  1. Close to Fall in MN, (August) got a new to me Connelly GT and have been loving it!! :)
  2. So sad!! I went to a show there when I was a kid, absolutely loved it!!
  3. Congratulations, glad you got a new ski!! Post some pictures or a video of it in action!
  4. @meat4four4 This thread was from earlier this summer https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/comment/371406 Not sure if @tlarocque ended up purchasing the boat, but it's similar description to what you're looking for and maybe he has contact information for the seller.
  5. Congratulations, sorry to hear she can't go to school, but happy she gets to extend her ski season!!
  6. Looking good! You'll definitely love skiing with a more modern ski!!
  7. @Timr71 It wasn't that I didn't like the V-Type, but I was having some trouble early this year with the tail popping out. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the ski, but my skiing, either way I just went back to the Radar to clear my head :) Then I tried the GT, really liked the way it gripped through my turn and I was able to get a good angle out of the turns. I think the V-Type is a great ski, it's really fast too, and I was using it the first time I ran -28!
  8. @MEDDERX Your budget really gives you a lot of options, but if I were in your shoes and going to try my first "modern" ski I'd get something in the price range of that A2, then get some nice comfortable bindings and have fun with it! It might take a little to get used to a new ski, but I think you'll really appreciate the advances in ski technology. Here's a couple other options I saw that you could make an offer on: 2015 Radar 2014 Connelly V If you can get a video on here that would be great too!
  9. @MEDDERX How much are you looking to spend on a ski upgrade? I have never ridden an A2, but I'm positive it will be a lot better than your current ski. You can also get even newer skis at a relatively low price on Ski It Again I'm similar in size 5'8" about 135(?) I never weigh myself. The last few years I've been riding a 65" Radar Lithium Senate, then went to a 66" HO Syndicate V-Type, then switched back to the Radar in June. Recently tried a friend's Connelly GT, his was 67", but I liked it so much I bought a 66" Connelly GT and am really loving it. I've been skiing a lot this summer, but just ran my first couple of -32 passes @ 34mph last week on the 66" GT, so I'd say either a 65" or 66" ski will work just fine for you. Have fun ski shopping, and if you get something on SIA that you don't like you can always sell it and try another one :)
  10. I shipped a ski USPS from MN to MA on Wed 8/19 and it arrived Saturday 8/22, got an email today from the buyer who said he skied on it this weekend.
  11. We used to live in Eugene before moving back to MN. I loved being able to walk to Oakshire brewery, great beer there! Also could walk to Hop Valley, Ninkasi, and a few others!
  12. I think I read something that there is a drone being developed to pull snow skiers up the mountain, not sure if this is the same type of thing
  13. @vtmecheng I get to drive his boat when he skis and I haven't noticed any problems with the tracking, we also usually ski in the morning so no surfers are out. We drive across the lake to get to the course and if it's windy the nose has never been close to dunking, but it's a closed bow anyways. Would be a different case if you were planning to bring your family out on the lake all day and there were big surf boats, but thankfully he doesn't have that problem since he has a couple other family boats, hopefully he'll post a picture of them too!
  14. I'm lucky enough to get to ski with my friend Nick aka @MNshortliner and his beautiful boat!! He really is an amazing craftsman, maybe he will even show you a picture of his pontoon that he customized!
  15. @Kwoody51 Awesome!! My wife, Molly, is cousins with Rezin, Ambrose, and Julia! Let me know next time you come up and you can ski with us, Nick puts in the course over by Glendalough and we ski there every morning if there is a Southish wind. I live on Silver Lake, no course, but we'll free ski there if the wind doesn't work for the course. My number is 218-371-7450 - Robbie
  16. @Kwoody51 are you skiing on Blanche Lake!?! @MNshortliner and I ski there almost every day, either there or Silver Lake. Let me know if you're still around and want to ski with us!
  17. @skinut It reminds me of the Vegas Golden Knights! Definitely an awesome looking boat though, would be so fun to ski behind one some day!!
  18. I want to see you skiing behind that Gekko! If you get it I might show up to ski with you too ;)
  19. I like the Windy app, I do use 3 weather apps though as the Windy isn't usually the best for the actual temperature, but seems to be the most accurate for the wind. I feel like this year all the weather apps have been hit or miss, and mostly miss ;)
  20. I just got one for my 2002 SN from Miami Nautique The glove box still comes down hard at the end when closing, but it does go up and stay up easily.
  21. I saw them last summer, was walking home with a friend from NYC talking about the stars and then the satellites started crossing the sky. I had no idea what it was, but we looked it up when we got home because I was telling him in all the years I've been looking at the stars I've never seen anything like that before!
  22. @PacMan In 2017 I skied on Blanche Lake with @MNshortliner on April 1st (definitely wore a wetsuit) but the ice didn't come off of Silver Lake until April 4th that year. Would love to ski 3/30, my birthday! Yeah the weather this year must be wanting to take the place of MN sports teams, gets nice a few days so you get excited, then turns bitter cold and windy and makes you want to cry!
