  1. Geez tough market for used boats! Price cut to $24k Incredible ski boat at this price point. Here are pictures of the imperfections.
  2. Some interest but no takers. I’m dropping the price to $30k.
  3. Lol sorry! The number of hours on the boat are normally displayed on that screen. So the number of hours are approximate. It has nothing to do with skiing whatsoever which is why I never fixed it and never got a quote. I did get a new touchscreen factory installed (which was ridiculously expensive, literally over 5k as I recall) last year as described. At this time Tommy’s gave me the hours in the boat so I can only assume there is a way to find exact hours. I don’t have any additional pictures at the moment. The boat is at a friend’s house. The plastic “Malibu” piece covering the swim deck is peeling. Does not affect skiing whatsoever so I never fixed. And the square removable floor cover over the exhaust sags. We just make sure not to step on this, does not affect skiing whatsoever so I’ve never worried about it. It can be reinforced or replaced. The hull is not shined and cleaned so this is something that matters to some people but for me the boat was a workhorse not a show horse so these items do not matter much to me. Cannot reiterate enough how well this boat skis and tracks. The “new” steering and throttle make driving and tracking awesome. The above imperfections are priced into the boat. It will make a buoy head very happy, as it did me. I’m sad to see her go but such is life.
  4. Hi Mitch great taking to you today. Anyone can call or text me if questions 248-515-0012 Thanks for reaching out Mitch hope you can shoot up soon for a ski. You’ll love the boat.
  5. Priced to sell: I did not put price in the original listing. This is priced to sell at $32,500.
  6. This is an incredible ski boat in excellent working condition. Open BOW so perfect for family. Totally loaded, it has the following: Zero Off New factory touch screen replaced 2022 Front seat upholstery replaced 2022 New factory throttle replaced 2021 New factory steering replaced 2020 Includes trailer! All work done at Tommy’s Waterford by Malibu Certified technicians 350 Monsoon engine Shower, heater. Open bow seating with additional middle cushion and rear jump seat. This is an incredible ski boat, the wake is amazing, it is in perfect working condition I skied our course virtually every summer day for the last 5 years. We moved off the lake, I have to sell. The boat does have some cosmetic imperfections that should be repaired. In addition, there is a small center screen that does not work properly. None of this affects skiing whatsoever which is why I didn’t repair. These imperfections are priced into the boat. It is an incredible boat at a great price point. Please contact with questions. Thank you.
  7. Here’s a picture from today. Another great day on the lake.
  8. 2012 Malibu Response Txi. Black, yellow. White hull. The following items replaced by certified Malibu dealer using new Malibu certified parts: touch screen 2022, throttle 2021, steering 2020. These items cost a lot ton but worth it because it runs like a top & I ski every day. Open bow, great for a family. When skiing is done we tube, wake board, and wake skate with the kids. Some upholstery was also replaced last year. The boat has a ton of hours because I ski every day, 918 hours and counting! This boat is a horse, I love it. It runs like a top, always serviced and maintained by Tommy’s Detroit a certified Malibu dealer. We’re moving to Fl, I won’t need it anymore. We’re in West Bloomfield, MI. I’ll be happy to give any serious buyer a ride & ski the course. It skis amazing, I love the wake. It drives great, tracks great. Whoever gets this boat will love it. It is a little dinged up, it is a work horse not a show horse. Whoever buys it will love it, the whole family will enjoy. It just started raining, when it stops I’ll walk down to the hoist & take a picture. I figure I should get about 42.5k for it.
  9. About 2 weeks ago I ran my -28 in a pretty stiff tailwind and I was extremely happy. I almost called it a day but decided to run 1 more “easy” pass at -22 for a cool down. I had a very similar face plant coming out of 2 ball after pulling way to hard and getting a ton of slack. I chalked it up to a mental error as I was still patting myself in the back for my -28 and not focused on the task at hand. It hurt like hell, worst fall of the year for me. But I was so happy to run that -28 in the wind that I was still smiling ear to ear. So... I’d start with “operator error” as a cause for your somewhat bizarre fall, you lost focus on a basic stacked body position. It happens to everyone.
  10. A couple weeks ago I was getting back on my tail a lot and skiing pretty crappy. The 57 degree water temp, 10lbs of wetsuit, windy days, and semi numb hands probably didn’t help either. But I figured I’d move my fin back to try something different. I’m at .724 DFT and I believe it made a difference. I ski 34.2mph, I’ve skied some of my best -28 of the year, yesterday was minimal wind, my offside was great I was early to every ball at -28 which is not an automatic pass for me. Anyone else change settings when the temperatures drop?
  11. I agree these guys are so responsive and go above & beyond. I’ve had issues with the vapor boot & these guys did everything necessary to make it right & even sent me a really cool radar t-shirt that I happen to be wearing right now.
  12. So I skied a couple sets today, felt really good at -22 then information overload kicked in and my attempt to move my COM forward had me dumping my tip in the water before the 1st wake. Fortunately my son was driving, inspired me with a few positive motivational words, and I ran my -28. Unbeknownst to me one of my best friends & ski partners was watching me from his pontoon and said I looked good & stacked at -28. He’s brutally honest so it meant a lot. I have a lot to work on, no -32 today, but really overwhelmed with gratitude for all the great feedback. THANK YOU for the advice and PMs. Horton (I assume it was you from BOS support) thanks for reaching out even while going through a tough time with your dad... “Stand tall... when you think you’re tall, get taller.” I believe that will be a good in course thought. I agree my COM has move forward for me to run shorter line lengths. Thanks everyone, @lkb for posting the video and all the incredible feedback trying to help a fellow buoyhead through the green part of the rope. And it’s nice to know I’m not alone in my struggles with -32.
  13. @scoke and @jimski when you guys talk “leverage position” and “COM” I assume that’s another way of say stacked position? Thank you for taking the time to look & comment!
  14. The 2 passes above are back to back -28s I ran last Christmas at Eden. This summer I’m slightly better at keeping my position through the 2nd wake but this is probably representative of where I am at -28. No video at -32 at present, I’ll work on it. Thank you everyone, great advice a lot to digest, I need a lot of time on the water. And thank you @lkb for posting this. To answer a couple questions above: my opening pass is -22 at 32.3mph. Then I go to -22 at 34.2 and try to run that smooth at least a couple times before going to -28. If I don’t get my -28 I typically go back to -22 and run that again before going back to -28. Interesting to hear about speed control at shorter line lengths- the importance of less speed into 1 ball. I have to work on that. Sometimes I come screaming into 1 on my -28 and that’s why my -28 is not automatic. Staying wide but not fast is important on my -28 and I struggle with it more at -30/-32. I also got some PMs on email. Thank you!
  15. I have video of me running -28 on my iPhone but I don’t know how to post it. Apparently I need a YouTube link? If anyone can do this I’ll be happy to send the video.
  16. I’m running -28 at 34.2mph. Not automatic, but I expect to run it. What got me there is; 1. high on the boat before the gate, engine box in line with 1 ball at turn in. 2. holding my position past the 2nd wake, maintain angle, don’t give up to the boat. 3. When I finish my turn (hip to handle is my in course thought) I immediately point my rear shoulder/chest toward the sky (right shoulder on 1,3,5). This is the in-course thought that helps me maintain a stacked position. Additional info: I ski a 67” ARC that I have dialed in with 0.748 DFT, 6.91, front binding at 30”. I like my settings, I feel stable & my front foot heavy on the ski. 8 degree wing. I cant run -32, I’ve gotten a look at 5 ball but very inconsistent sometimes I can’t get to 3. I have a training loop that Brenda from In Tow made which is -30, but still nothing more than 4 balls. Anything I’m missing here? Do I just need more reps? Is a training loop a good idea? Tweak my settings? I lose angle coming into the ball, I ski at the ball, I can’t get wide to the buoy consistently. I have played with my zero off, I’m usually B3, but tried C2 and I may stick with this. Advice needed please!
  17. We changed a hose on my boat today. It was leaking water, changed it no problem. No more leak and boat runs fine. But now when the engine seems to get to certain temperature (165f) a high pitched warning beep/alarm goes off and stays on until I hit the E button on the dash. The last time this happened was last spring when the alternator was bad. We replaced the alternator and no more beep. Until today. I already troubleshooted (troubleshot?) the basics. Oil pressure, engine temp/impeller, oil level, alternator and battery are good we checked with a voltmeter, no water anywhere, oil was changed in winter & color looks good. The screen on the dash is no longer functional so I only have the beep to go by- I can’t see anything on the screen, it has not worked for 2-3 years. I’m not terribly worried because all the basics check out fine, but it can’t be good. It’s obviously beeping for a reason. Suggestions?
  18. Not skiiing this year as much as last- new baby, bad weather, swamped at office. So, I was skiing crappy & decided to experiment with settings. I only last year started running -28 at 34.2 so I’m no expert. But, anyone who doesn’t adjust settings- I highly recommend DO IT. I moved my fin forward, DFT 0.7395 and changed my wing from 9 to 8 degrees. I was on my tail on my offside before, my offside is much better now. Staying on the front of the ski much better, more angle out of turn, it’s a noticeable difference. When I’m focused & have good water (today was a good day) my -22 passes feel very fast & my line is very tight at the buoy. I assume less wing helps with speed past the 2nd wake. Haven’t skied -28 yet this summer, I want to get good reps & muscle memory at -22 first. But my point is, if you don’t already, get some calipers and start playing with settings it’s been fruitful for me. Now if my boat would only cooperate (see my other post...).
  19. I recently switched to a Reflex 3.0 with carbon plate. I can’t see any point to the carbon toe. The boot does not come in contact with the carbon, the metal portion is what holds the toe in place. One of my ski partners said maybe it’s to deflect water and for aerodynamics but I don’t see how that would be helpful. I paid extra for the carbon toe and, unless I’m missing something, I probably should have passed on it. Otherwise, I love the Reflex. I came from a Vapor carbitex. I love the stiff feel and I love how it releases. Great product overall.
  20. @adamhcaldwell What you describe is a revolutionary way for me to look at my gate. Picturing a zero ball, beginning a long “slow” gate, initiating my turn in BEFORE “zero ball”- revolutionary. I ran my -28 pass in a cross wind, lake temp 61, air 46 so I was really happy about this & chopped it down to my -30 training loop and really focused on a long slow turn in & a tight line at “zero ball.” I realize, prior to today, I absolutely was that guy skiing 20 feet down course of zero ball trying to rip some insane angle into 1 going way too fast with a late edge change... no wonder I struggled with slack. So today at -30... no slack coming out of 1, early to 2. I was actually a little shocked. Just a whole new perspective for me, very outside-the-box insight, thanks bro. I wish I could report that I ran the pass, didn’t even get to 5 ball. But hey baby steps, I was just pumped to have a tight line coming out of 1.
  21. @ChasingOldDreams did you look at The Harborage? I understand the two have different price points... what made you pull the trigger on Miromar? Also, how difficult is it to get a set on good water at Miromar? A lot boats on the course?
  22. This is my third year in the course and even last year I doubted that I would ever run -28 at 34.2mph. Especially a consistent and smooth -28. This year was a breakthrough in that I have been running -28, got to 5 ball at -32, and ran my -30 training loop. What I’m about to say is something I heard a million times- from short line guys on my lake that are much better than me, coaches in FL, from Nate when I was lucky enough to ski with him, I heard it on this forum when I’ve reached out for advice. There are even different ways to word it but the core principle was always this: I was not in a stacked position. And everyone was right. That’s why I frequently struggled even with my -22 pass. So this summer was a breakthrough for me because I realized I didn’t even know what a true stacked position felt like before. And here’s why- it’s extremely hard! It’s a very unusual feeling and feels very unnatural initially and it’s very hard to get used to. It’s a fast position & takes strength. Short line lengths put major load on the body. For me personally, I have 2 thoughts that have to be in place for me to run a smooth -28. 1. Stay on the front of my ski, I need to keep pressure on my front foot. If I’m back on my tail I’m dead- no way to maintain angle and speed without keeping pressure on the front of my ski. 2. As I complete my turn I have to keep my front shoulder/chest back and up (that’s right shoulder at 1,3,5) and have the sense that I’m pointing it at the sky. This was an absolute revelation to me, a huge key. Again, very hard to do! But I haven’t had an OTF since & those aren’t fun at -28 or shorter. The other thing we all need is a driver who is very patient! The only way to get decent at those things is blow a million passes and fall and screw it up a ton before any degree of muscle memory kicks in. I’m very lucky to have patient friends & family that know when I’m floating saying “can you pull me 1 more pass please?” that they’ll hear that about 10 more times and they still put up with me. I have a million things to work on beyond that- I appreciate the importance of the gate at shorter lines. And my edge change is late. I’m working on these things. But without a stacked position across the wakes these other issues, in my humble opinion, are superfluous.
  23. If you don’t mind me asking, why are you selling?
