  1. Jim, I am SURE you will be fine. Praying for you right now.
  2. I do not know why but I feel the screws down wing adds about 0.5 degrees of drag compared to the normal wing (both with the same angle)
  3. @sunvalleylaw - Miranda Ski School in Santiago is a great place, very nice skiing and ambience, in fact I will be there next November for a stop of LAST (Latin American Senior Tour - www.latinwaterski.com) In the city of Sao Paulo (Guarapiranga Lake) there are 7 slalom courses, great skiing conditions but no coaching available, I can introduce you to some friends that will be happy to ski with you. In Rio de Janeiro there is one coach available, Greg (whatsApp 55 21 999 610 817), he has a nice ZO ski boat and in the morning the skiing conditions are usually good, the lake Rodrigo de Freitas is in the middle of the city, really beautiful site. In Belo Horizonte (where I live) no coaching available but I will be glad to ski with you anytime you want, there are 2 lakes with 5 courses about 30min from Belo , both with ZO boats: www.clubeserradamoeda.com.br There are nice places also close to Buenos Aires, I have been to a few but unfortunately do not have contacts, check their federation site for more info: www.fadew.com.ar
  4. Press on/off once, it does work on practice mode, you will see it highlighted in the left bottom
  5. 10 of 23 skiers run 39 in the first set
  6. @Horton - 0.5@39 - first round, way to go!!!! - unofficial www.waterskiresults.com
  7. Dont worry guys, she survived ok! @BraceMaker - after we lifted it, we raised the chain, so no clunck clunck, at least during the night. @oldjeep - we use to put 2 extra vertical straps and let the weight on them, I didnt like to keep the rings stressed on that angle for too long @thager - That was the worse part, tired and still have to work hard. Thinking about it, I guess I know now what ruined my shoulders...
  8. Not a MC, but I ring lifted my LXI for 2 years before building an electric lifter, no problem at all.
  9. @tap - Very nice, keep it up. Is the skier LFF?
  10. @santangelo - Great job, could you please make it available for Brazil? Thank you!!!
  11. Another one for PT, 52, shoulders have been a problem for years, doctor told me a couple years ago I have to redo both. With PT I learned not to make any exercises where my elbows go higher than my shoulders, extreme stretchs are also bad for me, daily rubber band exercises are the best
  12. I read somewhere that for each 100m (300') of elevation you loose 1% of horsepower, our lake is at 1500m (4500') that makes 15% less power, so a 400hp in fact works as a 340hp and a 340hp will work only as 289hp, thats not enough for the new high drag hulls.
  13. Congratulations Rodrigo, come ski with me during your winter.
  14. I am also 5'9" with XT, reflex/r-style, use US 8.5 shoes, I like my bindings 1" apart
  15. Here in Brazil the only gasoline available is E27, that's right, 27% ethanol. Other than getting a high fuel consumption the engines don't seem to damage from it, at least that's my own experience with thousands of hours on my boats the last 20 years (currently 200/6.0 with 1400h and Malibu 5.7 with 1000h)
  16. I tried to time it using the skier as a base and both passes seem fine, on the trick pass it sounds like C3+
  17. @GK - That's fantastic! How many minutes per H2H?
  18. Great idea, I did some testing with 32 skiers, minimum a skier gets is 3 sets, about 13 hours considering 10min each h2h
  19. Still using my 3 years old XT, the best ski I ever had, wish Santa sends me a backup, you never know ...
  20. Reflex/r-style - 3 weeks ago hit the 5@38, took a bit long to release (I guess the buoy support has something to do with that) - partial achilles rupture 1" upper from the end of the front reflex - no surgery needed - I guess the reflex strap saved me from a total rupture. Oh well, next week start physiotherapy, hopely back to water first week of 2017 (about 10 weeks off).
  21. if you use magnets be sure to put all of them with the correct pole in the same direction (up/down) and the timer in the right position (forward/back), otherwise you will get bad times
  22. Use a chronometer to set the RPM baseline, preferably pulling a skier, thats the way I always did with my PP boats
  23. I imagine some problem with the GPS antenna, anyway, when skiing with PP Stargazer I always use RPM mode, got tired of getting bad times.
  24. @Ral - Rain is fine, every year is the same, they use the water for energy, this lake has a huge rain basin, in 2 weeks of good rain it fills up, usually from October to December we can only use the deep side. @Andre - we have 2 courses, one in the shallow side (max 9') and the other in the deep side of the lake, we have plenty space for a good setup, problem is some backwash depending on the water level.
