  1. That's great, I googled the address and am on my way. I'll drop off my old Stiletto, it has a different kind of stain on it.ÂÂ
  2. I'm planning to hit regionals and nationalts.
  3. Thanks Eric. Yeah i would never file a bogus warranty claim, i am very much about taking responsibility for your own actions. i only contacted OBrien about paying to have it repaired, so it would look right. If it turns out that they will do it then i will have it done at the end of the year. i jb welded it, but it looks like crap.  i have skied on several same model skis and they never ski exactly the same. i have this one pretty dialed in to where i am the limiting factor. i just would like to keep this ski in good shape. if i were to get something new it would have to be a serious upgrade. i am kind of intrigued by the elite and A1, and would like to demo them. i really dont want to plunk down that kind of money unless it means more bouys.
  4. I emailed them to see what they would say, but haven't heard anything. So, I got impatient and got some JB Weld. It is on the top edge near the toes of my front foot, so it shouldn't be in the water much. I really like the Sixam SS, but I would love to get a chance to demo an Elite. Bringin any blems to West Palm?
  5. I just don't know that I could do that. It wasn't a problem with the ski, it was something I did. I wouldn't mind paying Obrien to repair it, though. So, maybe I will email them and see it they will repair it, and if it is ok to ski on until after nationals.
  6. That is how mine is, it is on the edge of the ski. That sounds like a good idea, but I'm so terrible at fixing things of this nature. I might see if a boat repair shop will fix it.  I live on the coast, so there are a ton of fiberglass shops around.  I bet it will be hard to match that beautiful Sixam SS green/vanillaforum/js/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-laughing.gif
  7. The problem is the guy wants about $280 for it. It looks like he added a wing to it.
  8. I'm out of warranty I'm afraid, thanks for the JB Weld idea.
  9. I came around three ball last night and got some slack. I actually skied over the wrope, so I let go of the handle. The handle hit my ski and took a chunck out of the side of it. Now I'm not sure what to do. It doesn't effect my skiing, but I'm afraid if I don't do anything it will further damage the ski. Should I put some epoxy on it, or sent it to Obrien to fix it, or ski on it the rest of the year and then use that as an excuse to buy a new ski next year. The only problem is, I really like this ski and don't want another, and wouldn't want to send it off until after nationals.
  10. I think the biggest problem with the older skis is flex. Most of them are to soft, but I did ski on a Maha a couple of years ago that was the stiffest ski I had ever ridden. You could put it between two chairs and jump on it and it wouldn't flex. I actually ran deep 35 on it with stock fin and bindings. The ski was supper fast, but wouldn't turn for crap. It had so much speed you could make up for the turns. I think an adjustable fin, and maybe a wing would have made that ski a contender. I have thought a couple of times about getting one and skiing some tournaments just to make some people mad.
  11. I have done 1 round of p90x and it has really paid off. My workouts have been kind of hit and miss since I started skiing, maybe 3 times a week, but I plan to hit it for real again at the end of the summer. It has definatelly helped my back and my skiing. The X strecth always makes me feel better. After I finish my second round I think I'll try p90x plus.  I guess I need to try a different workout belt, I think the one I have is just to large. Thanks for the info.
  12. Sounds like I'm going down the same road. I do a lot of abs, strecthing, and lower back exercises. It helps, but I'm not quite where I would like to be yet.ÂÂ
  13. There was one 67" 07 Monza http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&postid=SIA06175  Now you got me bummed about the elite, I was hoping to justify spending $2000 on a slalom
  14. There were some Monzas on ski-it-again and also an obrien elite for $1300.
  15. To make a short story long, last summer I hurt my back (I don't know how) and sublocated my shoulder and seperated my AC joint ( I know how, but refuse to admit). I believe both injuries came from being out of shape, so I started working out and running. The workout I have been doing is P90X, and so far I have been very impressed. I honestly believe it has improved my skiing. I haven't gotten sore from skiing a single time this year, and I have been able to take more and longer sets without getting tired. My one questions was just wondering if anyone else had tried it, and how has it worked out? My more important question is while my back feels better it isn't 100% and I was wondering if anyone is skiing with a back brace that they would recommend? I tried the Schiek and it didn't give me enough support. I might try a Schiek jump sling, they always gave good support. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
  16. I have in the past. I tore the cartlidge in my knee and wore a brace one summer. I saw that Overtons is selling knee braces, I'm sure others are as well.
  17. How could I have forgotten the Dick Pope El Diablo. I skied my first tournament on that beauty.
  18. I would have sworn it was a 65, but you are probably right. It was a factory special.  I actually took a set, a couple of years ago, on a wood maharaja with the original binders and ran 5@35. You could put that ski between two chairs and jump up and down on it and it wouldn't flex. That thing was awesome.
  19. 65 Mastercraft Mirage, I got to borrow it for a year. I got a second one, the one with the blue on it, but it never skied like the original. Great ski, I would still ski on it today if I didn't have to give it back.
  20. Yeah I know, I was just kidding, but thank you.  I am a little strange and that may be helping me.  My normal practice site is usually very windy and rough. Most people wont ski there unless it is dead calm, and there are no other boats around. I practice anyway, I just bend my knees and go. When I get to a tournament and get to ski good water, it just seems that much easier. I really believe that making some practices more difficult is helpfull. I also take opportunities to ski good sites to practice on new things or shorter line passes. It is hard to get a good one ball with a knuckle head on a tube screaming by. Not that there is anything wrong with that.
  21. I've been told I was strange my entire life. I really was dreading skiing behind ZO and I was pleasantly surprised. I was actually complaining about ZO on the dock, before my first round, not even haven skied behind it before.  I have only taken 3 rounds, maybe I'll learn to hate it.  I'm sorry you are having trouble with it. What problems are you having with ZO?
  22. I'm one of those 98 to 100 bouy guys. I ran 2 at 38 off in the 2nd and 3rd round of the tournament, and I was early and wide. I panick at 38 and try to force the pass instead of let it come to me. I'm M3, 34 mph.
  23. I was really scared about ZO from everything I had heard. Then I pulled my sister trick skiing behind her boat with ZO and it made me hate it even more. The boat was constantly speeding up and slowing down, but she swore she couldn't feel it. I switched it off and pulled her using the old fashion art of driving the boat, and she couldn't tell the difference.  I finally skied my first tournament behind a ZO boat, and I loved it. I practice behind a 07 MC with PP. I'm about 205 skiing on a 67 SS at 34. I skied one set behind a MC and two behind a CC and all felt very good. I did fall early on my first set, behind the MC, but it wasn't ZO's fault, I got on the front of the ski and it died.  The second two sets felt great.   For me ZO on B2 skied close enough to perfect pass that ZO is no longer even a consideration of mine, and I will just keep practicing with PP, no need to upgrade.ÂÂ
