  1. Different preferences for different people, I chose a Rev 6. I previously used a Nano One. I have tried the new Nano XT
  2. P T is the best answer in my experience.
  3. as with the last two posters the design and wakes of the Carbon Pro made it my first choice.
  4. What size Sahara? I may have a new never used small or extra small.
  5. Good question. Here is a stab at an answer Perhaps technology. Perhaps the titanium. Read something that said it is like refleting you own heat back on you. I have had quite a few and multiple brands of 3 /2 suits none even remotely close to as warm as the motec 2mm. None as flexible. None as light. Hard to believe it's a full 2 mm. Is seems very thin. I know that is not really an explanation but it is an accurate description. They work well. Bought one. Then another for my wife. Then a back up for me. Then family and friends bought them. Then I got the .5 top. Now some of them will get the top. A dry suit is probably warmer though most leak before long and may feel at least damp and no where near as pleasant to wear. I am in Alaska we tend toward water in the 60s and air in the 50s in the morning when I ski. I will no longer wear any of my other wet suits they simply don't work even remotely near as well. I woar a brand new dry suit once for comparison and then went back to the Camaro 2.0 over the .5 top. I can't actually explain why it seems to work so well, but I appreciate it every time I use it. Simply impressed by how well it works again and again. After two seasons often still feel surprised at how well it works. I hope that helps a little. It's the most unique wet suit/ dry suit product for what a water skier needs that I have ever encountered.
  6. Here is my experience with the .5 Mdetec top under the suit. It protects you from the schock of cold water coming through the zipper on the suit. It seems like it slows down water coming into the shorty. It is very light and flexible. It adds warmth. With this I no longer use my Sahara dry suit. Perhaps that information is assist to you.
  7. I use a Modetec .5 top under a Modetec 2.0 long sleeved shorty with good results.
  8. Where or how does a person get the baller price on the Motec? Thanks to anyone who can tell me.
  9. dchristman if you wear your .5 motec top under your ls shorty you will have tremendous warmth and won't feel water rushing on to your back through the zipper on the shorty. This set up with my two Camarro ms keeps the wet suit in the closet.
  10. Another supporter of hearing from the LaPoint's. My oldest ski is a 55 year old Maharajah from the time of some of there early success. I used it once this summer. The two brothers cover a lot of time and interesting history.
  11. Over the years lots of skis. Lots of companies. For the last few years I have been on Goode skis. Until this year a Nano 1. Now have a Rev 6. It seems stable, fast, gets wide, rewards technique improvements. I think it's the best I ski I have owned.
  12. I have ordered from Robby's which is part of Subset Ski Ranch. Have always had same hay shipping and fine service. Hoping to use my Canaro one more time this weekend but getting cold. Predicted low 34 this weekend with 48 as a high. Water temperature maybe 56. This could be the end of our season. Or maybe it's over. We shall see. Without the Canaro and just my old suit I think it would be over.
  13. I like your question. I am on a Rev 6 and was previously on a Nano 1so I find you question interesting and would also find comments about the Nano 1 XT interesting. I look forward to Hotmrton's review of the latter c
  14. I have stopped using my drysuits. I use a Camarro 2.0 and under it a Camarro .5 top which is thin and flexible. Top has no zipper and really protects from cold water coming in through to your back on the 2.0. Last ride was water 58 air at 52 and it worked well. Q
  15. If you really want to make the Camarro warm get a Camarro .5 top (very thin) and wear it underneath. The top has no zipper and stretches easily and keeps cold water from coming through the 2.0 zipper to your back. My last ski was air at 52 degrees and water at 58 and it was comfortable. With this set up I am not using my Sahara drysuit.
  16. Liquid d thanks, but the reference was to her ski. After 45 years she is a keeper, and a skier, and a boat driver.
  17. Regarding taking a bath. Most boat dealers have flooring financing for invent. As inventory ages leders require payment on the inventory that did not sell in a timely manner. So sometimes dealers face deadlines and they let things go for what's owed. Or they pay off the loan on unsold inventory and have tied up there cash and again conclude to let it go and use there cash for something that helps them. Two years old may exceed a flooring limit and could as you suggest force a dealer "to take a bath on a boat" and move ahead.
  18. I acquired a used set of jumpers. They really work and can greatly enhance the experience if you can locate a set. As to bindings they can be changed to something that fits and that she likes on most any ski.
  19. I will second that comment. "This is a great cite". I am new here. Not the skier that most here who comment a lot appear to be. At age 71 never will be. However I am renewing an interest and the cite is wonderful in that respect for me and my wife age 69. Took my first single ski ride at age 12. Fifty nine years ago. A joy then and now. In part do to this cite, earlier this summer, with a little help from Dave Goode, I now have a new Rev 6. The ski with some effort on my part has done great things for me. Need to upgrade my wife next. As an accessory to the ski I have just acquired a a 6.0 Carbon Pro. It is in transit to Alaska. I had help in deciding to make that acquisition through a post I made here, as well as a contact with the "fearless leader" Mr. Horton. So I would greatly miss this cite. It helps more than those far into short line. And there are a lot of those skiers. As an aside I skied this weekend in a short legged 2 millimeter Camarro with the water at 58 degrees and the air at 52 degrees. It was a good experience. This cite aids that level of enthusiasm. We are almost done here, but the boat is still in the water looking to next weekend. The cite is also obviously helpful for technical issues like boat maintenance. A very useful attribute. So I would like to see the cite prosper and the administrator temporarily block, and when necessary remove the inappropriate. A result preferable to many suffering for a few. No administrator can prevent or initially eliminate the inappropriate but for the good of the cite they can be shall we say "post holed for a tune". As people learn this occurs I have seen it have a positive influence on civility and commentary. So Nr. Horton please keep up the good work. Thanks.
  20. Also looking forward to Rev 6 review. Own a Nano 1 and a Rev 6 and prefer the Rev 6.
  21. I recognize that as far as bout counts the Mapple ski is producing better results; at least when skiing behind boats other than the referenced zero off SN200. However it appears to me that in the videos the techniques is better on the Rev 6. Am I missing something about technique? Is technique simply not earning bouys on that ski? Perhaps an example of why they brought out the Rev 6 plus?
  22. Reading all this I have to agree use a Demo program. If I were you I would try D3. They make a quality product.
