  1. Spraymakers S2 E6 Fatal Flaws really sums it up for me. Especially when I get deeper into my more difficult passes.
  2. @cacman Check out the Vortec Distributer Repair Plate. $26 https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NDP6551259
  3. @TEL had the exact same thing happen last summer. Less than 100hrs on mine as well. I keep a spare cap/rotor with me in the boat
  4. @Martin you maybe getting a misfire but subtle enough you don't notice it. DIACOM would pinpoint the engine code. If you are running the PCM 330 excalibur the distributor cap and rotor are known for causing issues. May be worth a shot before you have to haul it to a dealer.
  5. Maybe I'm wrong but unless you have access to a DIACOM i'm not sure how you verify timing is correct. Its set by the cam. My 2007 196 placard states it needs to be 0-4deg. Obviously a dealer or marina can check this for you.
  6. Another item to check would be your anti-syphon valve located on the fuel cell. If the spring assembly inside is starting to degrade, it can cause intermittent loss of fuel flow.
  7. I picked tricking back up several years ago after moving out of the wakeboard phase. I bought a pair of entry level O'Brien Pro Tracs and started right about where you are. My humble opinion... 1. Make sure you on the right size ski 2. A higher end ski undoubtedly out performs a low end ski 3. Get a good fitting binding that supports your foot and ankle very well 4. as you stated in your post, spend more time on the trick The first three were a gamechanger for me and actually drove the 4th one. I went from the 42" obrien, to a used 43" D3 custom ($200 shipped). I also went from the cheaper O'brien lace-up binding to a D3 leverage. ($179) In a matter of a few summers I went from basic surface turns to learning several wake tricks, 2 inverts and a few toe turns all while not breaking the bank. Are there better skis and bindings out there for tricking? Sure, but for what I do, my setup works very well and gives me a lot of room to grow. Tricking was a great way for us to spend more time on public water after more boats came out.
  8. I think what @Than_Bogan is trying to tell us is that the adams need to develop a version of Denali with a dual hinge pivot point. If you don't cartwheel coming out of the turn, your ski form and fin settings must have been correct. Golf did it years ago. :D
  9. @aupatking how old are your plugs/wires?
  10. +1 on the Marine grade cap/rotor. Brass is the only way to go. My 07 196 has the 330 excalibur. Just over 500hrs. Went through three rotors and two caps in the last two years. We average about 50hrs a summer and I always make sure my bildge is clean/dry. Also leave the dog house up after use to air it out while wiping it down. Aluminium automotive caps and rotors don't last. Bought an OEM marine brass cap/rotor from discount inboard marine this July along with full tune up kit (plugs and wires). Boat ran like a top for the of the summer which was almost 60hrs. I've lived through the pain of that stupid cap. See below. https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/23744/pcm-330-help
  11. @dchristman same here! Outboard boat trick run. Air 72, water 51. Really was a beautiful day.
  12. @horton Lots of very good advice and options listed above. @6balls has a very valid point "if you don't like it, you won't do it" I will also ask the question how good are you at developing and adhering to a routine? For some it is easy, others not so much. Throw in a 6yr old and home schooling and it can be quite the obstacle. You can have all the greatest equipment the USA has to offer, but if you can't find a good routine your investment will eventually collect dust or end up being a close drying rack. Figure out what a typical day is going to look like for you and your daughter and then build around that. Exercise in the morning? lunch/recess break? after she's in bed? Ask yourself how much time can I realistically dedicate to exercise? 1 hr a day? 3 days/week? 5 days? Build your routine around the answers to those questions, and then be consistent and stay the course. It takes the average human ~21 days to change a habit or routine. If you want to test this, go move the steering wheel up or down in your car before you drive. You will be thinking how the hell can I drive like this. But after a few days it becomes more natural and after a few weeks, you don't even notice the change. Then move it back to its original spot and the whole process starts over. We are creatures of habit. Make exercise a habit and then do the exercises that you enjoy while producing the results you want!
  13. Vacuum off and on though out the season. Then deep clean at the end. We ski on a river so the carpet gets pretty rough as the season wears on. I have had a lot of luck with a good vacuum, then using a Bissel spot cleaner($65) for the deep clean. One that you can spray down water and suck it back up. I usually add 50:50 mix of Simple Green and water. Spray it down, scrub with a stiff bristle brush, then vacuum it back up. The water that gets pulled out looks like pure dirty river water and the carpet looks as good as new. I try to do this outside on a nice sunny day to allow the carpet to fully dry. Never had a problem with mold/mildew or that musty carpet smell.
  14. Zero off comes out with D1, D2, D3 and D4+ Ski jump is incorporated back into trick runs Slalom course cable park is built New law goes into effect banning wake surfing It could happen! I'm pretty sure no one ever imagined everything 2020 brought us this far
  15. @Skoot1123 or perhaps cedar? rot resistant and light weight. less weight on the rear. allows them to tow more. probably why they opted for 2 fasteners instead of 4 to hold the hitch ball plate
  16. This is great to watch. Amazing skiing. Just saw Sean had a knot in the rope. Curious where that would occur in the line and was there a knot from the beginning of the set?
  17. @75Tique thanks for sharing that link. Really neat to see the history of the of that '09.
  18. @A_B interesting. A few months ago i was traveling past there and saw a course on it. Barefooting seems challenging on that setup. Really quick up and downs.
  19. The judges air guide on the engine dog house is really cool.
  20. Looking at this pic, I would love to know the history on the 1,500hrs
  21. @escmanaze good call. Will post there as well
  22. Someone please by this before somebody that has no idea what it is puts a tower and bunch of other crap all over it. I've seen it in person on our river. Amazing condition. https://m.facebook.com/marketplace/item/5011778162181118/
  23. Not sure who owns this but I've seen a course on it. Not far from Wauseon.
