  1. Quite an experience. Hopefully there is more mending and more improved experiences from here.
  2. Glad your out. Out is a good place to be. Wishing you well.
  3. I see the Centurion Carbon Pro as a purpose built boat designed and built for the end user; not for Dealers. It was of course designed before CC acquired Centurion and with Centurion CC also got Supeme. Centurion built the Carbon Pro to produce exactly what it is and generally priced it so as to not produce much margin for dealers. It was about building a ski boat the way Centurion thought it should be done. It was not about building a profit maker for dealers. Centurions profit focus was clearly elsewhere. Skiers who got Carbon Pros and the sport benefited but as designed and priced it was not a high margin hot item for dealers. Carbon Pros were in my estimation not that easy to find at the dealers. There may now be some refocus on purpose and dealers with Supreme, but hopefully it will be a great boat. it certainly could and I think should be given the boat from which there starting.
  4. Interesting. I have a 6.0 Carbon Pro and absolutely love it. My wife does also. For us the wakes are unsurpassed. I have experience as a dealer from some years past with Nautique, Mastercraft, and Centurion. For my wife especially the Centurion wake experience carried the day. The Carbon Pro gives me what we like without a bunch we do not need. It is a ski boat and a great one plain and simple. The boat is is not as well known but it delivers what it was designed to do which is not an all around her, but purpose built ski boat. We also have a bow rider at the dock; a design with some have family benefits for many. Over all I have probably used roughly 60 plus tournament boats from the three companies in various years as a primary boat. We switched are personal boat often. But for us the Carbon Pro is our all time favorite. If it's at the end of its run then for us it's time the Centurion Carbon Pro became a cult boat starting today with us. This is the boat we will keep.
  5. The weights on the back really work for beginners as doubles and to find skis. Have been using them since the 80s. As have others who borrow them. With tip up they have never been lost. Biggest problem is they get borrowed by people around the lake that borrow them for beginners. In fact they were loaned out at the end of the 2016 season and there loaned out again now. They get around and they get found.
  6. You can put some weight back where the fin is. Dropped ski will float tip up and be quite visible. Kobe made pairs that way to assist beginners learning on doubles. The skis floated tip up easily and made it easier for skiers to control the two skis when floating and starting. I still have a pair and they really help people. The Jove weight was the shape of the plate on top of the fin and went under it.
  7. My brother and I got our first wet suits from Jack. We bought them directly from him in 1961. Hack took care of us. My Dad had just purchased a 1961 Chris Craft and we wanted to get an early start tobtry it out and Jack had the answer. I lived in the Bay Area as did Jack. I still have those two suits in my shed at the lake. They are occasionally loaned to a youngster here in Alaska.
  8. The air temperature was 42 degrees and the water was 48 degrees when I took my first ski ride of the year. Time for a boat heater for the driver. I have a Carbon Pro 6.0 at my house about to go in the water for the first time this weekend, and a new Heater Craft heater that just arrived. I am wondering if anyone has installed one of these in a Carbon Pro. Getting the water hoses under the floor from the engine compartment and then up above the floor in the bow where the heater needs to go looks like a challenge. Even getting the heater up there with vent hoses etc. may be a challenge. If anyone has useful information it would be greatly appreciated. I have installed these heaters 15 plus years ago, in Mastercrafts and Centurions but things were more accessible in the boats in those years. Thanks for any help.

  12. SheererSkier the 86 Prostar was another great boat. The one I once had belongs to a friend and was redone not long ago and looks great. A picture would be nice to see.

  14. Wiley's has been providing fine service to skiers for a long time.
  15. Broussard the 1995 PS 90 was Silver. I had a1995 with the LT1 engine. I believe the earlier version as shown was gold.

The ok'd and the new. The Maherjah is 56 years old. Skied them both on the same day last summer.
  20. I think usage and maintenance is key. And 36mph is harder on a boat than 34mph or even lower speeds for typical family use with beginning skiers and tubing etc. also hills make a difference. Done comp board with a 5.7 at 34 or 36 mph are working far harder than Horton's Centurion Carbon Pro. On the other hand the typical family in my experience does a very poor job of maintenance. Timely oil changes are important. Many recreational owners have low usage but do not change oil even annually at the end of a season. Knowing a boats maintenance and use can be more import than the number of hours. Marina's see plenty of new $70,000 plus boats out away seasonally with no oil change, for example, and it continues year to year. Well maintained boats with regular fluid changes can give a lot of hours of service with no major engine problems. Alternator or starter or water pump may need relacenent over time but the engine should be fine fir a long time.
  21. Regarding the sternum cartilage injury that happened to me water skiing 40 years ago. It was a slow heal, but it has been ok ever since though I won't ever for get that injury. It definite interfered with getting up for awhile.
