  1. @Ed Obermeier - Thank you Ed, that´s exactly what I was looking for. @BraceMaker - No current, its a big lake and the owner uses the water to generate energy. Every year the water goes down about 12´, the rain season fills it again.
  2. Really like Tgas coaching but in my opinion Drew and Rini's sites are better.
  3. Have you tried: http://www.cypruswaterski.org.cy/
  4. @mwetskier - I am currently using a FM I bought from Henrik at www.miamiskinautiques.com
  5. @Alex38 - As long as I know Thomas Wayne was the person who invented it. I bought a few from him some years ago (send me an email: albertocsoares at hotmail dot com in order to send you TW´s private email). Last January I was at www.miamiskinautiques.com and saw another model (I think from FM) I bought a few and gave them to my ski pals. @OB - I am glad I was using it otherwise more than my chin could have gone into the handle
  6. Last Sunday, 38off, late to 6, RFF, fell to the front in the buoy, both feet released, land with the face into the handle, chin received the boat pull and handle passed by neck. Result: 4 stitches inside the mouth, bruise neck and chin, can´t chew with the back teeth yet. I am glad I have a handle protector or it could have been a lot worse...
  7. I am 1.75m and 73kg (guess it is about 5´9 and 172 lb) and I have been skiing pretty well the last couple of weeks with my 66.75 M6. Last saturday I decided to give my Nano 1 another try and found that I am skiing a little easier with it. I guess the M6 is a bit big for me, I am doing about the same buoy count (deep to full 38) with both skis, but with less effort with the Nano 1 as it is easier to turn. Wish I have the chance to try the 65 M6...
  8. Rest of the history: The skier who got hurt is a closer friend, I went to the emergency with him after the accident and he told me that it was his fault. First - when he first mounted the front and back brackets on the ski he made a mistake and did not put them in the correct aligment. He was afraid of making other holes into the ski so he left the way it was. As it was not correct he had to tie the release mechanism to the maximum otherwise it would pre release. Second - going into the 6th bouy he was totally out of control, fighting the boat trying to get a piece of 6. He felt in the way to 6, after the second wake the ski took off the water and got back diving with the tip. The doctor mentioned that looked like the fracture was due a strong compression. Another friend was filming so we could watch frame by frame, it was horrible. The good news - The surgery was a success and the level of pain now is about 3 (0-10). Saturday he will come back to Brazil, in about 30 days will start moving/walking, in 60 days physiotherapy, doctor expects he will return to sports in about 120-150 days
  9. Progear is the best. I thought it would not last because it is made of a thin leather, but it does last as much as any kevlar glove and its grip is just amazing. It is also good for the handles as it does not wear them as the kevlar gloves. I have been using then for the last 2 years, US$40 if you buy directly from Clint's website, www.progear.ch
  10. 200 and if your lake is higher than 2400' (about 800m) get the 6.0lt engine.
  11. @OB - Thats really bad news, I was looking forward finally meeting you, another good reason for me to go to Atlanta pro-am.
  12. Fyi - Mapple's training today: 28/32/32/39. Needless to say he completed all his passes...
  13. This is the starting order for the first eliminatory round and it is based on previos Bigdawg / Latin Senior Tour results.
  14. @MickeyThompson and @Horton - Sorry for the misinformation, a young man from New Zealand whose first name is Adam and works with Andy helped me setting up the Mapple last week at Matt Rini's lake. I just saw a picture of Adam Cord in the net and realized that was not him.
  15. I have been skiing my best ever the last 2/3 months with the N1. Last week I was in Orlando and tried the Mapple, Adam Cord helped me with the setup which made me ski as well as on the N1 in my first set, so I decided to bring one home. The problem is that I have not decided yet which ski I will take with me to the Latin Senior Tour in Chile in the end of the month...
  16. @ral - as it worked well during the first 35 hours I suspect it has something to do with gasoline delivery to the engine. I would start checking the gas filters. I had a problem with my low pressure pump and when I was changing it I noticed there was some debris on its entrance. I cleaned it and it is fine now, I did not have to change it.
  17. 2 girls - My 12 can slalom in the mini course and the 4 is still learning how to swim first.
  18. She only skied when we were dating...
  19. A friend began using it this week and really like its stiffeness. He told me also that you can order only the carbon parts and upgrade your normal Reflex.
  20. Sorry for the late reply. You can use any type of liner, unfortunatly you will have to start with you rear foot on the R-style, it is hard to put your foot there after you get up. You have to keep it tied, otherwise your heel will leave the boot and you probably will not complete the pass.
  21. @AB - I have been using it for almost 2 years now. Yes you can lift your back foot heel and it releases OK when it should. It is impossible to use it without a liner, it would hurt your heel, I use the thin Reflex liners, in fact they are gone by now - hope to buy a pair soon.
