  1. How about South Florida? Ski at Okeeheelee... everyone has ZO and we have several great drivers to choose from that I'm sure would be happy to hook up with you. Becky Lathrop - Big Dawg driver, lost count of how many records she has pulled, Jeff Kepchia who pulled Nick's 4@41 record, Paul Santangelo - Big Dawg driver and hopefully me, pulled 7 National records so far. Boats in order of drivers above are 2019 Nautique, 2019 Nautique, Centurion, MasterCraft ProStar. I was hoping to pull you in our record(s) last weekend, but your plans must have changed. Anyway, you would be welcome here anytime.
  2. @ScotChipman1 - From Correct Craft web site: The Ski Nautique comes standard with the reliable and proven performance of the PCM ZR4 engine. Upgrade to our industry-leading technology in the H5DI and H6DI engines. I believe the PCM ZR4 is the 6.0, 409 HP engine.
  3. Waking this thread up from last year. Becky's boat mentioned earlier in the thread was sold and she now has a different 2019. This one is night and day better at the 28 loop! I skied two of my four tournament rounds behind it this past weekend and had no complaints about the wake. In addition, I have pulled tournament sets with it in three tournaments so far since she received it and have heard zero complaints about the wake at any speed or line length (opposite of her last boat). I think there was something not right with the other boat IMO. I love driving the new boat and now I'm back to not picky about which hull I draw in a tournament :)
  4. @Dacon62 - My boat came with the same pole system you have which I discarded after the first (attempted) use. I happened to have the drop through pole system, so I installed it and use it. They are no longer made, so next time I will have to go with a snap pole setup or maybe a vent pole setup. In those, you install either a snap (that the top of the pole clicks into) or a vent (requires cutting a hole for it in the cover, kind of scary, but I had to do that for the drop through as well). Then the pole slips into a receiving area of the vent. I believe I would go with two of these: https://amazon.com/Vico-Marine-Support-Pole-39/dp/B010CEF7EC/ref=sr_1_9?keywords=Vico+Marine+Support+Pole&qid=1558117478&s=gateway&sr=8-9
  5. I wish they still made the quick-stick drop through poles, this was the last set I could find.
  6. How I keep the bimini off the motor box.
  7. At the lake, already undid the buckles, so a little sagged, but when tight, no pooling or any other issues. 3 hour tow twice a year at 70mph, no issues.
  8. All that pole and strap stuff that came with the mooring cover is in my attic. I installed one pole just forward of the pylon and one pole just aft of the engine cover. I use a life saver seat pad to keep the bimini from damaging the engine box. I have no pooling or other issues. I'll see about taking some pictures when I ski tonight.
  9. I live in Florida, so not a cool environment. I regularly drive my 2016 without the fan connected and the current Promo owner's 2019 with the fan connected. If there is a performance difference, I can't feel it. I certainly am annoyed with his fan noise every time I drive his boat in practice or tournaments though...
  10. I disconnected the fan as soon as I got the boat, it's simply not needed. The local Promo owner had disconnected his months earlier with no detrimental effect. I agree the boat is a bit louder from shore than the other two, but not annoyingly so.
  11. I had my fuel sensor replaced with what I was told would become the standard unit used and have not had a single issue since no matter how much or how little fuel I put in. Loud? Have you driven the new Nautique? Maybe with the carpet out it's a little loud, but I keep mine in unless the rain is falling.
  12. See what @Jody_Seal has to say.
  13. @Ed_Johnson - Didn't know you where headed for surgery. Hope the outcome is positive and you are back on the water soon! For everyone else, here is how small a world it can be. Ed and I both participated in the same air show in 1975. We did not know each other. He was a member of the B-D5 Jet Team and I was a member of the skydiving team. I only found out about our dual participation a couple of years ago on this forum B) I am kneeling lower left. Maybe Ed has a shot of his team to offer... Sorry for the thread drift.
  14. @Ed_Johnson - The only Dunlap I know around here is Skip (maybe Danny is his given name, don't know). Sounds like him though. I agree that the prop change and single puck were a big deal on the SN, I just don't feel much of a difference, if any, on the MC. If it turns out that I like the new Plus, I will upgrade, otherwise, my scores have been consistent with my practice scores anyway, so why change? I'll be at the Air Show in Lakeland next Friday BTW...
  15. @Ed_Johnson - That hasn't been my experience (at least with non plus settings). I am considering upgrading my 16 because I might like the new plus. However, just using B2, I can not detect any difference between the single and dual puck MC boats. Sunday, I skied back to back sets between my 16 dual puck boat and our Promo driver's 19 MC to try out the new plus setting. I didn't even feel much of a difference with that (I do not use Plus on my boat). It was windy though, so have to try that again. When we were trying out trick mode a couple of years ago, I really liked that and the new plus mode was supposed to be "similar" to that. It is not though as I can tell when I pull someone in that mode that the engine is not nearly as aggressive as the trick mode testing we did. I have skied to my practice average (practice with my 16 dual puck boat) behind all the single puck boats since it came out (except the initial single puck 5.3 Nautique which everyone struggled with at first). I will test the new plus again on a calm day before deciding if I need to drop $500.00 for the conversion.
  16. @blakeyates - My ski partner owns a Mailibu (which was Regina's), so I drive one several times a week. I pulled the new Men 7 record (1@41) with that boat last year so I'm pretty up to date. Since I'm at Okeeheelee and drive all the tournaments here (and usually all of them at Palm Bay), I drive all 4 hulls as often as I can and pull a wide variety of skiers. All 4 boats currently available for tournaments drive well. The differences between them are not nearly as wide as they were even 5 or 6 years ago. Others may rank them differently than me and that's fine, but I rank them based on my own experience.
  17. I drive all 4 boats regularly and yes, the other boats have closed the gap to the Nautique(s) considerably over the last few years. The Nautiques still have a slight edge in my opinion. Up until the 2019 MC promo arrived at our lake, I would have said the Malibu was 2nd, but now I think (this particular anyway) MC is 2nd to the Nautiques. Based on end course video from the last few tournaments where we had the new Nautique available, our drivers appear to be driving it as well as the 200 in terms of tracking. I will say that it has a different feel to it and takes different inputs than the 200 does as it tends to "rock" side to side a bit vs. the 200. If I have a totally novice driver to ski behind and a choice of boats, I'd still put them in the 200. I currently own a 2016 MC if that matters.
  18. I have not posted in a while, so thought I'd answer some of the feedback directed at me in this thread. First, let me say that I tried the new rope last weekend (thanks to Shelby) and liked the feel a lot, so it's not about that. Second, Okeeheelee was one of the first sites to use the slide loops when they came out and we are quite familiar with them. All the boat judges learned to put the slide side of the loop on the same side of the pylon each time so there would be no fumbling with shortening the line during the tournament. However, we run mostly record tournaments here and always have a camera mounted on the pylon. Getting your fingers in (it's a two hand job with this rope anyway) to pull the loop out is difficult already and exacerbated by the proximity of the mount. Nearly every boat judge complained and we started ordering our ropes with the standard loops instead after that. It's obvious now that the rope can be manufactured with the normal loops, so why not offer both options?
  19. This is how far he's usually leaned over to (barely) get the ski outside the buoy.
  20. Someone needs to explain to me how he (or anyone) gets the ski outside the buoy at 41 off with as little lean angle as he seems to have...
  21. The skier is inside the turn ball, so if that's #2, then 1, #4 then 3, #6 then 5.
  22. Do what you have to, I'm out.
  23. Will they offer this rope in the standard loop series? Every single boat judge I have ever worked with hates the slide loop ropes.
