  1. What time today is this bad boy dropping?
  2. I had this just happen on my 14 last week. I put a fresh battery in it. Changed nothing and I was sitting on my phone in the boat and it all just powered on. Not sure if the battery is what did it or not. I know there is a ground bar under the dash that my dealer told me to check. Then obviously the fuse block on th back of the motor. Dealer said it very well could of been a weird boot and it all just needed to reset itself.
  3. I skied this morning. Didn’t set any records, but spent a lot more time at -15 and -22 trying to ski wide and early in the correct position. I’m sure it wasn’t perfect, but was able to get some things accomplished. Every time I got into -28, I made a solid attempt. Very consistent scoring all morning.
  4. @PurdueSkier yes sir it is.
  5. @wart thanks!! Headed to the course tomorrow. Excited to think through all this info and spend some time working on this.
  6. How do you all focus on your counter? Coming around 2 ball do you look for 4 or exaggerate even more? Mine is getting better, but still rather closed off compared to the big dawgs.
  7. @Killer thank you!! Our course does have pregates, and I try to use them to the best of my ability. -15, I pullout right before the boat hits them. -22, I try to pullout as the windshield passes them. -28, I pullout as the motor or rear seat section gets through them. Honestly I feel most consistent on my -28 pullout/gates. Most evenings I run -15 and -22 first attempt and then spend the remainder of 2-3 sets messing around -28 and on my good nights I get to make some attempts at -32. Yes, last night was the first time this season we had gotten some good video(my brother is my ski partner). We spent a fair amount of time discussing screenshots we had taken and comparing them to screenshots of the videos in the “edge change” thread. We have some work to do, but having a blast.
  8. @Texas6 and @skiboyny sweet stuff. I will continue working on this and see what I can come up with. Thank You!
  9. @Texas6 Thank you for the feedback, seems to make sense. I have been adjusting my pullout all year. I pullout, think to myself I better stand tall so I can let the boat take the slack and I won't be late. What usually happens is, I get sucked in because I stood up too early and then I'm obviously narrow right off the get go.
  10. @eyepeeler thank you! Some of the guys I have skied with a bit were instructing on a softer start headed to my gates. I am not saying they are correct. They kept saying "work behind the boat". Again, I'm not even sure what that exactly means. Something that seems to be creating a lot of issues is as I create more space my timing is way off and I feel like I am out there waiting on the ball. Like I am changing edges too early and have even made my turn too early and skied inside the ball a couple of times lately. Maybe not even casting the ski out and only skiing to the ball? I would honestly rather run -22 for my opener than -15 because I feel "stronger"?? and more consistent? I don't know, I am frustrated because I am not even familiar enough with what I should feel like on a ski to be able to verbally express what I am experiencing. Last year I was just scraping everything together, and now I am beginning to feel the ski work for me. Only problem is I am not sure what I am doing differently to create that. Thank You.
  11. Here is my longer line passes. See what ya think and feel free to tell me everything I’m doing wrong. Just trying to wrap my head around this sport.
  12. This is my second year skiing, and last year the big dawg Freddie winter got me through the course for the first time running 28mph. The guy that owns my club watches us ski a bit and helps, but other than that it’s been freeskiing trying to work on some stuff and move to the course to implement it. Reading this website trying understand how to make the ski work for us also.
  13. Hey guys, I’m on a 2017 66” vapor, running stock settings. I am running my -15 and -22 pass consistently, actually feeling more confident at -22. I get to -28 and just feel like I fall apart. I have been trying to ski early and wide at -15, and continue with that at -22. Also been working on pull out/gates a lot, but still struggle. If not timed correctly, I feel as if I can start to sink as I begin my turn into the gates or I become narrow. Usually feeling okay coming into 1 ball and getting to 2 okay, but I can’t get the ski to turn for me on my onside. I have tried messing with my fin a bit, but just kept feeling worse and worse on it. Obviously I’m not doing a ton correctly, but looking for what I could be focusing on to move through -28 more consistently. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
  14. thank you @Chef23, I will get on that.
  15. @Justin_C wow I am glad you posted this. I am fighting something extremely similar to this. I run my 15 and 22 rather well. I am going to say 99% of the time. Once I cut the rope to 28, I completely fall apart on my onside turns. I was getting more consistent for the last month, probably getting to run it 50% of the time. Within the last week, I have fallen at 2 ball 95% of the time. I am creating more space than I ever have at 28, but doing worse through the course. I feel great coming into the ball and am excited to make a nice turn and then in the last 10% of the turn, its like I just fall over. My brother and I ski by ourselves and really don't know of any other great skiers/coaches in the local area, and we have never really messed with our fins before. I am rather excited to see what kind of input others have to say on this discussion for you. I have no clue where to begin and what kind of different feelings to expect. As this is only my 2nd summer in the course, I honestly don't know if I am physically making a change in my technique or if my ski is doing the work.
  16. I’m a MC guy that takes my boats to a nautique dealer. While I was having some gel work done this winter. I was looking around and he was fixing a g23 that the boat next to him had caught fire. At the time of drop off he was doing glass work on it and when I picked mine up, he had finished it. I thought it was a different boat. I assumed they had totaled the one I first saw. I would have good faith that they will have you fixed up.
  17. Update: just drove an hour to my ski club. Was thinking about my hands too much and forgot my life jacket.
  18. My hands are backwards I guess and I don’t think I’ve ever been so stressed out thinking about something. I never knew that was a thing. My gear will be for sale tomorrow cause I can’t handle the stress. I bet its because the carpet in my boat gets wet. That seems to be a direction correlation of how well you do things correctly or not.
  19. I have the same struggle. As soon as I focus more on the timing and position of my pull out. I have much greater success.
  20. I have never seen the back seat in the 200 at the club, but it looks like the grab handles could be used in the same way as a 197 does it? It wouldn't be as large as the 197, but still have a nice sitting area during floating. My brother and I use our boats almost 100% just for leisure boating, but want to be able to ski when we cant make it to the club. It is a weekly conversation of which is best for an all around family day at the lake. Saddles are awesome at the club while one person is not skiing, but not sure where I would put my large cooler for long days on the lake in a 200. My 197 with a tower was amazing for taking 4-6 people, drinks, wakeboard, combo skis, and even deflated tubes out on public water for the day. Lets be honest, neither boats are gonna make for a terrible day on the lake!!!
  21. Last boat was a 197 and our club boat is a 200 and I now have a 14 prostar. I miss the sundeck option of the 197 so much, it was amazing for afternoons spent floating around the lake. I like my new boat quite a bit, but no place to really "relax". The 200 is an amazing club boat, but not sure how awesome it would be to take the family out for the day in. Probably depends on what you all enjoy doing with your free time.
  22. Awesome stuff. As a 2 year old course skier trying to find ways to connect to other skiers recently, this is extremely encouraging to see. I have talked to 3 ski clubs just today about joining but they are all full. Which I completely understand and it is more than fair, but I just want some buddies that are all pushing each other to ski harder than the next. I almost didn’t join a club because I thought I sucked too much and no one would want to waste good water on someone new to the sport. Thank you for the cause.
  23. Is this cover still available? Thank You
  24. MC NXT Prostar. As a young adult trying to work my way into the competitive skiing market, finding a stripped down 14’ prostar has been one of the better things that has happened. It has no rear or bow seats, no carpet, or racks. I was able to buy it at an affordable price and have a nice low payment. As money is available, I will be able to add these features. I got the “best” technology available without the fancy features. Im not sure if it helps them as a manufacturer on price point, but maybe a series of boats that has limited color choices, actual gauges, possibly a more economic interior option. Just my .02 from a guy that bought his first boat four years ago to wakeboard, but now obsessed with course skiing.
