  1. @keithh2oskier I use a cheap cover I got at Fleet Farm for dust in the garage and pollen/bird poop under my canopy in the summer. Have had it for 3 years on my 2002 SN 196 and I don't have any holes in it, still working for what I need it to do.
  2. I just got a pair for my boat lift, were easy to install, now I'm just waiting for the ice to melt so I can get the lift in! @dtm8119 Did you leave the plastic tires on all summer, or do you take them off and put them back on when you're taking it back out?
  3. I've never skied behind one, but I would recommend skiing it yourself and if you like it, get it :) And obviously make sure the boat and engine are in good condition.
  4. So fun to see all of those skis :) thanks for sharing!!!
  5. I'm with aspski, but I'm left foot forward with left palm up, same way I grip a hockey stick, golf club, baseball bat, and tennis racquet.
  6. No skiing in December, but we did have a good game on Battle Lake this weekend!
  7. I like to see the Wild sweatshirt made it down to FL too!!
  8. @BraceMaker why would someone run over your neighbor's drop ski, so rude! jk ;) I meant when we find something that is not ours we put a message out to the lakeshore association email letting people know what we found, we had the decking of a dock section float up on our beach this summer.
  9. If I were to find a waterski in the lake or on my beach I would do everything I could to try and find the owner. Usually after a storm there are ads on facebook and we will get emails from the lake association when people find items that aren't theirs. Most slalom skiers love their skis, I'm just hoping the person who found the ski had no idea how much the ski means to the real owner and he gets his ski back.
  10. Hope that Sheree does the right thing and your cousin gets his ski back!!
  11. Had the lift and dock out of the water, boat was drained and in the garage for the last 2 weeks when we had 8" of snow and highs in the 20s. Warmed up on Monday so rolled in a little dock and put the boat back in. @MNshortliner and I have skied every day this week and will go through Saturday before our winter returns again. If the water was warmer that 40 we wouldn't even need a wetsuit @Cnewbert ;)
  12. I don't know how it could be any more simpler for a viewer than having the color along with both metric and imperial line lengths displayed throughout their whole pass. I guess they could keep the graphic up during the replay too. If the camera just looks at the rope before the pass and you're not watching or paying attention to the screen before the pass starts how does that help once they're skiing? And if you are paying close attention to the webcast it's pretty easy to know what pass they're on. My point is that if you're not paying close attention you would be more likely to see the graphic during a pass, not a camera shot of the rope for a few seconds before they are even skiing in the course.
  13. Thankfully I didn't fully winterize my boat yet, our snow is finally melting after 2 weeks and we will be up to the 50s on Tuesday so we get to ski again!
  14. @VONMAN The color is indicated in the upper left corner with the line length numbers in metric and imperial, it's the background color of the graphic.
  15. I agree with @MISkier and @Than_Bogan - love it for the events, but regular videos it doesn't bother me.
  16. Water skiing is so easy to learn, if you have a pair of wide combo skis and someone who knows how to teach a beginner. My 30 year old co-worker who came to visit one weekend up at the lake this summer had never water skied her in her entire life. She was able to get up and have a blast skiing, I think it took her 2 or 3 tries. Obviously skiing faster and on a slalom ski, especially if you're running a course, is harder, but a double black diamond run is harder than the bunny hill. We even had my cousins' kids who were 4 and 5 skiing behind the boat, (and a 2 year old on the easy ski) you don't have to go fast to ski. No they didn't ski 6-7 hours a day, but when they go snow skiing they don't last very long on the bunny hill either.
  17. In my experience in MN we have many more lakes than we have ski slopes and I would guess that more people participate in water sport activities than down hill skiing, tubing, or snowboarding. Obviously not all of the people choose to ski, but I believe they have easier access to water skiing, even if that is with two skis in choppy water, at least in MN.
  18. I don't know that snow skiing is that much cheaper than skiing, especially if you have to travel to get to a slope. Even in MN I would maybe snow ski once or twice a year on the hills we have, but we waterski way more. Thankfully I had access to an uncle's boat growing up so in my situation water skiing was much cheaper than snow skiing.
  19. https://www.tradeonlytoday.com/manufacturers/mastercraft-investor-pushes-company-to-explore-sale I have no knowledge of how or why an investment firm would want a company to sell, I'm assuming they would make money from the sale of a company they're invested in, but I don't understand it. If Mastercraft was to be sold would that really change anything for their ski boats though or would a new company just continue to produce Mastercraft boats!?! Hopefully this isn't going to happen, but I was just startled to read this and have no idea what the consequences would be if it were to happen.
  20. I love watching TWBC on YouTube!! I don't have cable, my dad does so I can log in through the app on my TV and watch ESPN, NBC Sports, FSN (our regional sport channel), but his package doesn't have CBS Sports Network. I don't know if the wakeboard tour finals were on YouTube, but there is no way I'd be able to watch on CBS Sports. There are a lot more people with access to YouTube than cable TV, so if you do want more people to watch waterskiing you should promote the TWBC broadcasts on YouTube. I'm guessing most water skiers already know about TWBC, but many other people who would potentially be interested in watching waterskiing likely have no idea when tournaments are or that it's even possible to watch one on YouTube.
  21. I did get the podium, but had 5 @ 41 for the winning score. What an amazing finish to the tournament though!!
  22. @oldjeep I did drain the water and put my boat in the garage, but hoping I'll get it on the water one more time before I add the antifreeze for the winter! Supposed to get up to 46 in Battle Lake on Nov 7th with abundant sunshine, but it's hard to depend on the extended forecast in MN ;)
  23. I'd say if you're free skiing the Alloy will be great! If you ski hard in the course and want to get more buoys then you'll want to get a Lithium or Pro Build version of the ski.
