  1. @Fastguy888 - What editing software do you use to get a subject-followed crop?
  2. Hey @Maxsend, my HERO11 is coming in the mail tomorrow, just wanted to check in if you've discovered anything new/useful for pylon-mounted ski recording since these last posts? I'll be using a Wakeye mount. And a couple specific questions: 1. In the Labs QR generator, what are the "Camera Mode" settings (1st line/option)? The word "endurance" doesn't show up anywhere in the HERO11 manual. 2. For the "Preset" options (2nd line/option), it seems like those are just "all-in-one" settings that would adjust the rest of the options (ie, from the manual: "Cinematic captures stunning 5.3K high-resolution video (4K in Extended Battery Mode) at 30 fps. This preset uses the Linear digital lens.") I assume I just don't select any of those options, then? Just out of curiosity, what would happen if I selected "Cinematic" but then manually picked 4k60fps, which is in conflict with the Cinematic preset? 3. For the GPS speed activation option, I assume the HERO11 is the same as the 10 in that I need to keep the LCD on, and thus should also set the brightness to low? Below are the settings I've got prepped, let me know if you see anything amiss: Thanks!!
  3. I think we can include Wakeye on the list. I haven't seen a blip from anywhere or anyone in about 3 years now.
  4. I've used a T-Factor for a while now, love it. But I just snapped the laces on the bottom section while pulling on them to tighten. I'm sort of in between sizes so I have a larger boot but tighten down the laces basically as hard as I can. The top bungee laces on the stock T-Factor are thicker and the bottom laces thinner... but is there any reason not to just use thicker laces on the bottom too? Especially if I'm breaking them when tightening.
  5. One less barge destroying the water and coast.
  6. @jhughes I took 3 or 4 looks at 32off, it was a trip man. I feel way too close to the boat and there's NO wake! I can't even say it was "hard" yet because the predominant feeling was just like, confusion. I can round 1 ball with about 10 feet of slack though! 😆
  7. Oh boy... 🤣 I got your tagline: "You haven't really seen a foot... until you've seen the foot of a world-class athlete."
  8. Yeah my goal for this summer was to run 28off, so... new goal is to run 32off!!
  9. "Well, if you won't brag for yourself, have friends/family who will do it for you." I will admit I had my practice PB wrong, so I tied it at the tournament, but who cares cause then I ran all 6 the next two days! My only hesitation in posting the video is that it's honestly not that great a pass lol, lots to work on still, but here's the PB-breaker. That's @Zaneh2oski goading me on, he was there doing coached sets all day (see my post about that here).
  10. My brother Carl @Nautique99 and I just hosted @Zaneh2oski for a day of coaching in Indiana. He skied a local tournament with us on Saturday, then on Sunday coached 12 people across a total of 20 sets. Zane was a fantastic ski coach, and feedback from the skiers was super positive. His passion for water skiing and his enthusiasm for skiers of all abilities was present throughout. He's also ridiculously easy going :). During my second coached set, I smashed my previous PB of 2@34mph/28off by running all 6! I highly recommend reaching out to Zane and setting up something similar for your ski community. He's great teaching little kids and total beginners too!
  11. Amazing!! We gotta get this on Netflix. Anyone know what the realistic chances of doing so are? The timing is perfect - This type of "sports behind the scenes" documentary is really hot right now: Drive to Survive, Full Swing, Break Point, this could be next!
  12. What was up with the "radioactive green" water?
  13. It's quite simple really, just get your nuts on your chin! 🤣 (just in case it's not clear, do not do this)
  14. Message them on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/radarskis
  15. Sangria flake, right?! Looks stellar!
  16. Do Regina's bindings not release? Check out her interview (video will start at correct timestamp). I don't see a release mechanism, at least on the front boot (can't see the back). And I know this may be an unpopular take, but can Tony please cut down on saying "uh"? Using the same video clip as above, after the interview is over, Tony says "Alright then, and, uh, our good friends we can actually, uh, trust and rely upon to, uh, to bring us some, uh, some stats, er, on occasion." = 5 "uh/ers" in one sentence. Granted that is a particularly heavy example, but as a highly experienced announcer, he ought to be cutting out those filler words. As Horton says though, still AMAZING what TWBC does, and a million x thank you. Not trying to rag on them, just suggestion for continual improvement.
  17. @motoxr If you're looking for "boat porn," follow my ski boat Instagram 😁 - Water Ski Boat Gallery (@skiboats_only) • Instagram photos and videos
  18. Do you take video of yourself? IMHO, that is the single greatest tool/action one can implement for improving as a skier. It allows you to get video coaching, but even if no one but you ever sees it, it gives so much insight. I video every single pass I do and I find almost constantly that I think I look one way, but the video proves otherwise and shows me the places I need to improve.
  19. One clarification about "pulling with arms" - I know that during the cut (ball to 2nd wake), you want your arms totally straight. But going from 2nd wake to ball, all the pros bend their arms. My understanding is this to maintain rope connection/tension and outbound swing even while edge changing and beginning to turn the opposite direction. In @scoke's 3rd pic ture, "pulling with arms," it shows the skier well past the 2nd wake, when I thought it was good to be "pulling with arms," to bring the rope in. But it's given as an example of what not to do? I'm confused.
  20. Looking for recommendations for wind protection options/solutions for an "average" size slalom ski lake, with the qualities you'd expect: dense foliage that extends low to the ground, grows quickly, hardy/not sensitive to conditions, low maintenance, and ideally inexpensive. Certainly open to out-of-the-box ideas too, my brother recently pondered if bamboo would work? It does grow crazy fast. Or how about just piles of dirt? 😄 EDIT/ADDITION: for my purposes, I'm looking at lower Midwest area, but feel free to post recommendations for other regions as well to create a little database of info.
  21. $400 off of list, in pristine condition: https://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=64904
  22. I'm flying on United to Florida next month for ski school. Typically United charges a $200 oversize fee for a checked back over 63 linear inches (sum of L,W,H). But am I correct in reading United's "Sport Equipment" section that I won't be charged an oversize bag fee as long as my bag only contains ski gear and isn't over 50 lbs (even though it's close to 100 linear inches)? And even if that's supposed to be true, does anyone have direct experience whether they actually honor that or if it's a hassle?
