  1. @MS sorry, I am a bit slow on the uptake here - I didn't go from a rear boot, but from an R style. I had the lace HRT first and now the Boa. I do like the laced version, but the Boa is a distinct improvement - I like the Boa closure, its ease of use and adjustability - and the 2019 boot is an improvement too. It is extremely comfortable, provides good support and releases very well: Good luck and earn yourself an IPA.
  2. The Carbon/G10 sequence plate needs the rear outer slots widening first and then will take an aluminium plated HRT.
  3. Radar Vapor Boa - I am just as pleased with that.
  4. @vtmecheng thanks for confirming that. It is worth looking for the aluminium frame - it has far more adjustability. I am a great fan of the Radar HRT.
  5. The Radar Vector with the aluminium frame definitely fits as I use one on an HO Omni Syndicate. If you have the feather frame you may need to check the holes are in the same place.
  6. We were lucky enough to ski behind this 2018 MasterCraft ProStar 50th Anniversary last week [contact details in the link] - it is so pretty the butterfly could not stay away:
  7. Update on 5 July post above. We used the Reflex bag and the snowboard bag London to Washington Dulles/JFK to London. TSA opened the bags on our return flight. No damage and both skis fine.
  8. Last week with Corey Vaughn and Amelia at Bumpass VA, Ski n B. Just perfect.
  9. Only speaking from personal experience, I have enjoyed the orange Vapor and the 2017 Vapor [with the green name on it]. I have had no problems at all with either. I also use the HRT. I was lucky enough to only have a couple of OTF crashes on the orange and none on the 2018. When I crashed the liner came out. I do not tighten the upper lace much and always loosen the upper lace [removing it from the top clips] and the BOA in the water before I remove the ski. When I do so my foot comes out of the binding without pulling the liner out.
  10. If you can take a step down from the carbon, a new HO Omni from Performance at $429.99 might be the way to go.
  11. Flown many times using a long snowboard bag. The Radar travel bag looks good. Currently we use a Reflex bag. It takes up to a 67" ski with enough room further to protect the tips. We put pipe insulation round the edges and then fill any space with impacts, clothing, towels etc. No problems so far - transatlantic and European flights ...
  12. @vtmecheng is correct - Radar Vapor binding fits my Omni Syndicate and the HRTP with the aluminium plate also fits without difficulty. Also I agree that it would be a good ski for you.
  13. I changed from a Fusion to an Omni and would recommend the Omni to you at this stage. I am on the Syndicate, probably any model would suit you.
  14. I am with @vtmecheng I am sure they are all great skis. I happen to really like my Omni Syndicate see earlier posts including this one. I still think it is a great ski. Just try/demo anything you can first.
  15. I used to use the R-Style. For me it was OK but not great. Now I use the HRT. Comfortable, no release issues. It is not as easy as a RTP to put on in the water, but easier than the R-Style.
  16. @ALPJr The Carbon Sequence plate has narrow slots at the rear and needed widening to expose the screw mountings. As there is a centre slot I had the Radar rear bar drilled in the middle so I could use 3 screws. From you picture it looks as though the 2 rear most slots are wider in any event.
  17. With the assistance of a local engineering shop I was able to have the carbon sequence plate drilled out to fit the omni. I went with the slightly older Radar Vapor binding to match the ski B)
  18. @ALPJr that is a very attractive setup. Good luck when you get going.
  19. Today. Synergy of two brands looks good - if you like matching colours! More attractive than my skiing anyway.
  20. Many, many congratulations. Having just chalked up 30 years I wish you all the best and hope you surpass that mark too. If permitted, fireworks. On a small floating pontoon with a cheap remote system. Fireworks over water are awesome. When my daughter got married [she and her husband are sailors] the flowers in on the tables were in small [model] boat hulls. You can put names on them etc. I suspect you can get something that would pass off for a Centurian/SN/MasterCraft/Malibu. Velcro! We have all seen sports stars come off the bench and rid themselves of their tracksuits. A nifty bit of seam work could have you all dressed up one moment and on the water in a flash. Guard of honour with skis. Whatever you do have a great day and enjoy it, don’t worry about it!
  21. @oldjeep Thank you. I shall stick with my old HRT as I have a carbon sequence plate on its way. I like the boa lower binding on the vapor front boot but the HRT boa only comes on the feather frame.
  22. Does anyone know whether a feather frame HRT [and in particular the Ltd Edition Boa] can be separated from its frame and fitted to the G10 sequence plate, or it is only for HRT’s with the aluminium plate? It would seem a little OTT to fix the whole HRT, feather frame as well, to the sequence plate. Thanks
  23. As you ask, I am a great fan of the HO Omni. I have a Syndicate. I am sure all 3 are good skis. Previously I have set out my views on the HO Omni on BoS here There are some photos there - I use a radar Vapor front boot and the HRT. Both are very comfortable and I have had no problem with the front binding releasing. If you are somewhere to can use the HO try before you buy scheme you have little to lose. Good luck whatever you do.
  24. @condorpilot definitely no apology needed. I am a bear with a little brain. I had been on the Anyone on the Omni? thread and didn't read everything above in this thread. That old adage, don't assume anything as it makes and ass out of u and me ...
