  1. Yellow Fisher #01 in excellent condition, skied one season. Fin block modified to accept any fin including Stock, Goode, Carbon, Speed, etc. Fin block milled .012", slot sanded. Includes original sock, tools, fin, and metric binding screws. Price: $900.00 (includes shipping in US).
  2. Brent, does he require ZO? If not, there are several for sale under that number.
  3. If you want to have some (extra) fun with your Infinity, give it some throttle in reverse. It's the only tournament ski boat that will plane in reverse... Once they added the "water wings," it became a world class tow boat. Just not enough market share left over after the big three probably.
  4. Nautique. Consistant wake from boat to boat.
  5. Fair enough. When I was 21, I was in two world skydiving records in the span of two weeks. If someone had interviewed me about my skills, I might have just answered that I just got lucky or something /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gif
  6. I hate to be the one to disagree here, but she really didn't answer much: Horton: Soon after your world record performance at Diablo Shores, there was a tremendous buzz on the internet about your skiing. Have you read any of these analyses of your skiing? If so, what do you think? Karina: Haha. I am absolutely flattered that people are really taking note. Especially of a girl skier! I like to keep my skiing simple. Sometimes, if you overanalyze, it clouds!       Ok, let's keep our skiing simple and not overanalyze. Now, what was it you thought about those analysis? Horton: I have seen you ski from the boat, and there is no denying that your skiing is distinctive. How do you describe your “style Karina: I just ride the line......  I believe that it is important to go by feeling, to be able to feel the changes you make so next time you go out and ski, you know exactly the movements you are aiming to develop.      Ride the line and Go by feeling; that tells us a lot. AB from the BallOfSpray Forum asks: Do you focus on any key areas as you get ready to ski a competition round? Karina: Not really. If I feel a little bit sore that particular day I will just make sure I warm up more. Again I just go by feeling...      Same answer. AB from the BallOfSpray Forum asks: What were your keys to becoming consistent at the 38 and 39.5 passes?  Karina: Listening to Matt Rini     No answer. I guess we have to call Matt... SkiDawg (Ward McLain) from the BallOfSpray Forum asks: What is your typical weekly practice schedule? How many sets per day? How much rest in between? Back to backs or up the rope? Any days you just do drills? Karina: Every week is different. Especially if I have tournaments. I don't like to ski too much. I believe quality is better than quantity. If I am getting bored, I'll mix it up a bit.     No answer(s). DW from the BallOfSpray Forum asks: What attributes do you evaluate and rate as important on your ski or equipment choices? How many skis do you go through in a season? Karina: Every ski company has great skis. It's important to go with a ski that you feel the best on and suits your style. Right now, I am riding a Goode SL 9800.    Did not answer the question.
  7. I ski USA WaterSki Tournaments (slalom only) I am also a Senior Driver and a Regular Judge (one more Regionals or Nationals and I'll be a Senior Slalom judge). When we have Nationals at Okeeheelee, I take the week and volunteer.
  8. I think Kim's timing was good, it was 33 degrees this morning here...  Weekend looking good though for air temp. Water temp might be a bit "crisp."
  9. "turnpike" I forgot how nice it was that day /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif "East West" I like it; I seldom get to see my boat in action from the shore. I'm either driving it or skiing behind it (neither of which suck)...
  10. Quote by scoke: "Jfox and I took a ton of pics and I will prolly post some on the server after lunch." Well? And, when is your next visit?
  11. The whole point was for PP to emulate ZO so that people with pre-2007 boats could practice with something close to what they would get in a tournament. The fact that ZO has introduced new software for their pull is irrelivant to those with pre-2007 boats. Joe, I don't know that with a software driven system, you can't change it to at least be closer to the ZO feel (Don't know that you can either of course). As for your PP Classic settings with the switch, I agree that KX- and PX 15 are close, but only close to A. For me, I use KX+ and PX 15 which (to me) feels close to B, which is the setting I like best on ZO. Me and a ZO owner tested this with back to back sets between his boat and mine and we both arrived at the KX+ PX15 setting as being the closest to ZO-B (the 1,2,3 setting had not been introduced yet). On the latest ZO, I now like B1. However, I have not had enough time to try and mess with PP to feel like B1.
  12. I know we supplied two women for the test. Trish is in the shot, but Laurie is missing... did she take the shot or sleep in /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif
  13. Hey buddy, it was a pleasure having you and your friend Johnathan (sp) here this weekend. Thager, it was nice to finally put a face with your forum ID as well! You guys really picked the right weekend I think; the temp is falling rapidly and is supposed to go into the upper 20's tonight (about 28 is the prediction). I've only seen it go that low a couple of times since moving down here in 1996. I take it you got that third set in on Sunday?
  14. Length of ski? Type of bindings? Binding locations? Current fin measurements (including how measured)? When I jump on a new ski, the first thing I do is set the fin to factory stock settings, mount the bindings to factory recommended location and ski. Then, I move the bindings back (or forward) until the ski is stable on both sides. Then make fine asjustments with the fin. The factory fin settings are usually an average of several test riders and will at least work for most riders. If you think all that is in order, next would be video or getting someone with knowledge of what they're looking at watching to see if it's you or the ski.
  15. I just returned from a week of snow skiing at Breckenridge, Co. When we landed in Denver last Sunday, it was -16; the previous record low for that day in Denver was -6 in 1951!
  16. 40! I can kinda remember 40... Have a great day!
  17. Well, I finally got to meet a ballofspray poster in person this past weekend when scoke dropped by Okeeheelee on Saturday. My friend John and I tried our best to spoil him; he took a set behind my boat (2002 SN with PP classic) in our East/West lake and another set behind John's boat (2008 SN with ZO) in our Turnpike lake. He also rode along for our sets. Ski tips and coaching were exchanged in both directions and we had pretty good weather with the air temp at 80 and water around 68. scoke, we had as much fun as you did buddy. Come back anytime! Roger
  18. Quote from jdarwin: "MS - just do what I do - mute it and turn on some Floyd - Pulse preferably. Live "Dark Side" is great with some skiing footage. " It was 1974 and I had not heard much if any Pink Floyd. I go to Deland for a skydiving meet and on the way to altitude, they're playing Dark Side of the Moon on the 8 track, 8 speaker system in the plane. I bought my first (of many) Pink Floyd album the following Monday. I still have that Album as well as a CD and a SACD of it /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-cool.gif What's really strange is that I still have a turntable I can play it on...
  19. scoke, Someone is skiing at Okeeheelee every day... Barring something unforseen, I would be there Saturday. I assume you're not towing your boat down, so you're welcome to ski with me if you like.
  20. We usually ski year round here at Okeeheelee, just a handful of weekends that are too cold (or maybe not too cold if you're from far enough north).
  21. The "official" story is/was that they're moving the manufacturing of the skis to a new facility where production will resume in the Spring. When Spring arrives, we will know for sure. I hope they resume making skis because I don't wish to change to a new ski, but I also don't want to be on a ski I can't easily replace...
  22. >>When is Goode going to start putting inserts in a ski for people who use bindings with screws ? << Goode want's to sell you their Powerplate which will take pretty much any binding. >>"Any chance you could post the review somewhere else? A lot of skiers will not go to his website anymore... "  Why not ? << I don't think the reasons are for this site. Search on the "Water Ski Forum" site for his posts on Zero Off for one example.
  23. Any chance you could post the review somewhere else? A lot of skiers will not go to his website anymore...
  24. One of the problems with 41 at 34 is the timing of peak width. You are only going to be at peak width for a split second and it had better be the split second that is at the ball. Getting wide too early is just as bad as too late at that speed and length. Andy ran it and 3.5 at 43 in a C at Charleston a few years ago and Lucky ran it at a cash prize event (also a C) in Georgia a couple of years ago (did not get around the one ball at 43 though). Evidence would seem to support your theory that it's more difficult at 34. Both speeds with that line length seem impossible to me (PB is 4 @ 38). For kicks at the end of one of my practice sets, I shortened to 41 and just tried the gate. I tried for maximum angle and changed edges a quickly as possible as this is what a skier that gets into 41 suggested. I turned about 1.5 to 2 feet inside the one ball. Very illuminating...
