  1. carbonfins.com was better. ...only joking @Horton ;) BOS is a collection of dudes who love skiing as much as me. Thats all it needs to be.
  2. as a member of the rest of the world - outside of the US of A... I ask you to please vote for Ron Paul in 2012!!!! I cant wait to see how the GOP reacts when he wins in Iowa. haha!! Seeing I cant, you can donate for me here - http://www.ronpaul2012.com/ :D
  3. you could probably find plenty of 'used' goodes to make chairs out of pieces of skis. oooooooooo!
  4. favourite US lake - trophy. favourite home site - moodemere. almost the perfect natural ski lake, and it skis sweet.
  5. for the most part, its only harder in relation to fixed points - a slalom course. you have less rope to get to the required width. think of a playground swing, the longer the swing, the slower and more mellow it swings. with a shorter length, it will swing much faster. You (the skier) still needs to get to the same width as on a longer rope to run the course. Therefore, it requires more effort, technique and skill to be able to do that.
  6. Claire Lise? edit: didnt see dirts post above.
  7. have a look here and see if this can give you some info JAW. http://awsaeast.org/official/download.php Ive never used WSTIMS (we use european scoring software here in australia), but have many years experience with VJ and VT (I am assuming you are talking about Corsons software). Currently, VJ and VT will not work on windows vista or 7 and I havnt heard of any developments to update the programs to these OS's. Another issue is getting the programs to recognise the capture devices you are using. The most success I have seen with laptop use, is with a PCMCIA capture card, on a laptop with XP... good luck. http://www.utoronto.ca/ski/water/software/vj/index.html
  8. what dont you like about 32 accounts @rico? back in the day when I was your sons age @DanE I would tape the moomba masters here in Australia every year. Each day there would be 4 hours or so of skiing live on TV for 3 days! I would watch it over and over again. I knew every score of every round of every skier, and could probably have put the tv on mute and done the commentary also! haha Spending hours in front of the tv watching my tapes of wade, andy, and that young new kid on the block, chris parrish, is probably one of the main reasons why I fell for the sport. Get him every video you can get your hands on!
  9. I was doing some random ski browsing earlier and ended up on the D3 website. It says whisper is on a 64" X7. Is this true? Yes, he is no 6'5" 190lb giant, but 64" seems short!
  10. good find. wasnt there a sega arcade ski game also? in the 90's?
  11. I think its obvious to all of us that chet can run 38 a LOT better than this. Out of 2-4 he probably isnt connected as much as he would like but its not bad.. His gate turn in is something ive always questioned/wondered about. He has done this same gate for years. It appears as if he drops his hips back on the ski to help roll it in. Yet he moves to the handle and by the time he picks the line up he is stacked and connected well. It sure works for him! Personally, I couldnt let my hips get that far behind me and then try and regain it by the time the boat gets on me.
  12. i have been told the pink whitney signature version will be softer than the yellow ski? or is there simply a limited edition mens flex ski for the cause?
  13. Game changer like the barge SN200 needing 400HP+ kind of way? or a 19ft lightweight, economical SKI boat game changer? I think I know which way it will lean. I will believe the new MC when I see it.. lot of talk for several years now..

get a 'ball of spray' tramp stamp...
  15. and then there is the 'x factor' who can get away with this at 39?
  16. Looks like he ran 4 at 39 in round one of under 21 worlds. Does that bring to an end his massive 39 streak? pretty epic. To be able to get away with an earlier edge change, you have to ride the line out very well, and for lack of a better term have excellent 'handle control,' which he does. He is a long way out to the buoy line before his elbow leaves his hip to release and reach. Tell me if you disagree... but, I think he releases the handle 'down and forward' or lower than almost anyone. This to help accelerate his centre of mass up on to his ski, because his ski is out in front of him so much off the second wake. He is not locked up and loaded because he is very square behind the boat and his hips are free to edge change and swing the ski out. He does most things we all try and do, just way better. Stays balanced and level - eyes up, moves with his COM and hips, awesome line control. look how close he is to the ball when he releases. it is 39 though. same thing at 32, just not as obvious.
  17. got into 43 (i would expect that), or RAN 43??? THAT would be news...
  18. @Ed Obermeier, just to clarify, I think Roger has an 09 196. They are selling around the 30k mark, not 30k to upgrade. It would cost you every bit of 30k to upgrade coming from a 90's boat to a newer CC 200, but not from your LXi to a 07-09 196.
  19. im holding out hope for the new PPSG system... Any news on it? website says testing will occur in CA in early september for possible 'very limited production commencing in october'
  20. so richard and others lucky enough to have your hands on a new strada, what are your thoughts? After a difficult 12 months of skiing for a number of reasons, a new stick was a definite for this coming southern summer. The strada was obviously on the short list, a softer flex almost locks it in for me now.
  21. no vest is fine... but no gloves? ouch! ;)
