those that haven’t reached nationals yet
  5. Tadd is great, I taught that boy how to work
  6. Anybody have a copy of the Miranda crash I need it for the doctor
  7. @dvskier Reginas longest jump is 184 at the LCQ at Corys
  8. I know he’d as well as anybody, she will be back stronger and better. It’s five months to the Worlds, a 65% Regina will beat most anyone
  9. She’s out of surgery and will be going home tonight
  10. Well have your niece over, we just sent her on a one way trip to Cali
  11. Heard rumors the pavilion will be closed to officials and skiers only. Rooms have gone up nearly $75 a night, to stand on the beach and watch from afar. Heard only one side will have stands. Please tell me that ain’t true
  12. 108 hrs is nothing basically a new boat, that's why dealers don't stock these boats
  13. Lucky and I taught Arnold S how to ski when he filmed his first movie Stay Hungry on the Warrior River
  14. The last water skiing shown on ESPN was Inside the Alabama Water Ski program with Marty Smith on ESPN Gameday. It cost nothing but just loaning the Alpha Gamma Delta house to ESPN for Thanksgiving dinner. BTW great dinner
  15. @Horton it needs to stay in feet, the vast majority of the audience is in the USA, Tony's accent on 13 meters makes it sound like 30 meters
  16. Tom Strong died this morning Beloved by students, alumni and colleagues throughout the nation, Dr. “Tom” Strong offered extraordinary care and support for students throughout his stellar 38-year career at The University of Alabama. He earned two degrees from UA, including a master’s degree in guidance and student personnel, and a doctoral degree in educational administration and planning. Strong’s exemplary service included terms as the Dean of Students and Associate Vice President of Student Affairs. He provided administrative leadership for an extensive list of areas on campus. Student Recreation, Greek Life, Orientation, Student Media, Community Service, Residential Communities, the Career Center, the Counseling Center, the On Call Dean Program, Disabled Student Services, Veterans Student Services, International Student and Scholar Services, Graduate Student Services, and Parent and Family Programs are only a sampling of offices that benefited from his counsel and support. Credited as a steadfast friend to students and an example for all, his establishment of the Crimson Care program and the former Learning Skills Center demonstrated his loyalty to assisting members of the UA family. Strong is a long-time supporter of Crimson Tide athletics. He wrote the initial proposal for a women’s athletic program and served as the first director. Tom founded the UA Water Ski team. Strong also guided and mentored the UA Water Ski Team and in 2014 USAWS presented him with the award of merit. His contributions to the University will continue to have a lasting and significant impact on students of UA’s past, present and future.
  17. I trained Lucky for the 1991 Worlds that he won, we skied head to head each day with me getting a 2 mph and 6 buoy handicap, made for some intense sessions. I filled the Mastercraft with water to simulate the wakes behind the Bosch boats, also had the Kjellanders training with us. At a party right before leaving to go to Austria I guaranteed Lucky would win, and he did, as one of the first seeds out he led all day, Mapple and Kjellander went out at about 5PM and tied Lucky. They drew straws and Lucky was the last out, he ran a cold 38 off the dock to win on an EP Stilleto. Still wondering where my gold medal is
  18. I'm noit sure why you went through all of this? Either sell the boat trade it with a MC or SN dealer and be through with it, move on. I've had all three brands, actually had a SN that nobody could fix until I took it to a NASCAR shop. Had a MC that had to be completely re-gelcoated and the floor redone, on our 4th Malibu, we had very few issues. You bought a used boat, know who you are and what you are buying, lesson learned, sadly it was an expensive one. Good luck
  19. Jeff Rodgers says yes sir when we comes to my house, just sayin
  20. In R events the CJ is suppose to be in charge of the drivers, there was a CD, why he wasn't watching video or having another judge watch video I don't know, I don't operate that way, ask @Chad_Scott everyone can see our video. The CD should have done something that day unless he was the one driving, then the responsible party is the CJ. Regardless this will not stop until as @Jody_Seal said you downgrade the sanction but I believe the drivers also need to be reprimanded way more than a written letter. Just sayin
  21. This will continue to go on until the AWSA board as a whole stands up to this, I for one was very vocal about this tournament and the driving at the winter meeting. Pulling the scores is fine but until you finally make an example out of someone (pull their drivers rating for a year) it will continue to go on. If we're going to allow this then the season is open
  22. Such a tragedy, we were lucky to have Dave come in for our events, always bringing me a gift, even in his early days we worked on a mold for me, made me skis.
