  1. @gsm_peter Ok, nice! I just ordered a GUL drysuit, hope it works! Also ordered 5mm neopren shoes which i hope will fit in my rear binding (open)... Pictures of the old 70ths monoski? :) @galejan WOW! Skwal looks awesome! I would love to try one of those!
  2. @burdhntr Yes something like this: But i guess you are right, its not the same...it also looks quite deadly :) @gsm_peter I will try the nurse gloves next time! What drysuit do you use? I have been looking at the "Baseextreme" at skimarine.se but i have not decided yet. Do you use neoprenesock in the front binding as well?
  3. @sunvalleylaw Have you ever tried a monoski on snow? I have not but i would like to, it looks very "waterskiich" :)
  4. Bought this two years ago after talking to a ski shop manager who told me my 64.5 "Connelly was a child ski, changed my game a little ... i like the shape of the front on this one!
  5. Hi! I want to start this thread for all of us waterski enthusiasts that gets prevented by cold weather, snow and frozen lakes for long periods. I want this to be a place for exchanging experiences and sharing tips for how to make it a little bit easier. Share your tips on what suits to wear, how to set up the ski for harder water. And the hardest one, how to motivate your friends and family to catch a cold while driving the boat for you ;) So I start by sharing mine, When the summer peaks the watertemperature normally varies between 18° (64°) to 22° (72°) which is okay for just a life jacket and shorts. In early spring and late fall it goes down to around 14° (57°), then I use a Oneill 2mm longlegged wetsuit. Last year I bought a Poseidon semi-dry 4-5 mm to use in even colder water, it do keep me warm but it also makes me stiff like a Michelin-man. And it’s a pain to change in the boat when a little wet and only wearing shorts underneath. Now I have decided to buy a real drysuit instead, looking at the Oneill Boost and a 2mm neoprenesock for the rear foot. But I´m not sure how to do with the gloves… I have a pair of dry gloves, warm but no grip to the handle what so ever. My best tip is to bring a Thermos with boiling water and a bucket, mix It with seawater so that you can take a warm footbath on the transom when you get up, and don't forget to bring hot coffee :) So all of you skiers out there who don’t back down for a little cold weather or water that feels like skiing concrete, how do you do it best? 6. Thanks for all the advice, I will check out the skidim.com alternative... @Zman, thank you but i think im going for the mallory :)
  7. Ok, a local dealer keeps a distributor from Sierra in stock... i have no experience in this field, is that a quality brand or not?
  8. Hello, I have a US Marine Ski Challenger 1989 with a Ford 351W left rotation engine in it. (Not sure if it is a OMC or PCM) Last season i had lots of problem with uneaven idle and loss of power, all problems related to my worn out distributor... so for this season i´m thinking about updating to a new magnetic breakerless distributor and a new coil. Anyone who have experience in this area and have any recommendations on wich brand or solution might be the best?
  9. @jjackkrash trim tabs is a good idea, easier to adjust to... I´ll go with the sandbags as a start and maybe i build my own trim tabs if it doesent help. Thans for all the tips!
  10. I do Freeletics, only bodyweight and focus on core, legs and cardio. Maybe not optimal for skiing but it still makes a huge difference in the course! Here in Sweden the pre-season is longer than the actual season...unfortunately
  11. @DW okay now i understand, i´m planing on turning the boat upside down during this winter to paint the hull i think i will try to build my own hook then :)
  12. @skiinxs, I dont really understand what you mean by "hook", any pictures?
  13. Interesting... jjackkrash what did you use as weights? I´m thinking sandbags would work?
  14. It leans less with a spotter but it´s not perfect...
  15. Yes, most people dont believe that it´s soon 30 years old, it was very scratched on the outside so i wraped it with foil. Although the "miami vice" upholstery gives it away :) I will try putting some weight under the passenger seat as a start, hope it helps. Thanks for the tip.
  16. Hi! I have an old skiboat from 1989 a US Marine Ski Challenger, its in good condition over all and my first real towboat. But there is one thing with the boat that annoys me, it is leaning towards the driverside while driving... a lot. Some of my friends have old ski boats from different manufacturers and none of them leans as much as mine wich make the boat feel unstable. Is this normal for older skiboats, if not what can i do to fix it? Thanks!
  17. Thank you both, i found a lot of measurements on "Great Lake Skipper" :) But no Nautique, so Roger if you remember to measure the gap tomorrow that would be awesome!
  18. Hi! This is my first post in this forum. My name is Erik, I'm 28 years old and i live in Sweden, last year i bought my first skiboat and made my first run in a slalom course, and i loved it! :) Now I'm in the middle of a training program for "developers in innovation" where I'm having a project developing some new accessories for ski boats. I hope you want to help me with some questions i have during the project... here comes the first one. I have been searching for the width of the opening in the windshield on a Ski Nautique Open Bow 2010 - present, and also the same measurement for the latest MasterCraft Prostar 190... I have not found any specs on this anywhere so i wonder if anyone on this forum happens to have one of these boats and want to help me found out? Thanks!
