1989 Ski Brendella 1993 Malibu Echelon

Just delivered.... Super clean boat, going to transplant a crate motor in (current engine seized and severely overheated) and swap my PP Stargazer in. Only 304 hours on the boat. MANY THANKS to @skier2788 !! Travis went waaaay above the call of duty on helping me get this 1000 miles east of where it lived. Our community is small, and this case especially he really stepped up... Going to ski my Brendella rest of this year. It’s been an awesome first boat that just runs and sounds bad ass... If anyone is in the market for a super clean 1000 hour Brendella with a lot of upgrades let me know. I also have a shipper that runs all over the country that is outstanding...

Ride MX in the off season to maintain strength...nice to have a track in my back yard...

I know Stillwater in WI went quick, they were pumping a sh*t load of water OUT while building/digging.

Request enlightenment: I know what “chine walk” is, what is “chine lock”?? Assuming (VERY dangerous) the chines lock the boat down and you’re unable to steer?

Have a Faria GPS speedo on one side and the PP Stargazer on the other...looks very nice...

30 year old Brendella...100% reliability since I’ve owned it...turn the key it runs... No codes, no cats, no electronics to become intermittent. When I purchased it I did put some time and money into it but that’s because it was NOT taken care of the way I take care of my stuff...just turned over 1000 hours on it last week.

@BraceMaker I’m glad to see this sport has declined to the level that you must have a new boat otherwise you’re not worthy to participate, or your neighbors won’t ski behind your boat because it’s not new enough...and you wonder the the sport is declining? What a bunch of elitest bullshit....

I updated my 1989 Brendella with GPS speedometer, Stargazer PP. It works great at my level of skiing. PCM 351 runs awesome, just turned 1000 hours on the boat. Do you REALLY need ZO? Do you REALLY want to yank a perfectly good engine to upgrade to a Zero Off EFI compatible powerplant? It’s going to be very expensive, but if that’s what YOU want and the Hull is in great condition go for it! Probably won’t recoup the investment if/when you sell but in the meantime you have a great boat.

I get to hear that same sound every time I ski behind my Brendella...

Hour and a half or so.... Our lake was just closed again for high water levels. We have had 8+ inches of rain in the last 5 days...

Brian is one of the principles (at least he is/was for competition) @ Stillwater. His wife is also an active 3 event skier (I THINK she was the Wisconsin state champion last year or the year before). I don’t have his contact info. He’s listed on the WI waterski site. If you just wander out there on a weekend I’m sure someone can hook you up with the right people. It’s a beautiful site. Everyone I’ve had contact with is super nice. Big Dog Jeff lives on the lake as well. Really interesting story as to how that site came to be. Would really like to be on that lake (not sure if the neighbors would care for a GE going into afterburner once in a while)...

Eat right day of...can’t run the bod out of gas.... And remember this is supposed to be FUN! And unfortunately the fun factor is probably why I won’t compete...I’m such a perfectionist who hates to mess up, it would probably keep me from having any fun at a contest. But I’m ok with that...Still LOVE to ski and no judging on my EZ slalom course.

We plucked someone out of Jacksonville FL early Thursday morning...weather was great other than a bit windy. Went back Friday morning great weather and no wind...

There’s one for sale in my area, Super clean $6500. Im kinda familiar with the Outback (a much larger boat). Not really that interested in it, my dinosaur Brendella has been treating me right at my level of suckage. Thanks for all the good intel!

Lake Associations have no governing power for bodies of water in Wisconsin. They CAN implement a tax district for the the lake. The DNR and Township (usually the township governs the body of water) in which the lake is located in have jurisdiction. We just found out that our lake was closed by the township due to high water almost all summer. Ends up the township that claimed they had an ordinance allowing lake closure did not have an ordinance thus no power to close the lake. A resort on the lake lost over 100K in revenue due to the lake closure. Looks like there is a class action lawsuit against the township and board members coming down the pike. Normally board members are not subject to litigation, but in this case they willfully and knowingly acted inappropriately. As of now it kinda looks like the township is going to have to get the big boy checkbook out...will see...
