  1. I used to travel with the Sportube and was always surprised with the damage on it, my impression is that due to its rigid form the airline employees do not take too much care with it, I guess they think it is resistent so they just throw it without any care. The last years I have been traveling with soft cases, which are lighter and looks fragile, do not know if it is just luck but so far so good.
  2. I have a friend that skis with me, he is a big guy and keeps breaking things... He skis with the Elite, likes it a lot and the ski is still in a great shape, go forward.
  3. I would go for the Razor, it sure is a solid and resistent ski and works great for me, I tried a few skis over the last years and keep going back to my old Fischer, which has more than 1000 sets on it. I feel my 66 hard Fischer is even better for 36 than 34mph. The only problem is its fin which is thinner than other skis and bends when something hits it. I do not know if the Razor has the thin fin as the Fischer, though.
  4. @rodltg2 - Ral is right, your office is probably in Alphaville, about 30min drive from Alphavillage, Fabio´s ski place. If you want to ski there you have to contact Fabio, as it is not an open ski site anymore.
  5. @rodltg2 - Where will you be in Brazil? I am in Belo Horizonte and ski almost every morning during April.
  6. 5'9" - 160lbs - 34mph PB practice 1-2@39, tournament 5@38 Fischer 66 - Orange (hard) - last 3/4 years - Best ski I had for 36mph, ok for 34mph, I think a softer one would be better for 34 Currently trying a Reflex 67, new ski, new bindings, still do not feel confortable as my old Fischer, will see...
  7. Rodrigo, Just read about your accident, I am glad all went well and hope you recover soon. I will see you in Chile in January, hopefully back skiing. Best regards, Alberto

  9. R-style: I am using it for the last 2 weeks, I was a little afraid that my back foot would not go out, but today I had a bad OTF and it did get out really easy. I like the system because you can lift your back foot heel as my old powershell did.

  11. Anyone using the R-style? Does the back foot realease easily?

  14. For me the best is about 2.5cm (1") between my boots
  15. Jody, please add a cable for my 2010/200 on your list. Thank you!
  16. Skied again yesteday with my "mini wing" in the front of my fin. Unhapply my back and legs could not stand the extra drag, so I took it out and set my "normal fin" back to the usual 8 degrees I am used to. I wish I was stronger and could get the extra pressure because my ski really felt more stable. Anyways I will buy an original Chet's VW from Goode and try the real one.
  17. I could not resist giving it a try today. I took a small wing from a Slot Fin and put it in the front of my Fischer fin, did not measure anything, just put it where I though it looked good. I first noticed a lot of drag making the tip lower, so I decided to reduce my normal wing from 8 to 7.5 degrees. It felt better but I still had to spend more energy to ride my Fischer. I liked the way it skied, out of the turns the ski is more stable and I did not miss any 35´s. In the second set I was more confidente and even got a complete 38, something VERY rare lately. Will keep it on my fin for a while and see what happens.
  18. I moved to double boots about 20 years ago because I tought it would improve my skiing. In fact it helped me to stay in a more solid position, but I wish I could go back to RTP, I even tried a couple years ago but I could not make my ski turn. I think it is a nice and lighter set up and also think the RTP makes less drag. My choice would be Reflex+RTP
  19. Double goode 5. Have been using the system last 5/6 years. Use to change dual lock once a year, skiing 350-400 sets a year never hurt myself with them. They do require maintanance, my current boots are 1 year old and already changed 2 buckets. In my opinion this system is dangerous wih RTP.
  20. My CB 200 (409) came with acme 654 (12.5x15), used to have 34mph@4000, just tried the 422(12.5x15.5), the RPMs went down only about 100, guess it will not pay its cost. At least now I have a spare propeller... BTW, our lake is located at about 1500m (4500') above see level.Â
  21. Check out www.correctcraftfan.com, lots of info on Nautique maintenance.
  22. Hi Jody! I am interested in the cable, sent you an email but got no response. Please contact me at: albertocsoares at hotmail dot com Thank you, AlbertoÂ
  23. Go for Perfect Pass, Randy is a great guy to do business with: www.perfectpass.com You will always find good deals at: www.ski-it-again.com http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skiitagain.php?topic=Search&postid=13090 Just pay attencion for not buying any DBW (drive by wire) Perfect Pass as your boat needs a "servo motor", also stay away from Stargazer as it is hard to make it work fine with old GT40´s
  24. Horton I am in Italy now and going back to Brazil tomorrow. We arrived here 04/sept to the +35 world champ and had a great time skiing in 4 different fantastic places, I will send you tomorrow the skiing contacts we made here. For the telephone I bought a local pre paid TIM sim card (at a local TIM mobile store) and just sticked to my iPhone. It costed 10 euros and when your credits are gone you just buy more credit at any tabaco shop. For the internet/data transfer TIM has a promotion that only costs 2 euros a week and you have free acess to 3G internet, you need to call their tool free number (119) and ask for the promotion. For international calls I use my Skype, it works great on 3G internet conection. At Skype you can buy a local (USA) phone number (costs something like $20 for 3 months) and transfer your mobile to your skype USA number, than when you have a local Italian number, acess your skype acount and transfer it to your new Italian number. This way you will receive all calls made to your USA mobile at a low Skype cost.
  25. Brent is right, attach something that floats to the plastic case otherwise you may loose your camera like my friend did. If you stick it to the tip of the ski be sure to tigh the screw with a screwdriver as the vibration makes the camera move. Btw, the case is really waterproof, when my friend lost his camera we where able to return to the lake with the diving equipment only 1 week after he lost it and found it in perfect conditions at 6 meters deep. Check some videos we did at my youtube page, if the link is not correct Google for "albertocsoares video slalom" Sorry they are not edited ... http://m.youtube.com/#/profile?desktop_uri=%2Fuser%2Falbertocsoares&sort=p&channel_id=0&ytsession=%7B%7D&user=albertocsoares&start=0&gl=IT&bmb=1
