  1. Take a look at Connelly GT, 2014 or newer. I had old Obrien Mapple and did much better on Connelly's since. They are easy to ride right out of the box. ski-it again.com has tons of them cheap and owner can ship to UK, definitely much cheaper than you buying it there.
  2. I am guessing he meant he was inside the ball, referencing the ball as the line, if inside the line, it doesn't count, probably at the end of a pass and couldn't go any further, so what was last ball or line to clear. If end of their pass, this is what he meant
  3. I had some Radar Vector bindings that the rubber disintegrated behind the ankle. I took them back to dealer who I brought them from, who then contacted Radar, and Radar covered it, I got newer Boa Vectors with aluminum plates, paid difference between aluminum and feather. Great warranty service, and I love the new bindings. I give Radar cudo's for standing behind them and updating material on new ones using Carbitex which seems to hold up and be more responsive.
  4. I believe it is a big disadvantage to ski an old rope and handle, they lose their power after time, get too stretched out, and you don't get the slingshot effect to get over and free of the boat. It is much better to switch handles and ropes out to keep this freshness and slingshot power. How long to keep them depends on how much you ski, I'd say 2 years max, less if you go a lot. Every year is safest. If you ski a stretched out rope and go to a new one you will realize what you are missing.
  5. I have Radar Boa bindings with aluminum plates front and back and love them. I come right out of them on any super hard falls and the new Boa design added Carbitex to sides, so a bit more responsive and super comfortable. I feel very safe and still get performance, and the comfort is best out there.
  6. I wonder what changes are from 2019 to 2020, I don't think they did a whole lot different. Any one know?
  7. The GT also sits lower in the water, so both GT & GTR had to help in those conditions, especially compared to Goode which rides high in water, so great if mirror, but not as good in everything.
  8. Masterline rubber is best, doesn't wear out like other brands which is a big problem on others.
  9. Did Connelly come up with a new improved GT-R for 2020 or are they staying put with 2019 model? It looks like everyone else is changing over models but heard nothing from Connelly?
  10. I like Radar Vice gloves with Kevlar underglove. This combo helps your forearm from burning out transferring load to wrist, and with the strap and undergloves, it really cuts down on calluses, and strap helps with get ups also.
  11. How does everyone clean their boat lift canopy? It's vinyl. Just soap and water or does someone know of a good formulated spray that works?
  12. SIA51340 I have 2019 new HO boots for sale for $135/each if interested.
  13. It appears as though Radar made a mistake and used a material that doesn't hold up in water or wet environments, not good, but looks like they recognized the mistake and are changing out the material that will last what they are used for. I've seen other binding just falling apart behind the ankles, change the material is the ticket.
  14. I had a pair of 2018 Radar Vector boots both front and rear boots that basically disintegrated behind the ankle and fell apart. WTH? I took them back to the local dealer, and was impressed Radar covered it under warranty. I ordered new 2019 Radar Boa boots with aluminum plates, paid the difference of about $50. Previous version had the feather plate. I can say I really respect Radar standing behind the warranty, and love the new Radar Boa's. They changed the material to Carbinex sides, and they are super comfortable and more responsive than the old Vectors. I give Radar credit for innovating and improving the design and standing behind warranty. Kudo's to them.
  15. So is it official 4 1/2 or does she tie it at 4?
  16. Looking for recomendations for dock type bumpers for galvanized posts with union and cross bar. The ones I have don't seem to fit over the post and tuck in like they should due to bolts, wondering if anyone found something a little better design
  17. I really like the new Radar Boa system, super comfortable, no soap, I come out of them on any crashes, and still performs well. Good bang for buck and improved technology. I like them much better than today's rubber bindings, and not the cost of hard shells.
  18. I think you will really like the Connelly GT or new GT-R. It is an easy ski to use right out of the box, nothing to get use to, just go and smooth turns and good acceleration. Because it sits a little lower than Goode's, I think it is easier to ski and control. I have a GT and love it, I may upgrade to the GT-R soon.
  19. I have some new 2019 boots reduced price on Ski it Again, size 8-9, SIA51340
  20. Jay, will the fin help a lot in off side turns. I have a very strong on-side, but much poorer off side. If I could make them more similar I could jump up 2 line lengths. I seem to have more issues since switching to Zero off boat vs Perfect Pass, I am about 205 and have a strong pull behind the boat. I think ZO hits me different and pulls me out. I need help on the off side, not getting pulled out of position and leave me in power position to accelerate to get early for powerful on side coming if not late. I always seem to be late coming out of offside, so need the ski to come around a bit faster to get in position. What are your thoughts? I am skiing a Connelly GT at 34 mph and really like the ski for my style. I would like to get back to making 28's easy and 32's occasionally. If even turns on both sides, 35 would definitely be possible and would be happy to get to anywhere close to old levels.
  21. Why did the PTM mirror design it to sit soo high on the windshield? It seems to catch all the wind and would be better if more forward into the boat and not as high, plus you can't see back half of boat, more just behind the boat. You don't use that space forward of windshield, so good spot and then more protected and can position it better.
  22. I think it may be the 2 fuel pumps, the small feeds larger one. This went out on mine, and was an easy fix. It's not getting the fuel because of bad pump is my guess.
  23. I have a pair of brand new style 2019 HO animal front and rear medium bindings. I’m asking $170/each and they also come with black matching screws. For 2019, we've given the best-selling waterski boot of all time, the Animal, upgrades to improve on its performance and functionality. The Animal boot now features a 100% natural rubber overlay, molded to the original Animal overlay shape. This results in a snugger, more comfortable fit than ever before. The front Animal boot is designed with a thick rubber overlay for increased front boot control, while the rear Animal boot is designed with thin rubber overlay for less back boot control to compliment front hardshell boots. Now with a softer durometer and a heat-moldable EVA tongue and heel, you'll have the rubber boot feel you want with far less overall weight. In addition, the new softer and thinner brushed EVA footbed increases comfort and is designed to equalize skiers' front and rear foot height when using hardshell boots. FEATURES: •100% Natural Rubber Overlay, MOLDED to the Original Animal Overlay Shape •Front Animal Boot designed with THICK rubber overlay for increased front boot control, Rear Animal Boot designed with THIN rubber overlay for less back boot control to compliment front hardshell boots. •NEW Softer Durometer, Heat Moldable EVA Tongue and Heel for rubber boot feel with less weight •NEW Softer, Thinner, Brushed EVA Footbed for increased comfort, designed equalize skiers' feet height when using front hardshell boots •Traditional high performance design •Rebuildable long lasting design SIA51340 SKI-IT-AGAIN FRIENDS ad_mdwsa.gif advertise.gif banner_usawaterski_100x45_001.gif donations_button2_paypal.gif stateamind_advertise_100x45.gif banner_mini_superiorboatrepair_100x45.jpg banner_mini_ezslalom_100x45.gif banner_mini_pacific-slalom_100x45.gif banner_mini_dyna-ski_100x45.gif banner_mini_spotlessboat_100x45.jpg banner_mini_dri-port_100x45.gif banner_mini_h2oproshop_100x45_201703.gif banner_mini_vantage_100x45_002.gif banner_mini_miaminautique_100x45.gif banner_mini_boulderboats_100x45_007f.gif ad_ballofspray.gif
  24. I work in automotive, boats basically just lunch off the R&D from automotive. They take the engine and trans and marine-ize it at a hefty premium, yet didn't have the cost of all the R&D of the powertrain itself. The fiberglass hulls have changed over the years but did so every few years in past, really not much of a difference. Other new upgrades like ZO and heated seats, are really just purchased modules from a supplier added on to final costs. So from this point of view, and comparing what goes into automotive and the prices over the years for cars and trucks, and dramatic changes they made at about a 6% profit basis, it is no comparison, boats are far easier and cheaper, cost more with far less parts and requirements. Then so much less regulations to worry or design to. There is no back up camera's, lane assist, blind spot sensors, crash avoidance, front, side and rear impacts, fancy u-connect and navigation systems, heated wheel and seats, climate control zones, or tuning for suspension, and added creature comforts, designing not only for manufacturing, but service, which is poorly designed for in boats. The list goes on and on. Therefore, I have to conclude the price increases have far exceeded any development costs, I believe cost increases are going into profit and of course boats have lower volumes, but not any different than in past. How can they justify 30% increases in past few years alone? Doesn't add up at all.
