  1. Wondering if there is a commercial site or anyone in need of a ski partner anytime Wednesday or Thursday morning anywhere in the Austin area?
  2. @Clydesdale After we realized the decoy was legal, we wondered about making a whole course out of them....
  3. @"Keith Menard" I bought the full Wally sinker with pre-gates two years ago. You are easily $6500 by the time all is said and done. There are some upgrades that really matter including the air bladder sleeves at about $28 per. As @bdecker mentions, the upgraded pump if you have a long fill line from shore. Personally I would substitute a stainless 2.25” snap hook anywhere a ‘plastic clip’ is mentioned in the plans. But for sure, if built properly, exactly as Wally instructs, it will work flawlessly. Wally is eager to help. 10 mins max up time, while you have coffee and plan your perfect set.
  4. @jercrane It’s crazy badass duck. You still pulling that course up there on occasion? I sank mine for winter.
  5. @jercrane one thing to note is that you have the clearest water in the world, so finding the subbuoy is easy. There are some bodies of water that will need a drag to retrieve the anchor line by perpendicular travel to the course. We use a duck decoy that is permanently floating above the sub at our fill buoy for the Wally sinker. This would work to locate the sub on any style course. While requiring a course to be raised and lowered daily, NH apparently does not require decoys to be removed.
  6. I am scheduled to be in Austin October 9,10 and would love to get a few sets. I contacted Trent and he is out of town those days. Anyone know if Aquaplex or SMRR has a commercial boat, or someone who skis regularly during the week? Happy to drive ( AWSA rated) or pay for sets. Thanks
  7. @Horton this is the first ski that had such a big change of my opener. That being said, each day is getting more comfortable and the ski is actually giving great feedbacks about my weaknesses. The rewards of good technique are huge on it.
  8. I have 5 sets on my new C75 and find that as I am getting closer to the fin setting I want for my shorter passes (32/35), my opener is getting harder to make easily. Anyone having similar results?
  9. I went from a double Radar setup to the HRT early last summer due to torn calf muscle in rear leg from non-release. It was an easy change offering a little more freedom of ankle with a solid base encompassing the entire heel. I come out of it easily and my front foot releases more consistently. buoy count went up.
  10. My strainer bowl cracked at the threads yesterday and fell completely off in my hand when checking the leak. I used a 5 minute epoxy found at any hardware store, let it sit for 2 hours, reinstalled and am back in business. Very simple fix, seems to be stronger than new.
  11. Yesterday....Canaan NH. See the Wally Sinker? Me either. A few more days.
  12. @OscawanaSkier You should be able to zoom after you save it to 'photos' app on iphone
  13. My iPhone 7 was the same and it was suggested flipping to the face camera, which is less sensitive. This solved he problem for me. Worth a try on the 10.
  14. I zip tie a small, capped gatorade bottle to the middle of the arm. Depending on the size of the bottle you may have to add some water for the right amount of flotation. This should keep the arms well within tolerance.
  15. I bought a promo OB 200 for slalom training on a public lake. Two to three sets behind a comp boat first thing in the morning while it’s quiet, then drag the kids around with their friends all afternoon. Great utility for the family.
  16. I grew up on Lake Sunapee and worked at Osborne's Marine in the summer. We free skied regularly with a host of great folks. Tyler came in once with a pair of tired cutoffs, bandana and a pistol stuck in his beltline and a few friends. Friendly enough despite the badass appearance. Lake Sunapee Waterski club owns a submersible in Georges Mills.
  17. Ok, went to Cedar Ridge as a result of a generous offer by a MS Baller to get a set or two while in MS on business. Skied with the ultimately hospitable, and equally knowledgeable Bubba. I'm back in VT with a huge smile on my face. Incredible lake, super conditions, and a few tips that made me better than when my sorry ass arrived. Can you ask for more? Go see this place! Thanks Bubba, thanks BOS
  18. Bubba, thanks for the reply. I'll give a call tonight. looking forward to it.
  19. I am going to be in Jackson, MS for work July 25-26. Wondering if there is a ski sight nearby for a set or 2?
