SLOW... I'm now at 6.870 with the tips.  I started out at stock 6.77 tips 2.5 depth  and ended up 2.521/6.870 or 6.755 jaws/.778.   It works extremely well for me at those settings.
  2. You may actually like it better. Let us know. It will be a little damper and not quite as twitchy.  I don't know if it's actually softer as my Monza was pretty soft and I didn't feel much difference between the two flex wise.
  3. As much as I love my F1 I wouldn't recommend it for starting out.  It really likes to be on edge and most longline skiers don't get the ski on edge enough to capitalize on how well that thing turns.  It really likes a shorter line and an aggressive skier.  If the D3 custom is the right length that would be my first choice. ÂÂÂÂ
  4. I still have mine.  It's a great ski, turns, stable, big sweet spot.  Perfect for you if it's the right size.
  5. Yeah, when I'm skiing well I always think I must look like Jaimie B. Then I review the video and man....I have work to do!  Handle control from the 2nd wake to the ball, not really all that countered in the onside turn and drop my head onside regularly. ÂÂÂÂ
  6. WOW...I resemble that.  I've never had elbow pain but I kept getting slack at 1 at -35 with a tail wind last Thursday. Now I have elbow pain that I've never had before.  I skied easy today with a bunch of Ibu's.
  7. I pull out to the 2,4,6 line no matter if it's -22 or -35.   I believe my ski casts out wider as I do a one handed gate but that's what I do.  If I get too wide on the longer lines it goofs up my one ball. I like things consistant and it seems to work for me so far. ÂÂÂÂ
  8. John, Are you still cruzin the MPD?

    2.523/6.755 Jaws/.775----Magic! ÂÂÂÂ
  10. You should post your full 32 off pass too.   ÂÂÂÂ
  11. Either that or his ski wants to "hunt" aweful bad when he stands up.

Ok...I'll be out on the course tomorrow and I'll adjust DFT and work on me.

Dawg is at .76 so I'm going to try migrating that direction.

OK...I'm still playing with the F1 but I have a question since I've been struggling a little with the onside turn.   I really like this ski and I have tastes here and there how well this ski rips.   The positive is that the offside turn is just killer sweet. It doesn't matter how I go into 2-4-6 and this ski turns great, finishes with great angle, doesn't let go and carrys out really well to my onside.   My problem is that at the finish of the onside turn it wants to grab and stop a bit at -32.  We took some video of me free skiing trying to determine if it's me or setup related.   I found myself back a bit going through my onside to compensate for the bite at the end.  The ski seems to be riding fine and the water doesn't break as far up on the ski as on my offside. About 3-4 " ahead of the front boot at max onside. The ski rides really level into both sides and through the wakes.  I can tell I'm getting back a bit through the onside as the tip comes up a little higher at the late stages of the finish of the turn but it's not a lot.    The 2nd thing is that occasionally I fall over on the onside after the buoy.  It seems like I get over too far and I just keep going until the handle hits the water and I spin out. That's a new experience for me also. (I just now watched the video again and I think that's cause I'm skiing with my position back a bit onside and it was at -35 so I think I was just flying nilly willy) I'm used to my Monza which had a killer onside so this is a little different for me.   If I can adjust it out by either fixing me or the ski the F1 is going to be a real confidence builder for me and get me shorter. I'm going to go back a little with the fin and hope it doesn't severely mess up my offside.  Any other ideas ???? After writing this I just now watched the video again at regular speed instead of slow mo and the ski does a quick snap toward the end of the onside turn. It looks like I just need to slow the turn down. I have room to go with more tip in the water offside so I'm going to try fin going back a bunch unless you have other ideas. I'm at .81 DFT Goode method now. I have old school video stuff or I'd post it.  If I were to rate myself my weekest area is handle control off the 2nd wake and letting the ski cast out (onside).   Countering and balance through the turns is good but not great.  Through the wakes is my strength with body position, level shoulders, facing down course, handle down , elbows in, shoulders away, knees bent, hips in line and not dragging. The ski has good direction and is level through the wakes. I seem to develop speed very easily.
  15. Dave, I'm LFF and I usually pull out right when my ski hits the 55 meter balls no matter if it's 22,28,32,and attempted 35's.  I just switched to a different ski and I have been trying to be a little smoother with my gate speed so I have been testing out starting about 10 feet before the 55's.  I may go back to pulling out right at 55 as I really like to ski out, cast out and ski right back in with as little glide as possible.
  16. Brent, If you watch the right hand gate ball pass behind you doesn't that make you counter the wrong way? :P J/K. What helped me more than anything was to lead in the direction of travel with my hip.  I lose my hips when I get tired and let my butt get back.  If I think about getting my hip forward again I get balanced again with effortless speed.  But that's Butt specific to my problem.
  17. Ok...just got back. Not great conditions (cross wind) but I focused on letting the ski come around and then just holding that angle into the first wake and not trying to over or under do it.    Ran some very nice passes but found myself pulling a little long into my onside at the end.  I didn't realize that was the problem until I got in the boat and was thinking about it.  It felt like I wasn't letting the ski carry out since I was early and wide enough so I think I jammed the turns a bit.   That's the story of my skiing, I work on fixing one thing and I screw up something else. Just a vicious circle.  I need to take up lawn darts!  ÂÂÂÂ
  18. Control your speed into 1 ball with angle... I'm going to go out and mess with this right now.  ÂÂÂÂ
  19. I have a tendancy to jump on the gates but when I remember to turn late for angle and relax a bit I do much better.   I'm just brainstorming but I'm thinking that if I tried to get the most angle possible with the least amount of speed that would be a mental mantra that may help me.  Some of my best 32's were started with me telling myself to take it easy although I turn in late for angle.  Any thoughts from the guru's?

My front binding is at 29.125 on a 67". My spotter said the ski looked like it was riding extremely well all the way through the course.  I rode the ski in 24 mph gusts yesterday and didn't really notice the chop like I would normally. The wind was another story but I ran one of the sweetest tail wind passes that I've ever experienced.  This ski is STIFF and I'm used to my noodle Monza but it still turns extremely well and very even on both sides. ÂÂÂÂ
  21. I just started playing around with an F1. There are a lot things that this ski does well for me.   I need to get some more time on it but I'm liking the even turns on both sides and figuring out that I need to stay patient on the ski and it does all the work.  The fin settings don't seem to be super critical as I have been adjusting as I go and I'm not that far from stock settings.  Anybody got any input from riding this ski? So far I really like it, it doesn't give you the feeling of the sprint speed of the monza but it's not slow and you still get wide early.  I gotta get a few more sets on it in the course but so far it feels pretty darn good.
  22. I start from the middle of the wash and pull out right when the tip of my ski is at the greenies. ÂÂÂÂ
  23. Oh. My bindings were set at 29" which wasn't quite one hole forward but I liked them there. ÂÂÂÂ
  24. You are in luck.  I used to ski it and now it is my wifes ski. It is a 65.5" My numbers were 6.925 tips/2.518/.757/7 Terry Winters were 6.974/2.525/.76/ 11 ...yes 11 degrees on the wing.  When I talked with him he said he liked a lot of tip but it didn't work for me. Gordons at the time 6.820 jaws 2.515/.75 / 7 on the wing. That ski turns so well on both sides.  I'm thinking I should jump on it again and see what I think of it now that I'm a little better skier then back then.ÂÂÂÂ
  25. Wileys are nice except when you have really narrow long feet.  Plus I tend to ski a lot in cold water where the intuition liners are nice.  I skied in double Wileys for 2-3 years. I had to modify them to get them to work well with my foot shape. ÂÂÂÂ
