  1. What was up with the "radioactive green" water?
  2. It's quite simple really, just get your nuts on your chin! 🤣 (just in case it's not clear, do not do this)
  3. Message them on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/radarskis
  4. Sangria flake, right?! Looks stellar!
  5. Do Regina's bindings not release? Check out her interview (video will start at correct timestamp). I don't see a release mechanism, at least on the front boot (can't see the back). And I know this may be an unpopular take, but can Tony please cut down on saying "uh"? Using the same video clip as above, after the interview is over, Tony says "Alright then, and, uh, our good friends we can actually, uh, trust and rely upon to, uh, to bring us some, uh, some stats, er, on occasion." = 5 "uh/ers" in one sentence. Granted that is a particularly heavy example, but as a highly experienced announcer, he ought to be cutting out those filler words. As Horton says though, still AMAZING what TWBC does, and a million x thank you. Not trying to rag on them, just suggestion for continual improvement.
  6. @motoxr If you're looking for "boat porn," follow my ski boat Instagram 😁 - Water Ski Boat Gallery (@skiboats_only) • Instagram photos and videos
  7. Do you take video of yourself? IMHO, that is the single greatest tool/action one can implement for improving as a skier. It allows you to get video coaching, but even if no one but you ever sees it, it gives so much insight. I video every single pass I do and I find almost constantly that I think I look one way, but the video proves otherwise and shows me the places I need to improve.
  8. One clarification about "pulling with arms" - I know that during the cut (ball to 2nd wake), you want your arms totally straight. But going from 2nd wake to ball, all the pros bend their arms. My understanding is this to maintain rope connection/tension and outbound swing even while edge changing and beginning to turn the opposite direction. In @scoke's 3rd pic ture, "pulling with arms," it shows the skier well past the 2nd wake, when I thought it was good to be "pulling with arms," to bring the rope in. But it's given as an example of what not to do? I'm confused.
  9. Looking for recommendations for wind protection options/solutions for an "average" size slalom ski lake, with the qualities you'd expect: dense foliage that extends low to the ground, grows quickly, hardy/not sensitive to conditions, low maintenance, and ideally inexpensive. Certainly open to out-of-the-box ideas too, my brother recently pondered if bamboo would work? It does grow crazy fast. Or how about just piles of dirt? 😄 EDIT/ADDITION: for my purposes, I'm looking at lower Midwest area, but feel free to post recommendations for other regions as well to create a little database of info.
  10. $400 off of list, in pristine condition: https://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?endless=summer&topic=Search&category=Slalom&postid=64904
  11. I'm flying on United to Florida next month for ski school. Typically United charges a $200 oversize fee for a checked back over 63 linear inches (sum of L,W,H). But am I correct in reading United's "Sport Equipment" section that I won't be charged an oversize bag fee as long as my bag only contains ski gear and isn't over 50 lbs (even though it's close to 100 linear inches)? And even if that's supposed to be true, does anyone have direct experience whether they actually honor that or if it's a hassle?
  12. I'll always enjoy watching Freddie ski, but I'm not going to vote without knowing what actually happened. That's like asking a jury to decide if a defendant is guilty or innocent before a trial starts, without hearing any evidence.
  13. You get unprompted texts from your brother (and fellow skier) that say things like: "The wind has been below the forecasted level for the past 90 minutes."
  14. @MBlohm You beat me by 6 hours to the post. Seems KOD is just a touch behind in updating the schedule 😆
  15. Just FYI for clarity, your post title says LP2 but your review text still says LP1.
  16. @lpskier That is so messed up. Well, I'm officially anti-Nautique now. (to be clear: because of the Jacinta situation, not this stuff with Freddie, which is gray enough and I don't have the details I'd need to really decide. But with Jacinta that's just wrong).
  17. @Stathis Ventouris You did explain well what happened on the water, but that's not why Freddie got banned. The question is what Freddie did or said afterwards to get banned, which we don't know. - By golly geewilickers, mama'll be might'a mad if Freddie said a curse word! 😂 I hope to God (pun intended) that wouldn't be considered a valid reason for banning. @ETskier Having "the right" to do something means it's not illegal/punishable by law, but that doesn't mean it's a good decision or that we can't criticize Nautique for it.
  18. Yeah this is a pretty severe punishment. If the offense wasn't comparably severe, this is out of line on the part of Nautique. In professional sports, every player argues calls with referees almost constantly. In my mind, to be banned from 3 events like this would require something like threatening harm/retaliation to the judges. If Freddie did do that, okay. If not, let the man ski!
  19. It's rare to get much agreement amongst water skiers when it comes to gear, but it seems a solid majority vouch for Stokes vests and wetsuits as the best out there (excepting Camaro suits which are unbeatable temperature-wise but also quite fragile).
  20. Here's Horton's review of the Platinum: KD Platinum Review - Skis Fins Bindings - BallOfSpray And here's his review of the Titanium: KD Titanium - Review - Articles - BallOfSpray
  21. I've been using the Miami Ski Nautique gloves the last two seasons and love them. Only other glove I'm curious to try is the Stealth Lite. I know the Stealth Kevlar has a lot of fans. Anyone used both the MSN gloves and the Stealth Lite gloves and can offer a comparison?
