  1. I'm looking for a used drysuit for my younger cousin. He really got into skiing at the end of last year and wants to start again as soon as the ice clears. He's 5'-4 and about 130 lbs, and we need something that will last a couple years so I'm thinking a Mens medium. Thanks
  2. From what I've seen the Carbon Pro will not be in the low to mid 30's. The promo price is much closer to $40K and was essentially a basic boat with ZO. No heater, shower, bimini, cover, etc. It does have a tandem trailer and I think a stereo so there could be some savings there, but not much. When I compared a similarly equipped CP and 200 CB (both promo's) the price difference was about $7K.
  3. I agree with the other posts, this forum is by far the most informative and constructive site dedicated to skiing. I've pretty much quit going to the other sites because it's mostly a bunch of guys taking shots at each other, there's more discussion on legal issues than skiing.
  4. Jipster, you need to come ski with us at St. Ignatius next summer. It's a great lake, The warmest water in the state. This winter is getting old, I'm ready for Spring.
  5. Thanks, I'll give Wiley's a call.
  6. Hey guys, where's the best place to send a drysuit to get repaired? I have an Oneill Assault suit, the cuffs and neck are starting to leak. Considering we start skiing in March in MT I need to stay as dry as possible. Thanks.
  7. Hey Jim, the lake Frank's talking about must be Willow Creek. At least I don't know of any other lakes in that area. I wish we could get one built closer to Missoula.  You guys still skiing? We've been having great weather, probably same as you, but don't think I'll get too much skiing in the rest of the year.
  8. Where's Willow Creek? I had heard there was another lake around Three Forks, is that it? If you don't mind, send me your contact info at justin.edgell@gmail.com. I'll give you a call about this weekend. Justin
  9. JP, Do you ski at the lake in Manhattan? I'll be in Bozeman for Homecoming next weekend, if you're avail I'd love to ski on Sunday. Justin
  10. I'm Justin Edgell, M2 skier for one more season. Live in Missoula, MT ski at a private lake 45 miles north of town. Started skiing when I was 13, tried the course when I was 22 and got hooked. Moved to Houston for work in 2000 and started skiing regularly after I got my boat in 2003. Moved to Montana in Nov '05, now ski regularly from April through Sept. I'm currently on a 67" D3 Nomad RC with Strada Bindings, hope to upgrade next year. I have a '95 SN with Stargazer that's dialed in and skis great. Tournament and practice PB are both 1 @ 35', got to figure out how to get past 1 ball. During the off-season I spend my time snow skiing at the local mountain, some hunting, and spending a lot of time on the forums and waiting for Spring.
  11. I'll be skiing until mid Oct here in Montana. Thought I was done a couple weeks ago, but we've been having a great stretch of weather in the upper 70's and 80's so we'll keep at it. We usually start up again in mid March/early April, in wet/drysuits until mid to late May. I'm thinking about dropping the speed to 34 for the rest of the year to work on technique. I used to ski year round when I lived in TX but actually like having some time off for alpine skiing and hunting, though the off-season in MT is a couple months too long.
  12. That 409 looks like it has the Cat exhaust, that's about a $10K upgrade for 2011 versus the 2010 343 from what I've been told by my local CC promo rep.  Brings the price even lower than a similarly equipped 200. Looking forward to seeing one in person.Â
  13. Just came across this while trying to find some info on the new Centurion boat.  Looks cool, not a fan of the carpet though. Anyone had a chance to ski one yet?   Price seems steep, comparable to a 200 CB promo with the 343.  http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2011-CENTURION-Carbon-Pro-97414225
  14. A friend of mine has a 2010 with the 343 and has pulled several tournaments this year at 4,000'. Pulled 34 and 36 fine and the holeshot was much better than the Malibu. It does turn a lot of RPM's, and is a bit loud inside but had plenty of power.
  15. In MT our water dipped to 60 yesterday, air was low 60's. Borderline drysuit conditions but holding out as long as I can, hate putting on the drysuits in the Fall.Â
  16. I'm on a RC also, my 4th season. I ski into 32' off at 36, occasionally run it. I've been thinking about upgrading next year, mainly because I'm worried about the ski breaking down. That being said I just had my best 2 tournaments and am skiing well so not sure if it's worth it.
  17. We're having 40 mph winds today and they're calling for snow tomorrow. Love Spring in MT!  We skied more in March than in April, it's getting old. After this week's weather our water will be colder than it was at the beginning of April. Might have to move back to Houston
  18. Jipster, I'm in Missoula. We ski at a private lake by St. Ignatius. It's an awesome site, the only problem is the weeds from June - Sept. Are you skiing in Manhattan? I talked with Ty last year, I'll have to make it over there to ski some time this summer.
  19. Thanks for the tips guys. Definately have to look into the Reward product. I've talked with the owner and he hasn't wanted to drag the lake in the past, maybe we can change his mind.
  20. How do you drag the lake? Do you hook something up to your boat? I'm thinking we'll have to do something like that.
  21. We're having a huge problem with milfoil at our lake. By July it gets to the point that you have to make 6 passes through the course to create a path so the ski doesn't get caught in it. The prop gets all wrapped up also. The other problem is that the owner of the lake doesn't want to use herbicide to take care of the problem.  The ice just came off and all the weeds are at the bottom, they usually don't start growing until mid to late May. So my question is, will dyeing the lake early in the year when the weeds are at the bottom of the lake help? I know it's good prevention, but with the lake already infested I have a feeling we'll just be wasting our money. Carp aren't allowed in Montana, so we can't go that route, legally anyway. As a side note, we've been skiing since the first weekend in March. Weather's been in the 50's and 60's, water mid-40's, not bad for MT this time of year, bring on the global warming!
  22. I have a 12" radius handle from In-Tow, 1.03" dia. Been using the In-Tow handles for several years and never had any problems. I bought a rope from her last year and for a few extra $, she'll add training loops in the rope. I had her add 30', 33.5', and 36.5' off loops. Service is great, usually get the handles or ropes within a week
  23. There's a nice promo in MT that's available. 2009 196 Limited. That's a lot closer to OR than the east coast, and the owner would probably meet you half way or better. It's listed on ski-it-again, look for the one in Helena, MT
  24. Same here, free ski at one length shorter than I can consistently run. I also slow the boat down to 34 when I free ski. Not sure why, but 36 feels a lot faster on the cold clean water lakes. Last year I was forced to free ski quite a bit because of a weed problem at our site and my tournament scores improved by 3 bouys. It definately helped me, takes a little while to figure out the timing and rythm, but when you do it's a lot of fun.
  25. 196 with ZO.  For slalom, how can you beat it? Mine is a '95 that is paid for, I like almost as much as the new ones.
