  1. It seems to me that I do better if I look in the general direction of 5 (LLF)on my onside but offside I do much better if I gaze in between 6 ball and the 6 ball drive buoys.  If I focus at 6 on my offside I feel like I'm looking too far in that direction and don't carry the speed off the ball.   I guess I'm looking more out in front of the boat in my offside. At least that's what seems to work for me right now.
  2. Chuck, did they clean up the offside blues on the 08 Monza?
  3. My wife swears ski flicks are my idea of porn.
  4. LOL. I do know my F1 handles bad conditions with aplomb. Just for curiosity I weighed my Monza and the F1.  There was 1lb 1oz difference between the two.ÂÂÂÂ
  5. Really how much weight difference are we talking about from the lightest ski to the heaviest? I would think it's about 1 or 2 lbs at most and that is spread over the length of the ski as that weight is probably more in the belly of the ski than the extreme ends.
  6. I remember my old KD7000 was a log.   After skiing a number of skis since then in varying weight I think there is a certain point where there is diminishing marginal returns in going lighter.
  7. I don't try to focus on anything specifically. What I end up doing is looking down 2,4,6 line at pullout, then boat, then down 3,5 (general direction not trying to actually focus on each), boat, etc...  I'm usually mentally taking in info on location of hips, handle and location and when I think about looking at exact points I'm not thinking about body position and feel thru the pass.  ÂÂÂÂ

Slow, Let us know how that works with no wing. I may try that too. Our water is down to about 56 degrees and even though I can tell the hardness of the water and that the ski is riding higher it is working pretty well. I think I lost a little on my offside turn but it's still really good.  I'm running 8 degrees on the wing. I tried 9 but it was too much work and it didn't improve the onside consistancy.
  9. Man, I hope those dudes are at least wearing wetsuits over the top of em.  ÂÂÂÂ

Slow I am trying to get my onside turn to be as good as my offside.  The offside is an effortless, no brainer, laser guided, backsiding dream.  My onside can be awesome or just barely OK but I would like it to be consistantly good at least.   This is the complete opposite that I had with the Monza where the onside was a given and the offside was hit or miss. ÂÂÂÂ

AB- stock binding position is at 29.625" for the 68" So either skier32 gave you the Krispy Kreme version or was thinking 67" ski. I heard it a couple places that the 68" F1 likes less tip more in the 6.710 tips range.

The things I personally find with the F1 is that:  1) You CAN NOT pull long!! 2) It likes an aggressive style and you can not baby it, it needs to be on edge....everywhere. 3) It gets better as the line gets shorter. If you have a good pulling position before the wakes and get off the gas by the 2nd wake it carries out like a dream and turns very nice.  It's a great ski and I've skied more consistant and with better results since jumping on it.  It's also extremely forgiving to bobbles along the way.   That being said I'm not sure if it would be a great choice for 15 off at slow speed. Best if he could try it a few times before forking out the dough on one. The typical 15 off skier pulls long, runs late and doesn't have a lot of reach which is the opposite of what I find the F1 needs to run well. My .02
  13. Yeah, but that dude also has a 29ft reach.

Yeah, I've been having some really nice effortless rides on the F1.  I have to go -25rpm to get actuals where b4 it was 0.  I just have to remember to be patient. ÂÂÂÂ

Andy, 6.736 tips is less length than stock settings.  Our water is 70 degrees and about 3 feet visability right now and I'm running 6.890 tips.  The F1 has a great offside so I'm betting the problem is setup related.  I'm LLF and the F1 turns on a dime 2,4 ball.   Your depth and DFT seem in the ballpark. If I go much less than 2.510 I wash out the onside turn if I crank it.  .77-.79 dft is good. Are you left foot forward or right? To get length is that jaws or tips? I heard it's hard to figure out your binding distance on the drafts but I don't know since I haven't seen drafts in person. What's your water like, warm and soupy or cold and hard? If the setup is correct you should be able to jump on the ski and go. I skied the F1 to my PB within the first two sets.ÂÂÂÂ

That's one of the reasons I switched after riding the F1 just once. The offside is a no brainer.   On the onside I had to learn to be slower with the handle.  I was doing so well on the ski that I started to get into the habit of rushing things a bit and I quickly figured out that rushing doesn't work and I just needed to be patient.   ÂÂÂÂ
  18. Thanks 300,  this is good stuff. I just got off the water and my perception and reality are different.   /vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-surprised.gifÂÂÂÂ
  19. More important than height on the pullout is to be advancing on the boat at turn in. This is the only way to turn in and make it toward the centerline before the boat picks you up. If the boat is picking you up out wide, you will be fast at one. For me, at 38, I have no feel in the line at the top of the apex (the boat can't be pulling on you if you are beside it). I have a tendency to seek some line feel by letting the boat advance... That's a good tip. I've been wondering about that since I like a little bit of tension in the rope at the gates with the one handed setup.  ÂÂÂÂ
  20. I got the rope and ARS handle from Brenda in 2 days.  I don't know how it got here so fast by USPS. They usually are 3 at least.  Anyway, I am extremely happy with the rope and handle. Got a few sets on it and then measured it out.  I like the small loops for the pylon and the training loops.    Good stuff!ÂÂÂÂ
  21. That sounds about right. I bought a couple "extras" for $29 each during their closeout.  I should have bought a bunch.ÂÂÂÂ
  22. Uh oh...well, everyone talks so highly about them that I thought I would give it a shot.  Besides that I couldn't find ARS handles anywhere else in a decent diameter.  I miss the skirope.com guys.
  23. Brenda at intow.  I looked at Accurate ARS but they only come in 3 diameters and none of them I like. I bought my previous handles from skirope.com back when they were in business. I run pretty smooth thru -32 but -35 I did what you said, ouch.  Buoyitis got the better of me.
  24. I normally use an ARS handle but the rubber is getting pretty beat so I took a regular handle today thinking that since my elbow is better I should be fine. Wrong. When the handle twists even on getting up I felt it in my elbow.  I just ordered a new ARS and will use my old beater ARS again in the meantime.
