  1. What would you say if to someone who has never skied on a course that knew nothing about skiing and wanted to give it a try. Lets say they can ski on one ski what ski would you tell them to get? How fast would you pull them? How long would the rope be? What other thing would you tell them? I would pull them 26 or 28mpg with 15off cause I do not own the full rope. I would have no Idea on what a good ski is.
  2. @Horton Good point I did not think about that. What would be two better skis to compare?
  3. Its just the regular cx sorry it took me so long. I dont have any video right now. The ski is set at the factory spec its a 67inch I wight around 175lb. http://www.hosports.com/pdf/ski_boot_chart-2014.pdf
  4. You can tow it no problem. I have towed my Mastercraft with a 2wd v6 S-10 with no problem.
  5. I bought a HO CX before last season started and thought it was a good ski for me up Intel I got on the ski course. When I got on the course I a had the hardest time skiing every time I got around the first or second ball I would end up way to far out. It was the same speed that I normally ski at and I have never had that issues in tell I got the CX. The ski I had before that was a HO CDX-1. On my CDX-1 I was able to ski 15 off at 32mph after a few try’s. On my CX I could not get pass the second ball. Any one have any ideas?
  6. It looks like I should go for somthing bigger then a 100hp. It also looks like I should plan on skiing a little slower then I would behinde my ski boat if I get a small 16ft boat.
  7. @Andre Thats a idea. There seems to be a few public courses around and I would preferably go to a public course.
  8. HI, I'm not going to be able to get as much skiing in this year as I normally do and I would like some tips so every chance I get I can use to improve. I know I ski hard on my back foot. What are some thing I could do to improve? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKebZ4_TRVM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99KXmL4UvQ4
  9. It looks like it might be a work out to get up and ski behinde a small boat.
  10. @MISkier You are right that Im looking for public lake courses. Sadly the ski school in Charlotte is closed that was before my time. I live near the Charlotte area Is there any courses near by? Side note the 81 mastercraft my Dad owns is from the Charlotte ski school.
  11. I have always wondered what lakes in Michigan have a ski course. I have wanted to get in to course skiing more and more, but I can’t find any lakes besides the one I live on.
  12. Thats a cool little boat, so a 90hp would be the best place to start.
  13. HI, So I happen to live near a few different lakes, but you cannot put a ski boat on them. The reason you cant is that you would draw too much attention to yourself; the boat ramp is to shallow, and in some spots you could not get a ski boat into. So I have been thinking of upgrading my fishing boat to a center council or a flats boat about 16ft long. I was wondering how much HP I should get to ski behind?
  14. Cool thanks guys theres seems to be alot of places to ski.
  15. Hi, I’m just wondering where are some places to ski in the Orlando area and what the prices would be? I don’t think I’m going to have time to go when down their just wanted to see what the options are. Thanks
  16. I ski on a public lake with a permanent course, but always run in to issues with other boaters. So I always try to ski in the AM. Only skied on the course once this year do to bad whether.
  17. There are many different ways to winterize a boat and everyone has an opinion too. The mechanic could be trying to get you to pay him to winterize your boat;). The boat we have is a 1981 MC and we do it about the same way as you and it has been done that way sense it was bought. It was the way the dealer said to do it.
  18. Im curious on what the price on one of these. I wonder what skiing behind one would be like
  19. I knew the concept has been a round for a while for offshore, but had no idea they where trying it with boats like this. I thought it was interesting that Four Winns is trying to make a boat to complete with inboards.
  20. I know this is more for wakeboarding and surfing, but I wanted to know what you guys thought. What do you guys think about Forward Drive? Do you guys think it will catch on or is it a one hit wonder? Do you think brands like MC and Ski Nautique will try something like this? Will they try to make a version for skiing? I personally will stick to my true inboard. http://www.proptalk.com/april-15-four-winns-ts222-and-volvo-penta-forward-drive/
  21. Thanks for the suggestions I will definitely look into the vapor.
  22. I would buy the 85 MC, great wake and no wood stringers! There’s no trick in keeping them straight. There great boats! If you have any questions about stars and stripes I might be able to answer or point you in the right direction. I have an 81 and have done a lot of research on them.
  23. What do you think of this ski? Would you buy them? Do you think there is a market for them? Are they worth a try? http://www.hosports.com/product-detail.php?id=waterski-park-popsicles
